We’d like your help testing a new release of the Mumsnet Talk App 3.0 (beta).

This app is for iPhones and iPads on iOS8 only at the moment.

We'd love it if you can give the app a good workout - using it as you normally do - to read and post in Talk. please do bear in mind that the app is still in beta version, so some things may not work perfectly. We have made a few changes since our last test release.

You can use any email address to sign up.
You need to be logged in to sign up. (If you can't see the sign up page, make sure you are logged in.)
It is LIVE. Any posts you make will be seen on the Mumsnet site for all to see. We'll send you an invitation to download the app (it will arrive via the TestFlight service).

Talk app users

This app will replace the current Talk app (2.1) on your phone if you have it.

Recent beta Talk app testers (Testflight 1.0)

If you have been involved in recent app testing, you will end up with two app icons (1.0 & 3.0) on your device. You can uninstall the previous beta app (it will stop working this week).
If you previously signed up for this - but didn't accept & download the app - you will need to sign up again.

I didn't get round to using the earlier versions so am trying to get to grips with it now.

Am on and loving it already

I can see pictures!! I used to skip threads which referred to them as I couldn't see unless I switched to the mobile site on my phone, also liking the colour coding for the OP and self on the threads

the text options as well as can never remember how to do bold etc when I want to and end up not bothering or taking longer to post as looking it up again

I'm in on the new app. No will just have to make sure that autocorrect doesn't ambush me.
Loving the easier use of smileys and bolding etc

Testing

When I go back to the AP I can't see the photos - though I saw my photo on AP when I posted it and I can see the photos on the web page.

ahh it is because I was using the OLD testAP to view the thread - will delete that now.

On it now. It's a bit of a rude awakening - I can feel myself itching to get back to the laptop - but I shall persevere.

Eventually got the signup link to work from the iPad, now posting from the new app.

Yay, update means I can finally post again!

I can only see version 1 on Testflight. I've signed up again as maybe the newer version will let me post and see pictures

Your post at 10:45 came up grey like everyone else's. On the Beta App 2.0 you were always an appropriate*ly MN blue colour

Oh and bold isn't working correctly as my whole post, apart from your name, was in bold. But then wen I added the ly to appropriately it somehow ditched bold and only allowed it from that point on.

Is there any option to cut and paste, but change text to bold or italics? At the moment you can only alter don't if you press the option first.

It would be handy to catch people's attention when you are addressing one particular point someone else made.

I'd do "show the whole post" if it didn't clog up the thread when cut and pasting a long post.

There's no search function...

Can we have an option to hide threads on the app? There's a watch function but not hide, both are equally important!

Little niggle, when I read a thread under the active topics it changes colour to show its been read but if I go into the topic its posted under e.g. AIBU it doesn't have the same colour market so appears as if it's unread.

What is actually new on this test as app oars to the last test app? Can't see any differences atm?

I like the colours but when you click on a link it takes you to safari and then when you come back to the app it goes back to active not the thread you're on

Oh Joy. I'm back to the laptop for a moment.

I haven't been in the first test so am coming to this new - you'll have to forgive me for some possibly daft questions therefore.

Is there a My Topics? (One of the most valuable features of the former App for me.)

Is there a Bookmarking function and if so, how do you activate it?

Is there a function to refresh once you're on a board/in a thread and if so how do you do it? (Other than going round the houses by coming out and going in again.) It doesn't seem to self-refresh and I'm not seeing a Refresh symbol on the screen.

You can bookmark by swiping at the top right hand corner , where the little arrow is.
Refresh by pulling down the post.

The refreshing isn't working for me properly, I'm afraid - it seems to be all over the place. And I try to swipe where the two arrows are and absolutely nothing happens - so no Bookmarks at the moment.

No My Topics, I guess?

I'm not seeing a Search function - other than the Search Topic one at the beginning.
