Oh how funny, just came on and thought 'ohhh no, don't like this" so came on to siter stuff and here you've all been saying the same thing already, not just me then!
Sorry tech - me no like. I don't mind change but really not loving this one, sozza.

Blackduck · 15/12/2006 20:05

I've been off of Mumsnet for a couple of days - canme back and thought my PC was throwing a wobbly......I HATE it....I actually think it looks naff and shoddy....

geekgrrl · 15/12/2006 20:06

it's just all over the place and awful to read.

wickedwinterwitch · 15/12/2006 20:07

Guardian Schmardian.

KimiTheChristmasCracker · 15/12/2006 20:11

make it go away

tamum · 15/12/2006 20:12

www, it's orders of magnitude better than it was this morning, believe me- I reckon they were just softening us up by making it utterly horrendous so they could get us to accept these changes without a fuss.

DingdongMegaLegsonhigh · 15/12/2006 20:13

Did you see it first thing though? Let me assure you this is so much better.

DingdongMegaLegsonhigh · 15/12/2006 20:13

xpost tamum!

DingdongMegaLegsonhigh · 15/12/2006 20:15

And do you know - I can't actually remember what it was like before now

tamum · 15/12/2006 20:16

Great minds megalegs

wickedwinterwitch · 15/12/2006 20:17

this is what it was like, twas better

wickedwinterwitch · 15/12/2006 20:18

(Just did a quck google on my name as I knew an old cached thread would come up)

tamum · 15/12/2006 20:19

Yes, see, those pale grey lines around the box are far easier on the eye than the black ones.

DingdongMegaLegsonhigh · 15/12/2006 20:20

Thanks WWW. You're right - it was brighter and easier to read somehow.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2006 20:31

More white space.

Never underestimate the benefits of plain old white space in design...

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2006 20:32

The text is the same size as it was before, it's the line spacing etc that's changed making it allcrampeduptogether

wickedwinterwitch · 15/12/2006 20:34

It's not the same size on my screen, honestly. And I have text size set at largest. When I was here at 3am it was fine, and I haven't changed the resolution or anything (in fact that cached thread comes up in old size).

wickedwinterwitch · 15/12/2006 20:34

(as do other sites, they come up in old size)

geekgrrl · 15/12/2006 20:35

tech, can you put a line break below the blue box again please?

myermay · 15/12/2006 20:35

Message withdrawn

Cadeauxmum · 15/12/2006 20:37

The good old days were good!
Thanks for the link WWW. I was sure that the lines around the box were better before as well.

liquidclocks · 15/12/2006 20:40

Which browser you all using? I'm on slimbrowser and the text size is the same...

(nice WWW came back - sorry hadn't noticed before, off havin' a baby! )

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2006 20:42

I'm using Firefox and the text is the same size. If I make it bigger the text goes big but it's still cramped up.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2006 20:43

It's the same in IExplorer too oddly enough. Wierd!

PartridgeinaRustyBearTree · 15/12/2006 20:44

Actually I can't see that much difference - the text on my laptop seems exactly the same size & spacing, I think the arrangement of the active convos etc will be just as easy to use once we get used to where they are now & I like the My talk line (especially if the talk of being able to personalise it further materializes)
The only bit I'm not so keen on is the black line round the boxes instead of the double grey one - I think this might be why people think it looks brighter, because I don't think it actually is.
