You remember you were going to impliment all kinds of things, Message which explained posts were deleted due to disablism, Emails to the posters, proactive buzzwords...

a year on what has been the result of this massive change in moderation?

Now i'm not suggesting this was a carrot, dangled to try and stop people leaving....
But we donkeys ARE getting a little tired of walking and woudl like to know what plans are there for the future to stop attacks.

No PM here

WorraLiberty · 17/07/2017 17:12

Yes, and look at all those who have been bereaved for example who end up reading disgusting posts in the bereavement topic, from sick trolls too.

Or those going through hell in the relationships topic and getting trolled also.

This is why I'm saying it's unreasonable to expect such a personal service, from one group of MN users.

BishopBrennansArse · 17/07/2017 17:13

Who made you thread police?

JustadaftProfessor · 17/07/2017 17:19

Correct me if i'm wrong worra but those troll don't POST THE SAME TIME EVERY MORNING!

JustadaftProfessor · 17/07/2017 17:21

if a troll was posting their the same time every morning then yes, i'd expect MNHQ do put staff on at that time.

Dawndonnaagain · 17/07/2017 17:21

They don't usually bother with private messages either.

Polter · 17/07/2017 17:22

@friendswillknowme I wouldn't touch a website that hosts something called 'SpeshFest' with a barge pole, sorry. Plus lots of us aren't posting/just posting as parents of disabled kids, some of the SN board users don't have kids, disabled or otherwise, many have adult kids, disabled or otherwise, and many are disabled themselves. There are many permutations. MN has always been a great place to bring us all together alongside people who aren't disabled/don't have disabled kids.

Disillusionedone · 17/07/2017 17:23

I personally think HQ have been pretty quick with deletions on this occasion.

And agree with you that its good to ignore the troll, worra.

Also yes maybe HQ would not be wise to reveal info about action against trolls on the site.

But othering a group of people smacks of "SN brigade" and is unfair. People with kids with disabilities can also be bereaved, or anything else. If people are asking for better moderation against trolls I imagine they want it across board too.

Disillusionedone · 17/07/2017 17:25

People with kids with disabilities and also posters with disabilities. Just posters like any other posters and all different not a group.

Disillusionedone · 17/07/2017 17:27

Yes i have been posting as disallusioned and was trying to stick to it as i didnt want to name change mid thread here, bit am back posting as me elsewhere. I namechanged for a bit as was getting hassle as Fanjo all the time but frankly sod that :)

Sorry didnt mean to accidentally sockpuppet. Am crap at namechanging and going to stop it altogether.

Oops i messed it up. Im off before i do any more silly things. All the best all. Flowers

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 17/07/2017 18:25

I didn't know it was you Blush
I knew it was someone I spoke to before and I recognised the posting style, but not enough to put 2 and 2 together Grin

PS, I would be happy for any additional staff to work on all reports and not just disabilist ones. Does that actually need saying? 😂

Polter · 17/07/2017 18:34

@Polter

Speshfest was named by a young person with additional needs and then used by many others with additional needs for many years - so they used it officially

The site is for families and doesn't put any age limits on the child/children with additional needs - the oldest 'child' is in their 30's I believe
