Hi all

We're looking at making some improvements to the Talk over the next couple of months. We've had a look at your threads in Site stuff and created a list of features you've been asking for recently. We'd love it if you could vote using the poll below please, to let us know which feature is most important to you. (You all have one vote each).

  • See OP's posts only
Ability to filter a thread to just see posts by the original poster
  • Improve search
  • Save post
Ability to favourite / save posts from other users that you like / find helpful, so you can find them again later. A bit like Instagram's 'Save' feature.
  • Edit your post
Ability to edit your post after it's gone live so you can amend any typos etc
  • Ability to move your thread to different topic
For example if your thread isn't getting a lot of traffic or if you've posted it to the wrong Talk topic
  • Quote reply
Ability to quote another user's post in your post, when replying to something they've said on a thread.
  • View all posts on one page
Being able to view all posts on a thread on one page, rather than having to click 'next page'

Also if we've left anything out, please let us know by posting below - thank you!

OP posts:

See ops posts only

HistoriaTrixie · 16/09/2019 16:08

Ability to hide posts by a particular user.

Hopesorfears · 16/09/2019 16:11

OP's posts. A "jump to next OP's post" type thing

Isthebigwomanhere · 16/09/2019 16:12

See ops posts only

TheAlternativeTentacle · 16/09/2019 16:13

All those would be good. Other forums have had them for years.

TheAlternativeTentacle · 16/09/2019 16:14

By the way, you've left the poll out. But you can edit your posts.

Samcro · 16/09/2019 16:14

edit , but only for a short time, or people could change the whole thing, but i would love to be able to correct my spelling.

HasThisSoddingNameGoneToo · 16/09/2019 16:17

Argh, I’d love all of those.

TheOliphantintheRoom · 16/09/2019 16:18

Would love an edit button.

Do NOT want the ability to quote as this is always misused on other forums.

LenoVintura · 16/09/2019 16:19

Quote reply

Waggily · 16/09/2019 16:19

See OP’s posts.

Sooverthemill · 16/09/2019 16:21

Edit posts

PortiaCastis · 16/09/2019 16:21

Edit posts and quote reply

SparklyMagpie · 16/09/2019 16:22

Can I use my vote for all of them? 😂

TateWorm · 16/09/2019 16:23

Edit posts but just for a few minutes after so typos can be sorted.

Although that also means we would miss out on such gems as boil in the vag and I had my own the other day of "fuck egg blue" instead of duck egg. Blush

PersonaNonGarter · 16/09/2019 16:23

No edit. No quote post.

But I like the OP posts only one.

EmeraldIsle81 · 16/09/2019 16:26

Better search please. I saw a good post/survey looking for opinions experience of child benefit police - couldn't find it again on here and could really have used the info in there to understand the complex process better.

ProhibitedRodent · 16/09/2019 16:40

*SEE OP POSTS ONLY - YESSSS!
*
Also the editing feature would be amazing. Even if there's like a 2 min time limit after posting to avoid people effectively posting abusive things then changing it.

Also, the option to PM a user from the App would be really helpful please?

ProhibitedRodent · 16/09/2019 16:42

Oh and the quoting a user without having to copy & paste in bold then tag etc - save loads of time!

ProhibitedRodent · 16/09/2019 16:44

@EmeraldIsle81 What is Child Benefit Police? Never heard of that?

Yes I agree about better searching! We desperately need the option to sort by most recent

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 16/09/2019 16:50

See ops posts would be great

goodwinter · 16/09/2019 16:52

Quote - the number one thing that makes threads difficult to follow if people are agreeing/disagreeing with each other especially if those posts are pages and pages apart!

OP's posts only would also be useful, but with the colour-coding option it's easy enough to scroll until you see a particular colour.

BIWI · 16/09/2019 16:55

I already can see all the posts on one page! Am I special? Wink

CarolDanvers · 16/09/2019 16:56

Edit for a short period of time.

I think hide poster would be detrimental to the site and flow of conversation. It's a bit childish really too. Can you really just not scroll on past? I've seen the blocking facility totally ruin FB groups and it's frustrating on twitter. I don't think it would work on this site.

BIWI · 16/09/2019 16:56

What do you mean by 'improve search'? What improvements do you have in mind?
