Xenophobia, homophonic, transphobia

1000 replies

spstchmu · 29/06/2026 01:52

Are you gonna do anything about it? Like, i know the line is that shoving the madness in the feminism board means it's not transphobia. And I know it's been done to death but I'm sick of it. It's not acceptable. Xenophobia, racism and homophobia also increasing.
And no. I won't leave. This is the biggest forum of its kind and it needs to represent and respect us all. And care that it's not.

How’s “if you’re a tomboy girl attracted to other girls but is told that she’s a straight boy” going?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/07/2026 20:31

Gender identity ideology is breathtakingly homophobic.

@spstchmu - do you think lesbian women should be told they have to accept penetrative sex from a man who has retained his penis but declared himself to be a woman and a lesbian? Should they receive death threats, rape threats, threats of violence for saying they only want sex with biological women?

Trans women who have declared themselves lesbian want to use accusations of bigotry to force women to have PIV sex with them - can you see how abusive and, frankly, rape-y that is?

Surely attempting to force lesbian women into PIV sex with males is textbook homophobia!

Sure buddy…. I just thought you were against grammar bigots

Is all the 'correct information' going to be released in some sort of secret data dump one day where all the big old meanie poo poo heads AKA TERFs will all read it and go 'Oh, I see, so that's how men change into women, its the blah blah blah that changes when they say I'm a lady, got it'?

Surely one of you can let us into this classified information that you all seem to have that you keep so close to your chests? How were you chosen to have this classified info explained to you in such detail that you totally understand it and we are just thickos who don't get it?

Absolutely agree. Mumsnet is rife with transphobia, racism and Islamophobia these days, it’s quite disheartening.

I do believe it is generational and will die out eventually though. I work with young people and holding these views will lead to being a social pariah.

It is also against the Mumsnet talk guidelines yet mods do nothing about it.

I am a senior citizen and do not hold these views!Absolutely ant. So please don't let ageism colour your responses.

I imagine they’re totally on the brink of telling us exactly why we should think some men are women, they just haven’t got around to it.

It’s really quite enlightening, and very little more remains to be said, given that these people have had ample chances to back up their fringe views with facts and reasoned arguments. The lack says it all.

The fundamental problem here is that many posters can only think of trans people as their sex assigned at birth, and don’t see that there is a difference between a cis man and a trans woman. They treat trans women as predatory males.

This is an erasure of trans people.

It also ignores intersex people entirely.

So no balanced argument is possible.

Hello there, you seem to know what you're talking about.
I am interested in finding out the difference between a cis man and a trans woman; you are quite firm that there is one.
I am keen to understand, and learn, and would appreciate your input.

Thank you.

Darker · 02/07/2026 09:18

@TheyAreLovelyLovelyPeople I’m not an expert and I’m not trans myself so I can’t provide you with an answer that will satisfy the apparent need to come to a definition.

But some of the things I think about are

  • none of the trans men and women I know seem to have made a ‘choice’, about their gender identity any more than we make choices about sexuality. It seems to be innate. And I believe that people shouldn’t be ‘othered’ for something that they have no choice over.
  • Scientists have not yet agreed what it is that makes people transgender, but there are studies that suggest genetic variation, which is a biological phenomenon. I’m not remotely qualified to comment on this.
  • none of the trans people I know reflect the caricatures I see portrayed on these boards - ‘bearded men in tutus’. There is lots of variation in terms of how much they want to do to affirm their gender.
  • history is full of transgender and gender fluid people. It’s not a new thing. But western society - based on the church? - has generally promoted legally binding male-female relationships. Possibly for reasons of social and economic control. We are socially conditioned from an early age to favour these models. It’s only in the last few decades that being anything other than heterosexual has been acceptable in the UK. I think many of the younger generation are more aware and open minded about gender identity.
  • I worry like anyone else on the boards does about women’s safety. The men who have hurt me and all the women in know have been heterosexual cis men. Transwomen, in my view, are not the problem here.

“Apparent need”, well yes, if you want to reorganise society round your beliefs in a way that disadvantages or harms others, many people are going to ask to see your workings, at the very least.

This may well be true of some people. Certainly not of all people who say they are the opposite sex. There are many clearly deranged men who really should not be in female spaces.

All of this however does not miraculously change them into the opposite sex.

That's the whole crux of the issue.

By all means carve out whatever you want to do to facilitate them being safe in the toilets and changing rooms, start a 'pee next to me' campaign but forcing the whole world to adopt their delusions is never going to work.

No matter how many 'stop being a meanie' threads you start or contribute to.

How do you explain transwomen offenders then? How do you explain that they are over represented in prison for sexual offending? How does any of what you say overrule the rights of women to have single sex spaces and sports for whatever reason they choose?

Anorexic people don’t choose to be anorexic either, but society doesn’t affirm them as fat. That
doesn’t equate to denying they exist or that they aren’t treated with care.

Could I, as a white person, identify as being black? If not why not?

Yes here we are, as you continue to demonstrate you have no remotely convincing argument for why a “trans woman” is different to other men in any other sense than he has said he is a woman.
