Can't scroll past some adverts

I'm on an android phone using chrome, on some threads I will reach an advert and then cannot scroll past it!

If I remember rightly, I saw a thread saying the same thing l, so I didn't post as I assumed it would be fixed, it still seems to be happening though!

Is premium actually any better?! If Mumsnet could make a functioning website, they would've made a functioning website.

I've got premium and yes it's very good. No ads at all, very slick. More than happy to pay the equivalent of a coffee a month for it tbh. I've been on here for almost 20 years and it's a lifeline so happy to pay to enjoy the site. It's a fiver a month.

Same thing happens for me, Chrome and Android. Happened on this thread 🙄

I have blocks where ads should be, but no ads.

This is similar to my issue. And it duesnt nice off the top of my screen. So I can only read a few lines at a time.

I was struggling on this site for a few weeks using Chrome on an Android phone. After my son installed this ad blocker I have had no problems. I get white spaces where the adverts would be and can scroll down easily.

Sorry we still haven't got back to you on this. It is being looked into but now the holidays mean it's going to take us a little while longer before we have an update. Thanks again for your patience here and for sharing screenshots - they are very useful.

Yup, nothings changed. It's happening much more regularly for me too.

Hard to think of a professional workplace where a significant issue in the product which directly impacts customers is just ignored for weeks.

@StartupRepair I'm guessing they feel we are all unlikely to run off to NM 😆

Afternoon, everyone.

Sorry for the delay in a response here. Tech have been looking at this behind the scenes but are having trouble replicating the issue in order to work out whether the issue is down to an ad, more than one ad, our site, or something else entirely.

So, if this is still happening and anyone can bear it, could you please post here with the following next time you see it?

1. The device and browser you are using, and whether you're on app, desktop, mobile etc.
2. A screengrab of the ad you think is causing the issue.
3. The url of the page it has appeared on.
4. A description of any actions you'd just taken, eg 'opened this page', 'clicked on a link', 'refreshed page', 'navigated forward or back to another page on the same thread'... that kind of thing.

With a bit more information, Tech will hopefully be able to replicate what's going on and from there find out what's causing it.

I'm on a pixel phone using chrome. It usually happens just as I'm reading through a thread so I haven't taken any action other than scrolling down. Will try and send a screen shot next time it happens.

The grey advert box at the top of my screen never moves when I’m on a thread.
The text goes under it.

Still playing up for me and managed to get a screenshot. Using chrome on android. Just scrolling through a thread and it's almost as if an advert struggles to load so as you scroll down, the page just shows white then completely freezes and back button / links across the bottom such as "watching" stop working and nothing happens when you click.

I can't believe this thread has been going on so long and I've just found it!
I thought it was just me struggling!

I'm on android using chrome. Every time one of those big adverts appears in the middle of a thread my phone just freezes.
It's driving me crazy!
I have to turn my phone off and on a few times, or go back a page or go off MN and back on until it will scroll down again.
Also I will be reading a post and my screen will keep jumping back up the page so I have to keep scrolling back down to where I was.

It’s been like it for weeks.

Something similar has just started happening for me. I can read the first post but hit where the ad usually is and the rest of the page is just scrolling white. Safari on iPhone.

This is so annoying.

I can’t tell you what the ads were for because they never appeared, but I’m using Chrome on an iPhone 7 and the thread was www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/4460309-Live-parking

This is what happens to me - the add seems to freeze the page and I can’t do anything. I have to close safari down and then come back to it. Frustrating!

Also the ads do appear successfully sometimes so it’s not a blanket issue.

Just came to see if there was a thread on this because it’s driving me crackers. Safari on both iPhone and iPad, and no issues with any other websites.

Thanks for the info and screenshots. We'll pass all this on to Tech but please do keep sending them in if you're having the same issue; the more info they have to work with, the better.
