Was anyone on here a tester for this awful new site?

If so, is it appearing as you saw it during the testing and approval phases, or did it look better and then go horribly wrong somehow?

I wasn't, but they advertised for testers for ages! Did you not see the ads or did you just not want to test it?

They had loads of testing - way more than usual.

Of course, lots weren't actually ever able to log into the Beta site to test it so that didn't bode well.

It really is poor- just not user friendly. What was up with the old format?

No one could have used this as it is and thought it looked OK visually never mind any of the functionality.

It is a bit clunky. Not sure what putting everything in bold font is meant to bring to the party,

I just came here to see what the hell is going on, it’s terrible. I can’t even find active chats. Everything is in the middle of the screen on iPad.

I’m just really curious as to what the testers actually saw. MN have said that there was a lot of user testing, but there are so many glitches, issues, loss of functionality and so on that I wonder what happened during the testing phase - what was identified as ‘needs improved’ and ‘good to go’. It’d be great to hear from posters who were involved.

Looks like a poor copy of the Reddit style layout - definitely not very user-friendly at all.

It's fine on my mobile. Slight changes to the appearance and fonts but nothing world ending!

It is so ugly, not user friendly and I would,question if they had a UX designer involved at all!

I tried to but struggled to log in. I think I successfully got in once but didn't manage to get in again. And judging by the number of threads/posts/responses, my experience wasn't unusual.

Visually, it looks fine to me. No white space at all. But it’s the “you must consent” message that appears every time you click on something that makes it unusable for me, no matter how many times you say accept.

Why does it keep asking me to consent ?? Annoying

Literally not understanding what all the fuss is about. It's not that different.

It reminds me of how the desktop site used to look.

I’m using voiceover and it is most definitely not user friendly with a screenreader.

I don’t know about fonts and things but I can’t believe that numerous people tested this and thought it was good, especially when I haven’t seen a single thread here praising the new look/format. Not one.

It really bothers me that any time I make a comment it’s now in green, as well as anything from the OP being green too

I agree with posters who say its not user friendly. I didn't test it, but this is like going backwards. There is so much wasted space. Its clunky, and I keep getting message that I need to log in, when I have already logged in. I tried the app today that's even worse.. maybe it was always like this, but the colour scheme of purple n white is soo bright n not soothing to eyes. I am going to uninstall the app.
I was even wondering I should stop using mumsnet as much as I do because I have just struggled with it today.

Are they making it worse on purpose so we have to pay for premium?

Yes, the consent at every turn! So frustrating!

The new design is awful. Wish they'd roll it back!
