As we are moving into a new year, I thought we should start a new thread. Everyone is welcome to join who is following the SW plan.

I'm Groovee. Joined my local group in January 2017. Had lost a stone at that point in 6 months. Then took 14 months to lose 4.5st and have been at target since March 2018. I've bumbled my way through target since then. Still attend group regularly as I need the accountability. I'm still learning new things all the time.

Look forward to chatting. As I'm at the top of my target, I want to lose at least 5lb in by February.

Need to join SW
Is it expensive?

Well done @RPow1980 @mollibu and @OrianaBanana that's brilliant.

My weigh in is in the morning.
Has anyone noticed slow weight loss after exercising?

Life is stressful here. My dad was rushed to hospital on Friday. Will take whatever the scales say on Tuesday.

@EnidBlyton Do you mean the iceland meals? I rarely use them. I tend to cook from scratch and make tasty meals. A lot of it is just sensible eating to be honest. It's £9.95 to join and £4.95 a week at class. You can buy countdowns that make it cheaper. Food wise we spent around £80-100 for 4 of us including packed lunches.

It's definitely not expensive, I spent a lot more on food when I was low carb.

Had my work Christmas meal last night. Managed to stay pretty much on plan as I'd preordered my food.
Butternut squash soup with bread roll and butter (my nod to indulgence!)
Roast beef (cut off the fat) dinner
Cheese course instead of dessert and it was probably less cheese than the 2HEA portions as I didn't eat the blue one and had the apple and grapes and left the biscuits and crackers.
2 bites of a dessert my friend didn't like (it was pretty disappointing) and no alcohol. I'm calling that a win. I probably had all my syns but doubt I went over.

WI tomorrow evening for me.

Glad to hear of all the weight loss. Struggling here and it's only the first week! I'll be lucky to have lost a pound tomorrow night. Have had no fat/butter/oils this week but haven't been great on the alcohol front and had a meal out (Thai) on Saturday so have blown even more syns on top of the daily amounts.
Going to try to be syn free today and tomorrow. Main thing for me is to keep going as even 1lb a week will be good.

Hi all, thought I would get on the thread as I’m back on SW from today.
I have just had my 3rd child 5 weeks ago and I’ve decided I don’t want to be the fat mummy this time round! When I had my sons I was 14.5 stone after I’d given birth ShockBlush. I managed to get down to 10 stone and kept it off for nearly 5 years but after this pregnancy I’ve got about a stone to shift.
I think I’m going to do online rather than classes as childcare is an issue for me.

What are the most up to date sites apart from the official one to find out syns etc? There used to be one on Facebook by Joyce someone or other but I think she’s changed it? I’m just wanting up to date syns on vegetarian products mainly.

Well done to everyone on the losses! I'm really pleased to lose 4lb in my first week, just another 43lb to go Confused I've found the SW website and app a bit fiddly to use (the WW one is more user friendly IMHO!) but the actual meals have been fine, I've adapted a couple of other recipe books to stick more veg in and take out cream/ butter etc.

@Lightsabre do you have an oil spray? I got mine from Amazon and it's helped cut down my oil use. Before I used to slosh in the olive oil with a heavy hand! Also use the air fryer a lot more, make my own SW chips etc.

@Groovee hope everything is ok with your dad Flowers

2lb down this week, which I am very happy with. 3lb away from my first stone, so hopefully be there by the end of the month.

1lb loss for me this week. Very disappointed with it. I have done more exercise and stuck to plan religiously.

Well done every one else on your losses

Thank you RubySlippers77. I am using the one cal spray but have come to the conclusion that I'm eating too much. I had a SW ready meal the other day and it was huge (the sausage pasta one) especially with extra veg. I feel like I'm eating far more than normal. Weigh in tonight but wouldn't be surprised if I've put on 2lbs in my first week as that seems to be what my scales are indicating Sad.

@Lightsabre my scales always show a gain but the scales at weigh in show a loss.

I use my fitness pal to calorie count as well as SW because I think it can be easy to overeat on plan

Hi I’m joining in!!

I started SW sept and lost 1st 1/2 just before Xmas. Then for 3 weeks I went awol and put on 8 1/2lbs 😳

First week back on it and lost 4 1/2lbs which I was sooo pleased with but I need to keep going and stay motivated. I’m a bridesmaid in May next year and the bride is looking at bridesmaid dresses NOW and wants to get them ordered next month!!! I’m going to try and slim as much as I can by then.

I’ve also started the 30 day shred and scared that I’m not gonna see many losses over the next few weeks and that’s gonna demotivate me! I’ve taken measurements so I can keep track that way but also gonna check in on here

I lost 2lbs!! I was in shock as I really thought I'd put weight on. Reading everything I can about SW and aiming for 2lbs off next week too. Just made a lovely 3 egg omelette (would normally have two eggs), with chopped smoked ham, lightly fried potatoes (in one cal spray), tomatoes and broccoli. It was delicious and I made the syns out to be 5 (guesswork a bit on 140gr of smoked chopped ham from Waitrose - wasn't listed online).

Well done again on all the losses!

1 pound off this week. A little relieved as I felt I was running a little low on motivation (this is month 7) so I’m pleased. Still two pounds to target but I’m not even going to aim for next week-maybe two weeks today-fingers crossed.

Well done halfstonehomerun! Only 2lb to go must feel wonderful. Can I ask, as you're nearly at target, has it been a complete lifestyle change?

Hi, joined last week - weighed today and lost 4lb. Need to lose about 4 stone 😢 I did WW years ago and lost 2 stone but obviously it all went back on plus 2 extra! loving SW so far - havnt been hungry at all but struggling to eat the syns..just had a hot chocolate as I hadn't used any all day. Seems silly to have food for the sake of it.

@Lightsabre

I put most of the weight on in the last 5 years after having two children so the lifestyle change is really just going back to what it was pre-children. Post children my portion control had got out of control, I was snacking when I didn’t need to and doing very little exercise.

So it has been a big change from the last few years but not my whole life it that makes sense.

The biggest change for me was realising how often I would sabotage myself! I’m be gained 2 or 3 times in the last 7 months and the old me would have used it as an excuse to sack the whole thing off but I just went straight back to plan.

Hi guys!

Been a while but new year, new thread and I thought I'd show my face.

DD is now 13 months and I'm back at target. I lost the baby weight in 9 months, then the stone that went on the year before by the time she turned 1. I'm currently just under target, having been right at the bottom of target range just before Christmas. I'm currently 100 lbs (smidge more than 7 stone) lighter than my heaviest ever weight which was in 2009 when I met DH.

I'm still breastfeeding (and have no plans to stop) and DD is a total boob monster, and hasn't really reduced her feeds since solids were introduced so I'm still having 5 HEs a day. It's a bit annoying as she's got CMPA (cows milk protein allergy) so we're both dairy free and have been since she was 7 months - no more living on cheese for me!

I'm struggling to maintain without eating loads of syns and so am contemplating lowering my target by half a stone now Christmas is out of the way. If I lose that by Mother's Day, I'll be the same weight at 43 as I was at 16 (when I first thought I was fat and joined a slimming club).

Hi can I join you all? I finally came back to SW 4 weeks ago because the scales showed me I was the heaviest I’ve ever been Shock I’m in the zone at the moment and got my half stone award last night. I’ve heard many people mention using an air fryer. I’m thinking of getting one after pay day as the rest of the family won’t eat my homemade SW chips or wedges. Any recommendations on the best one? Or good tips on making SW chips more appealing to non dieters?
