582,163 new vaccinations in 🇬🇧 yesterday (ex NI)

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 110,976 1st doses / 395,043 2nd doses
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 5,342 / 40,232
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 14,513 / 16,057

(NI has changed its reporting in a way which would make day-to-day comparison misleading)

Thanks for new thread @dancemom
Would be fabulous if was last Tier thread needed!

WouldBeGood · 30/04/2021 15:12

Not that I don’t love you guys, but it would be great if we’re freed in the next 1,000 posts 😂

Scottishskifun · 30/04/2021 16:22

Free in the next 1000?! Are we doing a sweep stake? 😜

Bytheloch · 30/04/2021 16:54

Well, I see in the news today Scotland has the highest Covid rates in the U.K., so I wouldn’t be putting too much money on this being the last thread🙈

RedactedTaeFeck · 30/04/2021 17:07

We mostly have the highest rates @Bytheloch, occasionally someone else takes over for a day or so.

latissimusdorsi · 30/04/2021 17:55

Why do we have the highest rates, anyone know?

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 30/04/2021 18:10

Thanks for the new thread.
Anyone here from Moray? Cases are increasing there, but seems no obvious reason. Hope they come back down soon.

Cismyfatarse · 30/04/2021 18:43

Poor vaccine rollout?

I know 47-49 year olds who have heard nothing. Yet in England 40+ can book.

30not13 · 30/04/2021 19:02

I'm in Moray.

It seems to be mostly centred around the schools.

Scottishskifun · 30/04/2021 19:28

There are multiple reasons but one of which is that their was lower community immunity from the first wave so with the more transmissible variant its impacting areas which have little immunity. Our vaccination programme is also behind in many places and whilst 1% doesn't seem a lot in actual numbers of people it makes a difference.
LoopyGremlin · 30/04/2021 19:40

Anyone in early 40s been called for vaccination in Edinburgh yet? Thought I might have had my letter by now 😞

fluffyugg · 30/04/2021 21:20

Not sure if anyone can answer this but does anybody know if you can take kids to vaccination centres with you?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 30/04/2021 21:48

@LoopyGremlin I'm 48 in Edinburgh and still haven't had my letter.

LoopyGremlin · 30/04/2021 22:05

Hope you hear soon @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo

dancemom · 30/04/2021 22:16

@fluffyugg when I went there were signs up saying no kids or other people to accompany you

I'd imagine if there's nowhere else to leave them they'd be ok with it.

mondaywine · 01/05/2021 10:29

@LoopyGremlin 45+ in Lothian and no letter for DH or me. It really seems to have stagnated. At this rate I will be back to school in August without having my two vaccinations. I am starting to wonder if my younger colleagues will even have had their first by August.

LoopyGremlin · 01/05/2021 11:26

That’s frustrating @mondaywine. I’m also a teacher and would have liked both vaccinations by August but looking less likely now.

Lidlfix · 01/05/2021 11:55

Most teachers where I am won't have had their second vaccination before we go back in August and I would say we were are fairly average bunch age wise. Very early twenty somethings might not even be 3 weeks post first jag depending on their beginning of term .

Blue envelopes dropping in Stirling for late 40s !

Blue letter today in Fife for dh who is 48, vaccine appointment for may 8th

HadEnoughOfBears · 01/05/2021 17:48

I know quite a large amount of people from here (West Lothian) age 45-49 who have appointments next week for their vaccinations.
