Huge adverts making site unusable

I am being plagued by a Taylor Wimpey advert. It takes up the whole page and makes it impossible to scroll. Please get it removed or made smaller.

No i don't get giant ads but i get blank white pages and nothing even to click to close it. need to refresh the page and lose my spot

Twice yesterday and once today I have had a pop up covering the site saying that a virus has been detected and urging me to click to get protection. Very worrying.

I'm not getting the giant ads anymore but I am getting the virus/spam ones, also the pages constantly crashing and white blank pages instead
on my laptop only, not on my phone

I was just coming on to report this.

I can open a thread, have enough time to read about 3 posts, then the screen goes white.

Been happening for about 4 days now.

I'm getting this too - only a couple of time a day, whereas the blank white pages are almost every thread.

Thank you @HebeMumsnet those giant adverts have since stopped.

Today, I can barely read 2 posts on a thread, and it just reverts to a blank white page.

No particular thread, any I've tried, from both 'Threads I'm on' and 'Active'

I'm another one getting the blank pages I can't scroll past.

The blank pages are making the site unusable for me. It's about every thirty seconds now.

Hi there @TinyTear. It sounds like an ad that's not loading? Could that be it? Is there anything at all to give anything away about what the ad might be? We'll start looking into it now but any more info anyone can give (where they were when they saw it, screen grabs, whether they're on the app or main site etc) would be really helpful. Thanks!

Yeah, that is what I think - like the huge Kitchen Aid, but now it just jumps white and there is nothing we can do...

Unfortunately not any clues on what advert it may be, but it's happening super regularly - chrome on windows laptop.

@HebeMumsnet I've been getting the blank screen issue for several days now. It's sporadic - things can run normally for a time then the white screens start to appear every few seconds while scrolling. This only happens on MN, not on any other sites that I use and I certainly don't click on ads.

Main site, Microsoft Edge on Windows 11. Nothing to screen grab - it's just a blank page.

This problem has been notified to MN numerous times across 3 threads on Site Stuff so I'm very surprised it hasn't yet been fixed.

It's getting ridiculous, the site is barely usable and it's the same for me as @MrsGusset says except that I am using Chrome.

There is nothing to screengrab, the site just goes white and it's happening continually.

I’m getting the white screen too, then completely freezes and I have to close the page. It’s really frustrating, I don’t get this with any other website.

The white screen does look like something loading but, out of curiosity, I left it for a few minutes last time and nothing loads. It doesn't even seem to be trying to load, just blank white screen. And it stays blank.

Unusable yesterday - literally every few seconds, whatever the thread.

Doesn't seem to be trying to load anything. just goes to a blank, white page.
It is on all things I've tried to read on MN (I go in from 'Threads I'm on', or 'Active', or 'Unanswered Threads and it does them on all.

I'm on a laptop, using Chrome.
