Crocs - if we offered Mumsnetters a discount, do we need adult sizes?

So we are hoping to get a Crocs discount partner on board and we've found one who will do up to size 3 (ie kids). Apparently, they tell us, there's no point doing adult ones because no women will be seen dead in them... we'd be much better off with flip flops. Can this be true - will you be buying yourself a pair of Fushia Cayman's this year?
(I speak as someone who wears little else all summer but I fear I'm not exactly with it)

Lynette - if only
Before each exam they (the powers that be) make us walk up and down to check our shoes are quiet!!

MAS, thank you for the special concession

wotzy · 03/03/2009 17:58

Agree with cocolepew
Now converse, that would be good.

hippipotamiHasLostFourPounds · 03/03/2009 17:59

Converse would be good too - ds (as well as new crocs) wants a pair of brown converse hi-tops. He is very specific and is not to be fobbed off with an imitation brand.
Sigh. That child is going to be expensive...

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/03/2009 18:23

I approve of Converse - they are fab

mosschops30 · 03/03/2009 18:24

Yes I wear them for work, at home, out the garden in the summer.
Pretty much live in my variety of colours come the summer time

charlieandlola · 03/03/2009 18:29

Yes please to crocs for dh and kids
Yes please to converse for me.
All shoe discounts gratefully received.

bundle · 03/03/2009 18:29

you'd be mad not to offer discount for adults too

bundle · 03/03/2009 18:30

but what about birkies?

louii · 03/03/2009 18:43

I wear the Mary-jane ones, wear them to work and all summer, need a few more pairs.

hippipotamiHasLostFourPounds · 03/03/2009 18:44

Not sure about converse for me though MAS. I fear I would look like someone who has forgotten she is approaching 40

Ronaldinhio · 03/03/2009 18:55

Perhaps as a punishment

QOD · 03/03/2009 18:59

er umm how embarassing (quickly re packs the fuschia crocs back up and returns to Empire)

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/03/2009 19:19

tsk tsk hippi - you can wear them after 40 - and you aren't even there yet !

FrannyandZooey · 03/03/2009 19:21

??? is it april fool's come early?

and molly - "walking, boating, swimming, beaches, camping, gardening"
i manage to do all these without putting my foot in a croc

LadyOfWaffle · 03/03/2009 19:29

Geez, whatever happened to normal shoes [nostalgic]

hippipotamiHasLostFourPounds · 03/03/2009 19:40

Really MAS? Because my best friend wears them (pink high tops) and looks fab, but she is a very young 36, very sporty and very trendy.
I fall short of all of those...

Lindenlass · 03/03/2009 20:07

Yes, they're the only shoe that stopped my pelvis hurting when I was heavily pregnant. Now, with four children, comfort is the most important thing on my agenda and I love my crocs! I also have two female friends who wear them the whole time, and my mum and Grandma wear them at home for their backs too.

Heifer · 03/03/2009 20:28

I would be as interested in a discount on crocs as I would be with a discount on a brazilian..

although both would ensure the same outcome, ie looking like a twt (and the is not an i) ....

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 03/03/2009 20:50

I was going to get a pair for taking camping this year so yes please to adult sizes!

BecauseImWorthIt · 03/03/2009 20:52

I have inherited DS2's black high top Converses, as he has grown out of them!

Jaamy · 03/03/2009 21:25

Urghhh! to Crocs I'm afraid. But then again I don't have to stand on my feet for umpteen hours a day or have a cat that pees/is sick on my feet!

AlistairSim · 03/03/2009 21:27

I think I would rather put my feet into a pair of real crocs, thanks.

This is just like one of those bumsex threads.
I shall be reading the croc-wearer's posts with a knowing smirk from now on.

LiffeyBag · 03/03/2009 21:33

2 yrs ago I thought they were horrible!

I definitely won't buy a pair now!

Dalrymps · 03/03/2009 21:34

I'm afraid they're like Marmite, you either love em or ya hate em.

I wear them to walk the dog on the beach so yes, I would love a discount!

NotAnOtter · 03/03/2009 21:39

i wear them - sometimes!

what better to garden in or go walk down to - and in 0 the river

crocs rock
