Yeah totally agree @SoMuchForSummerLove. I think it’s a little more reassuring that it is a few areas though and just the usual numbers going up and down rather than thinking there is an increase in cases somewhere and it’s causing a load of admissions.

Scottishskifun · 07/05/2021 17:14

@florafoxtrot

Increases in hospital numbers in Glasgow, Lanarkshire and in Grampian. Not all attributable to Moray.
Thanks yes the Moray cases go to Grampian as Grays hospital doesn't have a ICU etc whereas Aberdeen has a specialist covid unit.

Do we know when our esteemed leader is going to once again grace our screens to let us know what's happening on the 17th?

WouldBeGood · 10/05/2021 08:14

I’m not sure @hilbil21 but I think we might get a little treat for dutifully returning her to her rightful place.

hilbil21 · 10/05/2021 08:20

The changes are supposed to happen in a week so she better show herself soon. I didn't want her to be back as FM, but seeing as she is... I now want to see her on my television lol.

Scottishskifun · 10/05/2021 08:26

Well Parliament doesn't properly return til the 18th......there is a load of presiding officer and confirmation rubbish first so I'm presuming she will appear tomorrow on the podium as Tuesdays always seemed to be the preferred option!

hilbil21 · 10/05/2021 08:56

Yes I'm thinking tomorrow Smile

Scottishskifun · 10/05/2021 09:20

Yep Englands is due today so NS will take stock of that one (and travel which has gone very very quiet.......) and have meetings today finalise for tomorrow lunchtime is my guess going by that's been the pattern for months and months!

dancemom · 10/05/2021 09:53

Ah something to look forward to.... along with the repeated reminders that we still need to be cautious, look at Moray etc ...

Oh how I haven't missed the lectures! 😂

I'm actually giddy with excitement about Boris announcement today! If he confirms that overnight family visits are allowed in England from the 17th then we are off not seen family in 7 months!

Plus England softplays should be allowed so hopefully can book DS into some GP time at a softplay where he can be a toddler and enjoy things!

hilbil21 · 10/05/2021 10:01

@Scottishskifun we are off down to family in England at the end of the month. I didn't even think about a soft play for my 6 year old. Good thinking Smile

Scottishskifun · 10/05/2021 10:11

@hilbil21 you will definitely have to pre book but it's worth doing I took him last summer in England and honestly the look of sheer joy he had for the entire session I was in tears!

I know loads of people will go jeez there are more important things than softplay but actually seeing him play normally (well minus there are no balls in ball pits!) was a massive thing for me! I was also mega impressed with it limited numbers, a set time session and cleaning in between.

runningpink · 10/05/2021 11:41

The radio said she will be doing a briefing tomorrow

hilbil21 · 10/05/2021 11:50

Thanks @runningpink

latissimusdorsi · 10/05/2021 11:59

Oh dear god!! Save us all from the daily briefings of death toll and doom again 💀

It's been refreshing not to have snippets of the Daily Covid Lecture shown on the news.
Happy to have an update every 3 weeks when there's something to report but otherwise I know where to go if I want to check the stats ( I'm looking at you @dancemom Grin)

ResilienceWanker · 10/05/2021 13:25

Ha! Yes - tedious though the campaign was, it did save us the daily telling-off, which has to have been a win. Hopefully the briefings will be cut down now its been proven the country doesn't fall apart and we start licking bus stops because we're not reminded of Facts daily. Maybe the weekly statement to Parliament and one media briefing a week would be ok. They can always do an extra one if there's something critical to report. It's not as if NS and her advisors will be unavailable to talk Covid whenever a journalist wants to hear it...

dancemom · 10/05/2021 14:17

Well I'm doing a little party dance for Englands relaxation and also wondering how long NS will stick to much stricter stuff for. Surely she is going to have to budge sooner or later?!

Example - from 17th May England - up to 30 people outside can meet.....
Scotland end of June level zero (normal apparently) - 15 people from 15 households......

dancemom · 11/05/2021 08:05

Also hoping she does away with face masks for pupils as Boris has ....

WouldBeGood · 11/05/2021 08:09

Oh, yes, @dancemom that would be good.

Though my ds likes his as it’s an opportunity to hide 🙄
