As we are moving into a new year, I thought we should start a new thread. Everyone is welcome to join who is following the SW plan.

I'm Groovee. Joined my local group in January 2017. Had lost a stone at that point in 6 months. Then took 14 months to lose 4.5st and have been at target since March 2018. I've bumbled my way through target since then. Still attend group regularly as I need the accountability. I'm still learning new things all the time.

Look forward to chatting. As I'm at the top of my target, I want to lose at least 5lb in by February.

Hello!

I previously went to group a few years ago, but so off track since. I've put on around 3stone.

I signed up yesterday! Online; not group. Only because that is the only way with work.

I weigh 11st 4. I'm only 5'1 though!

The new app is great, I love how you can put in what you eat! And it does the syn values etc for you!

Does any one know if you can only buy hifi bars from group?

Report
mollibu · 03/01/2020 13:57

@MotherOfLittlePeople as far as I'm aware they are only for sale at a SW group but I have just had a quick google for you and it said this! (Hope the pic has attached) HTH :)

I've just ordered some! On their website. Have to be a member first.

Thank you both. I'm a member but couldn't find it on the website. I'm going to pop to a different group in the morning and see if I can get some from there with out weighing in. Do you know how much they are per box? X

mollibu · 03/01/2020 18:41

@MotherOfLittlePeople they are £1.95 per box Smile

MotherOfLittlePeople · 03/01/2020 18:50

@mollibu thank you. Thought they would be more than that.

Hi Mollibu,
For quick breakfast you can't beat overnight oats. Lots of recipes online but basically your HEB of oats or oatbran mixed with yoghurt, chopped fruit and a bit of milk or water to loosen. Prep the night before and you're set up for the day.
For weekends I love baked eggs in spicy tomato sauce with greek yoghurt, coriander and cheese from HEA. Also scrambled eggs with bacon medallions, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, asparagus etc.
The one thing i struggle with is what to put on toast. What do you guys use instead of butter?

Report
RubySlippers77 · 03/01/2020 23:24

@Notsomellownow could you have mashed banana? Or something like this which is 2 syns per teaspoon IIRC?

But I do love butter too!

@mollibu you can make pancakes with banana, oats and egg which will make quite a batch, I usually keep some for later in the day as a snack Smile

Thank you both for your breakfast ideas! I really want to try overnight oats so might give them a go tomorrow night. Hope they come out alright Grin

Will I have to syn the banana for the pancakes as it's technically mashed and cooked?

Report
mollibu · 04/01/2020 00:02

Also RE the butter, I am guilty of using my syns on itBlush but another option I use it's using a Lighter Dairy Lee Triangle on my toast / in a sandwich just to make it a bit less dry.

I think you can have up to 6 for your HEXA which is really good!

Notsomellownow · 04/01/2020 01:05

@RubySlippers77 mashed banana is a good idea! I know technically you should syn if mashed but if only one banana....also like the dairylea idea and can split HEA to allow for some milk too i guess. The pancakes sound delish!

@mollibu I often use butter but then forget to syn which I guess adds up fairly fast. Will get some dairylea in. Beans could be another good option with cooked brekkie Grin all this talk of food is making me hungry. Off to sleep before I do any more damage!!

It's 3 years today that I joined SW. Been at target for 21 months.

Fruit for breakfast
Turkey salad for lunch
Cheeseburger pasta for dinner as we have the family round.

@Groovee wow! That's amazing!!

First day back at group today and I'm ashamed at how much I've put on after my hip surgery Blush I was close to tears!

Just finished the Tesco shop and I'm back on it now.

Hi everyone, can I join? I joined sw in sept 2016 and lost four stone. However three pregnancies later and I am back to where I started. Have five stone to lose hopefully this year and weigh in on a Thursday. Hoping having a seven week old keeping me awake all night isn’t going to have me teaching for the chocolate every day!

Hi. I'm Debbie and started SW (again) in July last year. I've lost 2 stone (although 4lb back on over December). Back on it 100% now.

It's clicked this time. Before I have just messed about with the thought of losing weight - starve myself on weigh day and the day before and then pig out the rest of the week.

My weigh in day is a Saturday morning (maintain this week so welln pleased about that for the first weigh in after the new year) and I love my group. The consultant is amazing - so encouraging - and the group is fab.

I'm aiming to lose the 4lb I put on over the next couple of weeks and then another 2 stone after that, giving me a total of 4 stone loss. I haven't set a target yet as I can't visualise myself so I'm just doing it 2 stones at a time. My BMI chart thing says at 5'6 I should be between 8st 3lb and 11st 2lb but I just can't imagine that. I am currently 15st 1lb and a size 16/18. I would like to get down to a 12/14 and whatever that weight is that makes that happen will be the weight I am happy with.

Hi - a question as I can’t tell from SW website. I’d like to join, but will find it hard getting to a group. If I join online could I convert to meetings if I just can’t hold myself accountable? (I know it might cost more but would there be a new joining fee?)

@mollibu don't be ashamed. Surgery takes a lot out of us. Be kind to yourself.

Welcome @mynameisMrG

@Frenzi I'm still classed as overweight but lots of people have been surprised as I am happy and healthy. Do what feels right to you.

@Iwillgotothegym yes you can. They send you a voucher to take to group.

Thanks @mollibu and @MotherOfLittlePeople

Thanks @Groovee - now I just have the painful bit of buying accurate scales and weighing myself.

Started yesterday I have a lot of weight to lose. Club 10 is 2 stone then I'd like to lose a minimum of 4 more. At that stage I'm probably still a few stone overweight.

Feel really committed this time and the difference is I want my health back. Got really scared about how I was treating my body during the Christmas holiday and didn't really enjoy the break.

Wish me luck ladies x

@KinkyDoritowithsparkleson I feel exactly the same. The health benefits are motivating me.

Hi all, I'm joining this post if that's ok. Started back at SW yesterday. I followed it twice, each time after having my children and it worked brilliantly for me. The past couple of years I've suffered with anxiety, depression and I have an inner condition so I have sever bouts of vertigo and vomiting. All these things have led me to become a bit of a recluse and I've piled on the weight. I'm heavier now than when I went back to SW after having my second child!!! I'm in a better place mentally following a period of time with a therapist, so I just feel like I need to get my shit together!! Xx
