Huge adverts making site unusable

I am being plagued by a Taylor Wimpey advert. It takes up the whole page and makes it impossible to scroll. Please get it removed or made smaller.

I'm really not the target audience.

I just had some large advert which blasted into rock music (Robbie Williams) and every time I tried to hit the mute button in the ad, it acted like I’d clicked on it as an interested person and opened a tab still playing the awful music! I couldn’t get it to go away and ended up having to close the whole tab and re-log into MN.

Getting big Bentley ads which are impossible to close. I also had the entire site freeze and crash earlier because it couldn't load whatever ad it was I was scrolling into. Honestly a pain in the arse - but this has been going on for well over a month now! Whether it's Tu, Siemens etc.

I often get a huge Siemens ad that you can’t get rid of it, when you try it automatically takes you to the Siemens website. Massively annoying.

I'm now getting this bloody Nespresso advert at the bottom of the page - so the blue band with active, watching etc is obscured.😡

For F's sake!! Can you not get this sorted?

Thanks for your patience. We have an update here - we know it was a really frustrating issue, and we appreciate how much information you've all shared (both on this thread and via email).

We have released a permanent fix for this. It's a large fix for all issues relating to ad sizes, so there may be some teething problems. We're hoping this isn't the case, but we'd be grateful if you could keep us updated.

Screenshot for you as well. I was just on one of the threads on my I'm On list (the refusing antenatal care one as it happens) when it popped up. It is super super shit that this sort of thing is happening on your website, it's scammy and horrible and people will accidentally click on things they shouldn't be being exposed to. I cannot fathom why your IT team are unable to address this issue.

Also - I seem unable to stop the url being turned into a link!

I've just had the same as the two posters above with the scam antivirus.

I was on the small changes thread, Edge on PC.

Kitchenaid appeared again for me yesterday - laptop on chrome

I don't know about anyone else, but for me the KitchenAid and scam virus alerts have never stopped, though there's now an added garnish of further ones and site freezing

So much for the "permanent fix" ...

Ive just had a huge advert for Aston University Computer Science course show up in AIBU. The irony wasn't lost on me.

I’m also being constantly bombarded with the giant Vtech and Leapfrog ads on my IPad using Chrome. Very frustrating.

The site is currently unusual. It crashed about 10 times for me yesterday where I had to close it down completely and come back. I'm not even sure of the ad anymore

That Bentley one is still having my life. Phone heats up trying to load the damned thing. Then the ruddy ad keeps getting repeated so phone crashes constantly.

Either have moving ones or big ones. Both big and moving are unreasonable.

I’m Getting constant issues with the site freezing and crashing and I’m fairly sure it’s a problem with loading the adverts. 😡 very annoying

No issues on any other sites like this which makes me wonder how shockingly poor the tech on here actually is.

The mn site on safari iPhone constantly crashes, goes blank and doesn't load. It's painful.

I downloaded the app, which is useless. You can't reply to messages that already contain a quote - why not?!

I've been on mn for over 13 years and will probably leave as the site is so unusable.
