Agree. If want to talk about Christmas in November (I don't) I'll go to the Christmas board.

Another vote for WTF and please get rid of it. I thought it was a spam advert when I first spotted it. Plus as others say it just isn't appropriate on serious threads. No idea why anyone thought it would be.

1. Too bright/jarring/big.
2. I have reasons to dread christmas every year and don't want it shoved in my face repeatedly.

Totally agree. All talk of Christmas should be in the Christmas board (which I have hidden) only, until the first of December. MN is very efficient at moving other things to special areas why are you shoving Christmas down our throats?

Adding another voice. @mnhq Christmas is triggering for some people, and utterly irrelevant to other people, and this big red box ad is bloody annoying to everyone!

What is the point of forcing the Christmas board down our faces? Is it to increase commerciality of mumsnet even further? It already feels like a cheap rag in the way it is presented now, within in thread adverts every few posts.

We have separate boards for a reason. People can choose to hide what they dont want to see. Why are you removing that choice?

Given that the whole of “Trending now” is full of Christmas do we need extra reminders that Christmas is happening on the 25th of December, I think most people do realise that it does that every year.
