Crocs - if we offered Mumsnetters a discount, do we need adult sizes?

So we are hoping to get a Crocs discount partner on board and we've found one who will do up to size 3 (ie kids). Apparently, they tell us, there's no point doing adult ones because no women will be seen dead in them... we'd be much better off with flip flops. Can this be true - will you be buying yourself a pair of Fushia Cayman's this year?
(I speak as someone who wears little else all summer but I fear I'm not exactly with it)

no way would I wear crocs.

Flip flops. Sexy flip flops, in fuschia, hot pink, purple, turqouise, with beeds, flowers....

Flip flops makes me forget my age, and think that I am on a beach.

Crocs? They make me think about hospital corridors, I dont know why.

stealthsquiggle · 03/03/2009 21:48

There is no potential discount partner is there, Justine? It was just a slow morning in MNTowers and you decided to start a fight...

FannyWaglour · 03/03/2009 21:58

no, I think they are just trying to work out the demographics. Out with Boden and great little trading, in with Hello! and Crocs!

sasamaxx · 03/03/2009 22:05

Oh yes - best 'house and garden shoes' in the world!!

kikid · 03/03/2009 22:23

lol, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

CROCS ARE FOR CHILDREN.

Silly on adults..

solo · 03/03/2009 23:03

Eeeuw! Not for my plates of meat thanks!

thatsnotmymonster · 03/03/2009 23:05

I love my crocs. Wore them all last summer and they are especially great on the beach/sea etc.

I love flip flops too- just not nearly as comfy for walking in.

JulesJules · 03/03/2009 23:28

Yes please I'll buy them

Vamonos · 03/03/2009 23:40

Yep - adult size 5/6 if you please.

RoseOfTheOrient · 04/03/2009 02:27

erm, no thanks...
fab quote from India Knight in the Sunday Times, on why fashion still matters in a recession "because spending July in Crocs isn?t exactly aesthetically life-enhancing (and if you?ve lost your job, having feet like a troll?s ain?t gonna help the general mood one bit)"

alipiggie · 04/03/2009 05:16

Well I'd buy them and I have two pairs already, but heck I live in "Croc" land called the Republic of Boulder where they were invented and until recently manufactured. Although slight put off knowing the new CEO is going to be paid roughly $850K per annum . So buy 'em whilst they're cheap ladies. They have to pay that salary somehow. Seriously though they're a great buy. And no they don't make your feet smell at all.

wotulookinat · 04/03/2009 08:37

India Knight is hardly God, is she?

Astrophe · 04/03/2009 08:54

I think flip flops are the way forward - but DH and I both have crocs flip flops! So yes, bigger sizes!

JulesJules · 04/03/2009 09:27

Well I said yes to crocs yesterday, and have now just had to buy a new pair of Birkies [faints] Please can we have a Birkenstock discount, and 10% just won't do it...

notevenamousie · 04/03/2009 09:44

Merrell sandals all the way here I'm afraid - I have never yet worn a pair out to destruction (but am tempted by purple crocs to wear as slippers!).

wotzy · 04/03/2009 10:10

Merrell, now I found good reviews on these. I want some light strappy water/swim sandal type things for the dds this year, ones that don't look like scuba shoes, or bratz shoes, or mens hiking boots. Any ideas?

I love my crocs sooo comfy, although will be looking at a different version to the cayman this year!! Will keep wathing though as DS wants some new crocs and is rejecting the timberland skipper sandals I like

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 04/03/2009 10:41

You wouldn't even attempt to do this if Cod was still around.

Mintyy · 04/03/2009 10:46

No need to ask for adult size crocs on my account either ...

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 04/03/2009 11:34

I hate them - with a passion.

My inlaws wear them all the time and think they are v.trendy for having about 10 pairs each to match various outfits shudder

MadameCastafiore · 04/03/2009 11:43

No.

Because no self respecting adult with a sense of style would even consider wearing them!

MamaG · 04/03/2009 11:58

If you do this, I may flounce
