Huge adverts making site unusable

I am being plagued by a Taylor Wimpey advert. It takes up the whole page and makes it impossible to scroll. Please get it removed or made smaller.

Ginormous blue Boots ad filling the whole screen, have to come out of the thread to get away from it. Using Chrome browser on Samsung phone. Still it'll make me get off mumsnet and clean....

I've got a red Boots one. Makes each thread it comes up on unusable

I've had a variety this morning but just got stuck on a Clairol one - Chrome browser on Samsung phone. I have to close mumsnet and go back in as it just freezes the screen

Me too. Can't scroll past it unless you pre empty it and go for a super swipe. Annoying and also repeated three times on each page. I'm having to press the back button to escape any threads I'm reading and I'm missing content.

What's a superswipe? It's very annoying.

I bloody hate the ‘Boots one’ it fills the whole screen so very difficult to swipe up or down.

And the Amazon toddler walking toy. You can ever so gently scroll past itnbutnitsbjust waiting there for you to barely touch it and straight to the Amazon site. I must have been onto Amazon at least 25 times in the last two weeks. Very narrow block bar saying…scroll for content. Plus its pulses so even if you think you are touching black bar it moves and it’s onto Amazon

Admittedly I'm completely hopeless with tech, but is anyone able to explain how this comes to happen in the first place - and then keeps happening?

I mean it's Mumsnet's own site, presumably under their control, so how come advertisers are apparently able to hijack it like this?

seriously I do not have these issues with glitching and ads causing issues on any other site.

This is happening to me with a yours clothing advert. The same the advert has been shown 5 times just on this thread, and makes it impossible to scroll

I have the Boots one too. Unable to scroll up or down

I keep getting them, they make my phone screen freeze as I cant scroll past. Another one automatically plays the audio when I'm scrolling on a thread when I've got it set to not do that.

We're so sorry that these ads are still causing problems.

If anyone's able to post a screenshot of the Boots ad that's cropping up, that would be helpful, as would the URL if possible.

We can see that some of you have said that the ad's appeared on this very thread. Where else on the site is it showing? If you could also let us know which device and browser and which version of the site you're using, that would be great.

The Boots one as well here. My whole screen freezes then goes blank and back to the beginning of the page. You have to scroll really quickly to miss it otherwise it fills the whole screen and you can’t move up or down!

Still getting them. All over today most recent one being whilst on Threads I'm On, and clicking onto the most recent one. ALso had the security warning one again today. It's not very confidence inspiring that you don't seem able to identify the problem and fix it.

They're bloody everywhere and every time this sort of thing happens you expect the users to screen shot and this that and the other
I never have issues like this on other sites
Maybe building a site and having decent tech support to prevent stuff like this would be more in keeping with a site with millions of users and loads of advertising revenue

It's happening on most threads for me. I'm using the mobile site, Google Chrome on an android

It's starting to look as if this is just something that'll have to be expected if folk wish to use the site - after all the usual info HQ request has all been provided for previous ads and they're still appearing too, with new ones popping up all the time

I don't know if an adblocker would stop them and I'm reluctant to use one as that doesn't seem fair, but this is getting silly now

I'm not seeing a boots ad, but still having problems with a yours clothing one. It's the size and frequency that is causing the problem. Can you not just put limits on these?

It’s been happening with a Bentley ad for me.
