As we are moving into a new year, I thought we should start a new thread. Everyone is welcome to join who is following the SW plan.

I'm Groovee. Joined my local group in January 2017. Had lost a stone at that point in 6 months. Then took 14 months to lose 4.5st and have been at target since March 2018. I've bumbled my way through target since then. Still attend group regularly as I need the accountability. I'm still learning new things all the time.

Look forward to chatting. As I'm at the top of my target, I want to lose at least 5lb in by February.

@RubySlippers77 yes I think you do. I think you get 6 holidays out the year. My consultant the other week let someone use a holiday though because the scales wouldn't work and she would of been late for work should she have waited for them to be fixed.

I'm only having one meal of plan but it's a day before weigh in so don't want to risk putting any weight on for weigh in. I got my club 10 award 2 weeks ago and it says if you lose for 10 weeks they will give you a free week x

Perhaps it's changed since I went to group then @MotherOfLittlePeople, we could use holidays as and when (or maybe our leader was just lenient!) - yours sounds flexible too which is helpful.

Thank you for the advice @shinynewapple2020; I think you're entirely right about paying for online as opposed to group. It does show you on the website but I could do with some printed literature to explain it too (mine is a few years old and out of date). It does say that I'm on Extra Easy but can change it if I want, however I can't find where it says what I could change it to, or how!

I did phone SW today to ask if they had any special offers for renewals, but apparently not, only any offers on their website Sad

@MotherOfLittlePeople you don’t need to lose weight every week for your club 10’free week you just need to be at or below your club 10 weight 10 weeks after you achieve it. Hope that makes sense x

Hey can I join this thread too please? I'm into week 5 of SW and have lost 10.5lbs altogether. I only lost .5lbs this week but I reckon that is due to the 5.5lbs weight loss last week. I'm dying to go off the rails a little today and have a few drinks tonight. Can you still save up syns or is that a thing of the past? Is it worth it?

Hope everyone is going OK on the plan. I joined 4th Jan and weighed in today, lost 12.5lb since joining, so I'm hoping to get my stone award next week! I've found things generally fine and haven't been hungry. I think I'm going to have to keep a food diary for the rest of my life, as it's the only way I can keep control of myself, haha!! X

I think they generally encourage not to save up your syns for a blow out, but I reckon most of us do that at times tbh!! X

Well done RPow that's a great loss. I bought in a sugar free mixer in the end so I'll just syn a couple of vodkas and stay within the 15 syn limit. I've 4 stone to lose overall and determined to get it all off this year. Only 3 stone 3.5lbs to go Smile How are you finding all of the cooking? I'm starting to get bored of having the same curry, bolognese and chilli. It's time to get adventurous and try out some new recipes. A lady from our group put up a chicken, mushroom and garlic recipe that looked tasty so might try that out tomorrow.

lorr27, I've got around another two stone to lose. It feels a bit daunting at times, but fingers crossed!! I know what you mean re the cooking, especially for me as I'm a shit cook and don't enjoy it!! Definitely a good idea to try new recipes if you can. I love fish, so eating tons of salmon during the week. I don't tend to buy ready meals, but in group today, our consultant was showing us the new range of SW Iceland meals, snacks, lunch pots etc. There's so much choice so I was thinking I may try a couple this week out of interest. I wouldn't want to have them all the time, but maybe handy to have a couple in the freezer. Enjoy your vodkas! :-) xx

Well done all the 'losers'!

I've fallen off the wagon this week as I'm full of a streaming cold and DP refuses to pull his weight with the cooking. So instead of my healthy SW meals it's been chip shop, toast etc.

Hopefully back on it soon. Really need to be as we go on holiday soon and I don't want to be mistaken for a whale in the photos Shock

Hope you are feeling better @RubySlippers77 ?

I had Saturday off plan, didn't weigh in this week as used a holiday. Due to weigh in again on Monday and my scales are not budgeing!! I'm getting slightly obsessive of weighing my self on my own scales every morning which I know needs to stop but I just can't get in to the next stone bracket. Surly weight loss won't off slowed down yet?

I am still full of snot and chocolate @MotherOfLittlePeople Sad

How is everyone doing this week? I'm trying to decide whether it's worth rejoining SW online. Probably not for half term TBH!

MotherOfLittlePeople · 14/02/2020 12:58

@RubySlippers77 I was thinking of joining online instead as well but I'd like the accuracy of group scales and the certificates. I can't really stay and be part of the group with my little one with me lol.

My scales still aren't budging and I'm even more annoyed as I've been so good all week. I rarely go off plan at all just that one bloody night. Not looking forward to mondays weigh in x

I used to post on here under a different username. Lost 4.5 stone on slimming world but its been creeping back up. Help me get my motivation back.

I'd like to lose 7lbs in a month. How can I kick start it? I need some tips to get back on track. I know I'm eating too many syns!

I stayed the same yesterday at weigh in. A bit gutted as I was hoping to lose 1.5lb to get my stone award, but hey, better than a big gain I guess! We're away next weekend for half term, hoping the week after I get my stone award. Struggling a bit with food ideas because I'm not a cook at all. I don't want to get bored, so I need to come up with some tasty meal ideas, which are easy xx

@MotherOfLittlePeople I completely understand that. I'd like to go to a group but there's no convenient one near me (apart from the really unhelpful one I went to a few years ago) and I couldn't take my DC either! I'd use the SW online plan if it was more affordable - I don't think £20 a month is justifiable just for me to fill in the daily planner.

Thank you for the details @TheTwoSynberries!

@RubySlippers77 it's costing me £10.80 every Monday at the minute because I'm buying hifi bars as well as paying the fee. Seriously debating just doing it online but unsure of the cons of this, bar not getting the certificates.

Lost 3lb today. Got my 2 stone award. Classing that as 1.5lbs for last week and this week.

Youngest now has chicken pox so can see this week been a difficult one 🤦🏻‍♀️

Well done @MotherOfLittlePeople! I did like the SW online system, just didn't think it was worth £5/ week (same as actually going to a group!). Honestly if it was cheaper I'd have carried on, but I couldn't justify an outlay of £45 (for three months) during half term.

@RPow1980 have you had a look at the Two Chubby Cubs? Some great recipe ideas and they have a new cookbook out too!

@RubySlippers77 Funnily enough, I heard of Two Chubby Cubs only recently, I've started listening to a particular podcast and they were interviewed on it. Thanks for the recommendation! Xx

Does anyone know if a flat white coffee with skinmed milk, regular size, count as part of a Hex A rather than 4 syns? If you're allowed up to 350ml of skimmed milk a day, I would have thought it would be a Hex A option? Xx

Report
RubySlippers77 · 20/02/2020 13:28

@RPow1980 I don't drink coffee myself but follow your logic!! If you made it at home presumably you could count it as a Hex A, so it should be ok from Costa (or wherever) as long as it's just plain coffee and milk?

The Two Chubby Cubs have a great Facebook page by the way Grin

Can I jump on board? Like Grumblina above, I also turn 40 this year and all I keep hearing is "it's harder to lose after 40" so panic has struck! After talking to my sister in law I have decided to join Slimming World Monday, mixture of nerves and excitement! I never seem to struggle to lose weight, my issue is keeping it off... I need to be educated, so hoping SW will help! I'm 5' 4" and weigh 14 stone. Got a way to go! Wish me luck!Grin

@RubySlippers77 was it The Secret World of Slimming clubs podcast? It does make me laugh!

So I’m probably a month gone since reaching target. I have struggled to get to group and have put on and lost three pounds so still at target but having to watch myself!

@1980Bird you sound almost the same as me when I stated! Turning 40, 5 3 and almost 14 stone! It definitely worked for me so go for it!

I haven't listened to that one @Halfstonehomerun but will find it soon!!

Good luck @1980Bird, I hope you enjoy the group today Smile
