OUR BELOVED FESTIVE SMILEYS AREN'T WORKING

I need to do Christmas cards and wrapping so the change has saved me from spending an hour on here. Must always look for the good.....

RE: the laptop thing. I sometimes access the site using a PSP. I guess I won't be now! I prefer the PHP style forums like the Jenson Button one anyway, where you can use tickers, lol. It did take a few days to get used to this one in the first place!

PMSL though - the ad on the left for Virgin just advertised "Desprate Housewives" at me - it's official, MN's up there with the dumbest of parenting sites now.

I've put the "active convos" links on to the top of the threads themselves so you don't have to go to the menu to get to them. I figured if you are chatting you probably don't want to have to go over to top left click a menu blah blah.

Anyway, it's there on threads and thread lists (topic pages).

Right, things I don't like, perhaps MN Towers would consider changing some of the following?

Text is too small and hard to read.
Grey box on the left hand side is silly and takes up too much room.
The toolbars are now actually much harder to figure out, they look messy and complicated.

Basically everything looks far too messy now, before everything was simple and easy to use, easy on the eyes too. It may have looked a bit too simple, but for easiness of use it would have won prizes! The Guardian person obviously thought it was too simple looking and wanted to jazz it up a bit, but it doesn't work. It really really doesn't.

Would MN Towers consider any of this at all? Shall we do a petition?

And where's Tech? Replaced for a younger, bolder version? Is he going to sue?

200 rather than 60 cos it really bugs me to have to go to my favs or the bar at top

Please could you also make the title text change colour after clicking on

ie last time the colour changed from blue to red after clicking on the message

so looking at active convers quickley it means you can see which convers you have read before

please make that happen again

That's one of the personalisation things we are looking at doing. The one's we're mulling so far are

1. Number of threads in active convos
2. Active convos - my topics (save fave topics a bit like on the search page)
3. Number of messages per page (or unlimited)
4. Most recent first vs Most recent last as default order for threads

Some others which escape me right now.

I haven't been pushed away, but my visual design skills are not all they might be. I "lack visual flair" allegedly.

why not just put it back the way it was? We were all happy then!
