Huge adverts making site unusable

I am being plagued by a Taylor Wimpey advert. It takes up the whole page and makes it impossible to scroll. Please get it removed or made smaller.

I keep getting this. It's a massive blank ad that stops me reading a thread and freezes the page so I can't even go back to a previous page.

And again now with a small blank ad that froze the page.

I often get the ad at the bottom of the page as well:

Me too - I’ve been putting up with it but finally had enough so came on here to mention it.

it happens on Google Chrome and Safari on my iPhone. The ad won’t load, I get the spinning icon and it totally freezes. The only way to get past it is to close the browser and reload it (which probably changes the ad the site is trying to load).

This happens pretty much every time I use MN. My guess is, it could be caused by the filters on our Wi-Fi (for security to stop the kids accessing inappropriate material) - maybe you’re sending ads that are in some way related to sex sites?

And the fake virus has hit again this morning!!!

What's the fake virus?

It purports to be a McAfeee tthing, @Zonder (if you've not yet seen this it'll doubtless be along shortly) and tries to upload something (?) to your system even if you don't click on it

I keep checking back here to see if HQ have sorted it yet so I can turn off the adblocker I installed, but fortunately it's keeping the virus away for now, along with the full page ads, the site crashing and all the rest

Still happening. Blocks whole page and I can't even swipe to go back because it just freezes and I have to close the page.

The KitchenAid and Dove Body Scrub ads are still relentlessly looming across my screen. iPad/Chrome.

I have never searched for these products.

These responses feel disingenuous. Surely it’s not the individual companies/ads causing the issues, but rather the fact Mumsnet is selling the giant ad space?

You allocate a certain number of pixels for ads. Presumably you are intentionally putting these giant full-page ads. The ad company wouldn’t be able to make their ad take up more space than you allocated them.

I constantly have Amazon ads that pop up and fill the whole screen, and then they stay there. I can only read threads from the bottom third of my screen. It always seems to be Amazon ones.
