6 stone to lose. Help!

birdsanctuary · 26/10/2021 11:54

Hi everyone,
Just looking for encouragement and support. Starting a new group tomorrow. 10 years ago I had a successful stint and lost 3 stone in 6 months. Had lots of unsuccessful goes since then but I really have to make it work this time. Got foot surgery coming up so it's a medical requirement as much as for confidence and general health.
I would just love to "chew the fat" ...😂 Ha ha, not literally!!!... with other new starters.

A nice cold glass of Chardonnay sounds very tempting Asinglepringle not too bad though syn wise.

I have friends visiting on Friday evening, we are having Papa John's pizza delivered. Also Prosecco. I don't want to derail myself also get weighed on Saturday at 7.30am! I will do myself a big salad and have 2 slices. 2 small glasses of Prosecco.

How is everyone doing today?

Wilma55 · 07/12/2021 10:45

Feeling a bit 😕 as weighed in this morning (usually Saturday so 10 days since last WI) and 1/2 off. I know its a loss and it's 10lb in total since 10/10 but very slow. Will try doing more exercise. Pon recipe tonight, dirty macaroni! Not tried it before. A lot of people at group said they are just trying to maintain until after Christmas.

LightandAiry · 07/12/2021 11:08

What is dirty macaroni?

I think this time of year it's beyond challenging and your 1/2lb is good Smile agree exercise makes a difference - today's exercise for me has been housework so far, walking to beauty salon later and then to the charity bin....on that subject hoping to treat myself to some new clothes when I am 2.5 stone lighter, and fit into some 3/4 length white jeans which have never fitted me!

Wilma55 · 07/12/2021 11:52

@LightandAiry here's a link to Dirty Macaroni and a few other recipes....

This weather is wild!

Well done on the losses Wilma and Single. A loss is a loss is a loss and repeat!

0.5lb off for me today. I'm pleased enough with that. If I can keep going downwards or just stay the same then that is awesome compared to what I would do in a normal December. I'm not going to beat myself up because I know that we'll all be amazing in January! Feeling quite positive really.

I've got a goal skirt, like your jeans Light. I've the perfect top to wear with it, and it's a size 18 so it really shouldn't be more than a couple of months away from fitting. I hope it looks nice when it does - it's never fitted me for me to tell! Grin

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 07/12/2021 14:22

@Wilma55 @LittleDoritt @Asinglepringle well done on losses! I won't be weighing in this week. DH has covid, to be confirmed on PCR test, and I probably have it too. So staying put for the forseeable.

Wilma55 · 07/12/2021 14:28

Oh no @SpongeBobJudgeyPants I hope you will be ok.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 07/12/2021 14:40

Thanks. Have been double-jabbed, so should be.

LightandAiry · 07/12/2021 18:14

Wilma55 thanks for the recipe link

SpongeBob I hope you don't get it

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 08/12/2021 13:31

Unfortunately I do have it, but don't feel very interested in food at the moment. SW leader has suggested I weigh in by Zoom this week. Hmm That won't be happening. I have asked for a holiday week, but no idea how long I can have. How is everyone else today?

Wilma55 · 08/12/2021 13:39

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants hope it isn't too bad! I think you get 6 holiday weeks a year but do you have to use them if you are ill? That's what's been putting me off getting another 6 or 12 week course - you have to pre book your weeks off, though I suppose if you get 1 or 2 free weeks it doesn't matter. Wasn't mad on the Dirty Macaroni but partner liked it and I've frozen half.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 08/12/2021 14:40

Thanks Wilma. I had a look at that recipe, with a view to making it with veggie mince at some point. The cheese would need us to venture into Town Supermarket as opposed to village one. Did you syn it ok? I have thought that buying up 6 week blocks stops you having your hols on SW.

Wilma55 · 08/12/2021 16:14

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants I used hex A for the cheese and the bread was less than a slice between 4 (meant to be 6). Think I ignored the soft cheese but again not much between 4. I did look up about buying in blocks and you can pre book holidays. Also if Ill or bereaved your group leader (?) can get head office to sort.

6 stone to lose. Help!
SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 08/12/2021 18:51

Oh thanks @Wilma55. :)

LightandAiry · 08/12/2021 19:25

Hi all, I work a long day Wednesdays, sitting at my desk for a long time. I did take breaks and went for a walk after work. Worked from home today which has the advantage of having left overs for lunch: free veggie chilli, brown rice and curly kale.

Planning on watching I'm a Celebrity later with DD and perhaps an After Eight - Mojito flavoured!

Hoping for some sort of loss on scales this week.

SpongeBob sorry to hear you have Covid.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 08/12/2021 19:26

Thanks @LightandAiry. Anybody seen the SW email? The excercise videos sound quite good.

LightandAiry · 08/12/2021 19:32

I have seen the email but not looked at exercise videos. It mentioned new members pack with a 6 week planner.

Wilma55 · 08/12/2021 20:04

You have to attend between 26th Dec and15th Jan to get the pack (or be a new member) Here's hoping it's highly motivational !

LeftyLou · 08/12/2021 21:25

Hope you are feeling okay. Sorry to hear about your result @spongebobJudgeyPants.

Great on the losses @Wilma55 and @Asinglepringle!

There was a mention of a homemade pizza for 8 syns. Using Greek yogurt and 50g self raising flour. So I am thinking of making a garlic bread this weekend and trying it out. Sharing it with my partner, so of course lowing the syns too. Win win. Just hope it is as nice as it was made out.

Does anybody think that virtual groups will come back?

LeftyLou · 08/12/2021 21:39

Weight loss

17th November 13 stone 3 BMI 35
24th November 12 stone 13 BMI 34.2
1st December 12 stone 9.5 BMI 33.5
8th December 12 stone 8.5 BMI 33.3
1lbs loss this week. Happy with that but am going to aim for a little bigger for next week.

Wilma55 · 09/12/2021 08:37

Qell done LeftLou great loss! I tried that bread when on ww but it got in a sticky mess. How were virtual groups before? I've not been on SW long enough to have had them. Did they reduce the price? Off to Morrisons this morning for a change (also 10% off with blue light card) so will be looking for some new recipes to try. Have a good day everyone.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 09/12/2021 10:06

Thanks @LeftyLou and well done. The pizza sounds interesting, but some of these things are tricky IMHE. I had a go at cloud bread once. Not a sucess. IIRC prices stayed the same when weighing in virtually? Maybe someone else can confirm. I think it went up soon after they reopened.

LittleDoritt · 09/12/2021 18:06

Well done Lefty.

I will be a bit gutted if it goes to virtual groups. I don't fancy that at all and will probably stop again rather than pay all that money to weigh in my own bathroom. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen.

LightandAiry · 09/12/2021 18:28

I am planning some damage limitation for tomorrow evening. Pizza and wine night with a couple of friends. I may have 2 slices of pizza with salad and small helpings of side dishes & 2 glasses of wine. Probably about 30 syns. It would be about 60 syns if I had everything I want!

LeftyLou well done on your 1lb. I will be chuffed if that's me on Saturday 🤞
