Xenophobia, homophonic, transphobia

Are you gonna do anything about it? Like, i know the line is that shoving the madness in the feminism board means it's not transphobia. And I know it's been done to death but I'm sick of it. It's not acceptable. Xenophobia, racism and homophobia also increasing.
And no. I won't leave. This is the biggest forum of its kind and it needs to represent and respect us all. And care that it's not.

Please be my guest someone and tell me why you think a group of men should use women only spaces.

I know the answer to this one Eresh...it's because they're men and they want to and because they want to they should have what they want, only an utter * would deny them this.

Can you not see that your comment is transphobic?

Lots of perpetrators out there. Men, and women, and trans people.

We distinguish the dodgy ones the same way for we do for everyone - gut feeling, observation of questionable behaviour etc.

I’d much rather be in the company of someone who is openly trans than feeling like I’m with someone who is hiding that part of themselves away.

Can you explain to me how it is transphobic to want to be able to identify predatory, dangerous males in the single sex spaces I use, @Darker? I won’t hold my breath - because the accusation of transphobia is being used to silence a valid question.

Do you deny that, as a sex class, men are dangerous to women - not all of them, but enough of them that we have created single sex spaces so women and girls can have safety, privacy and dignity? Do you think women’s and girls’ safety is yours to give away?

And I bet they only exist in the societies where women have equal rights, @NowSober. They aren’t in repressive societies where women’s rights have been systematically stripped away, and girls and women can’t access education, or work, or drive or even exist in public without being shrouded head to toe in fabric.

Paradoxically Iran where homosexuality carries the death penalty is the world leader in male to female gender reassignment surgery.

Yes, I also suspect that’s the answer.

Bear in mind that we are talking about 0.5% of the population. Who have always existed.

What? They’re like immortal? So if you become trans you become immortal? Where do I sign up?

Sorry, I must be a bit slow this morning as I don't understand this point. Please can you help me by explaining in words of one syllable why the following comment is transphobic?

"I too would like to know how to distinguish between a trans woman and a pervy, dangerous man"

Yes im curious…i think i know why they think thatthough, so not saying it first 😀

(I don’t think its transphobic but would be happy to learn why)

Apparently if you become trans you’re not capable of harming anyone, ever. If you point out the failings of this you are transphobic. Or something like that.

So you decide who can be a Guide leader based on a gut feeling?
And who can take the year 3 girls into the common changing room?
Sorry, that's not good enough. And not workable even if it was.
How can you tell which men can do this and which can't?

Those roles are subject to safer recruitment practices.

They allowed men to self ID into them until recently.

lavenderrosedaisy · 03/07/2026 08:21

It’s disgusting and I hate it. Refusing to use preferred pronouns/names, the hatred towards parents of trans children who support them, it’s all just so aggressive. The worries about women’s only spaces/sports are valid concerns but the way they’re discussed is just awful.

Thankfully in my circle everyone is much more rational, considerate and accepting - including the trans people I know.

drspouse · 03/07/2026 08:24

@lavenderrosedaisy do you think girls should have to say "she" for a boy and let him use their changing room and play on their team?
Or are you "affirming" for some things and not others?

@lavenderrosedaisy It is not respectful to gaslight women to deny their lived experience as the oppressed sex class to allow their oppressors to claim our oppression in order to cosplay unwillingly with men. It is disgusting. It's misogynistic, hateful, cruel and disrespectful to the history of women and our oppression. What do you think it does to women and girls being asked by males to call them she? Do you think that is really a reasonable request? Foxes don't get the right to demand hens call them hens.

Would it be respectful and 'not disgusting' to demand African Americans call Rachel Dolezal, a snow white anglo saxon white woman who wears an afro wig and tans her skin with bronzer as a black woman?

Well, would it? Should African Americans be gaslit to call Rachel Dolezal, a black woman? Have the courage and honesty to answer the question.
The oppressor does not have the right to gaslight and manipulate the oppressed to adopt the oppressor as one of theirs. Among people who aren't anti-women extremists, it is not considered normal for the oppressor to make demands of the oppressed to include the oppressor.

@lavenderrosedaisy There is also the fact that using preferred pronouns is the GATEWAY to violation of womens spaces, of which you say concerns there are reasonable. Maybe you just haven't thought too deeply about this issue?

In fact, affirming wrong-sex pronouns is where the whole violation of womens boundaries started from. Most of us women have learned that by now. It was demonstrably a bad idea from the start to affirm wrong-sex pronouns. Many of us saw it and warned people yet handmaids said it was ok and still simp for it even in light of the damage we've seen caused by it.

"The worries about women’s only spaces/sports are valid concerns but the way they’re discussed is just awful."

It is only in recent years that these issues have been allowed to be discussed at all. Such was the puritanical zeal of the trans movement anyone who raised these 'valid' concerns were shouted down, bullied out of workplaces for wrong think, subject to social media pile ons, doxxed and threatened. Scratch beneath the sparkly rainbows and be kind rhetoric you found an extremely aggressive, toxic, misogynistic movement that did not want any discussion or debate but total subservience. Have a long hard look at the behaviour of large sections of the trans movement and then talk to us about what is 'awful'.

'Men, and women, and transpeople' - othering people is dehumanising and transphobic. Trans people are also men and women.

Sex and Gender-reassignment are separate characteristics. Everyone has a sex (which is immutable), some people have the protected characteristic of gender-reassignment.

I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of safeguarding. The rules are the same for everyone - and male adults, no matter their gender-reassignment status - are high risk compared to women, as well as larger and stronger on average, and the vast majority of perpetrators of violence. As such, safeguarding means that we exclude them all from women's spaces, and are extra careful with them around children.

Crucially, just because males are the highest risk, we still perform the same safeguarding with women who work with children, because no-one is provably safe, and letting some people skip it just because of some characteristic is breaking safeguarding.

Soontobe60 · 03/07/2026 10:27

Darker · 01/07/2026 09:21

The fundamental problem here is that many posters can only think of trans people as their sex assigned at birth, and don’t see that there is a difference between a cis man and a trans woman. They treat trans women as predatory males.

This is an erasure of trans people.

It also ignores intersex people entirely.

So no balanced argument is possible.

There is no such category as ‘cis man’, sex isn’t ’assigned at birth’ and ‘transwomen’ ARE males.

So the transpeople you know use the facilities relevant to their sex as they understand that is the considerate thing to do? Awesome!!!

AhhhSchtop · 03/07/2026 10:46

Just to clear a few things up @Darker

I don’t accept the term ‘cis’ and I object to being called a cis-woman. I’m just a woman - an adult human female.

My sex wasn’t ‘assigned’ at birth. The midwife who delivered me, and my mother who gave birth to me, observed that I was female.

I don’t treat ALL transwomen as predatory males. I view them as biologically male, and thus subject to the same laws and rules that protect women and girls as all other biological males - including my lovely son, dad etc. My son is not predatory. My dad is not a rapist. The rules still apply to them, though, and they don’t get a pass because I like them / they are nice people.

You believe people can change sex just by ‘feeling’ like the opposite sex. That is an ideological viewpoint.

I believe sex is real and cannot be changed. Thats not an ideology - it’s biology.

The fundamental problem is actually that you can’t force people into believing an ideology just because you believe it, anymore than you can force an atheist to believe in Jesus.
