Can't scroll past some adverts

I'm on an android phone using chrome, on some threads I will reach an advert and then cannot scroll past it!

If I remember rightly, I saw a thread saying the same thing l, so I didn't post as I assumed it would be fixed, it still seems to be happening though!

Yep I'm getting the same and also use chrome on android.

I get large adverts with carousels under them in the middle of threads and when I try to scroll past it freezes probably 50% of the time.

I won't be using a different browser or downloading the app so hoping it gets fixed as no other websites do this

I'm having issues with adverts in middle of page and unable to scroll past then the whole page freezes. Chrome on android also.

Glad it's not just me. The whole screen freezes when I try and scroll past. Have to turn my screen off and on again 2-3 times before it will even let me back out of the thread let alone post on it.

Same here yet again. It's virtually unusable. If you 'refresh' the page starts again but mostly I just leave MN in frustration.

It's beyond ridiculous now. Ad fills the whole screen, can't scroll past it and then the page seems to freeze. No update since the "we're looking into it" post from MN towers on the 18th of December.

Glad am not the only one. Happening for me too (even when I was scrolling down this thread!) - Chrome and Android. I usually just close MN when it happens and do something else instead.

This has been going on for ages. It freezes my entire phone and makes all the buttons unresponsive. I can only try and turn the phone off and on again to clear it. Then I get the message "chrome is not responding" but ITS ONLY ON MUMSNET

I thought it was just me. Following along to see if there is a response after the bank holiday weekend.

The advert grey box is permanently on my screen. Won’t move up or down. And takes up too much of my screen.

Android phone here. I've had the same problem for the last couple of weeks.

And me, have just been using my ds brand new Samsung and it still happens so it isn't just because I have a slightly older phone.

I also get the adverts in the middle of the posts. I'd imagine it annoys the advertisers as I have a very negative opinion of them.

Sorry we still haven't got back to you on this. It is being looked into but now the holidays mean it's going to take us a little while longer before we have an update. Thanks again for your patience here and for sharing screenshots - they are very useful.

Think mine is similar but not the same as I can still scroll up but the text goes under the grey ad box

I'm sick to death of accidently clicking on the nespresso advert when I'm trying to get past it.

Android phone. Freezing if I try to scroll past the big ads. Has taken me several attempts to post this!

Incidentally MNHQ if I didn't have adblocker enabled the site would be totally unusable on mobile.

Ironically, it has happened to me again just as I was about to post here. I've had to exit the site twice this morning due to freezing. V annoying.

Ridiculous that this is still happening. It's making the site unusable.

Happening to me too - chrome on android.
Very annoying and putting me off using the site.
Also recently when I'm scrolling a thread, an ad will pop up which then pulls the thread up so I have to then scroll back down and find the place I was reading.

All very annoying 😒
