Would you date a bisexual man?

I'm looking for a bit of advice on whether I should pursue a relationship with a man I used to work with.

He was crazy about me (I don't know why) when we used to work together years ago. He was in his 20s, a bit wild but he was a laugh. I liked him as a person and he was so sweet to me but the fact that he's bisexual put me off him. It was just too weird for me to deal with. I left that workplace coming up for 5 years ago and haven't seen him since.

I've recently bumped into him in the park and he's lost weight, looking healthier and gotten a new job. He was very happy to see me and being very nice. He told me that he hasn't stopped thinking about me since. He wants to take me out. I gave him my Instagram and he told me that he'd message me when he got home.

Should I just go on a date with him and see how it goes? He seems more mature and relaxed these days, I'm getting older now and can't afford to be too picky in the dating market. However I just don't know if I can overlook his sexuality. 😔

well is he going to be shagging anyone else? I don’t do sharing.

JadedVeryJaded · 05/09/2026 19:11

No of course not

daisyydaisyy · 05/09/2026 19:12

I’ve dated bisexual men. I am a bisexual woman.

HambleTheDoll · 05/09/2026 19:12

No. Huge ick.

Babyboomtastic · 05/09/2026 19:14

Sure. Why would it make a difference to me? Provided he's faithful to me it makes no difference.

MiddleAgedDread · 05/09/2026 19:15

Absolutely not

TishHope · 05/09/2026 19:16

I wouldn't.

Gloriousgardener11 · 05/09/2026 19:16

Couldn’t think of a bigger turn off personally, you don’t sound convinced yourself so just keep him as a friend and keep your pants on!

Upyermonkey · 05/09/2026 19:17

No

fiveyo · 05/09/2026 19:20

What are your specific concerns about his sexuality? I’m not being facetious BTW, I can imagine there could be a number of ‘angles’ the concerns might come from.

Groaaan · 05/09/2026 19:21

Nope

Simonjt · 05/09/2026 19:21

I married one

Sandyknees · 05/09/2026 19:22

No.

BigWig78 · 05/09/2026 19:22

I’d like to think it wouldn’t matter but in reality it would. I don’t know why exactly.

hobbledyhoy · 05/09/2026 19:23

No personally I wouldn’t but it depends what your specific concerns are.

caringcarer · 05/09/2026 19:23

I wouldn't.

Pollqueen · 05/09/2026 19:24

Nope

gratefulmezze · 05/09/2026 19:25

No

Ponderingwindow · 05/09/2026 19:25

I have. I don’t get the problem.

Lornaadoone · 05/09/2026 19:26

Definitely NOT.

Squirrel437 · 05/09/2026 19:26

No - throw him back

zebrazoop · 05/09/2026 19:27

HambleTheDoll · 05/09/2026 19:12

No. Huge ick.

Really?

Brandnewneveragain · 05/09/2026 19:28

These replies are blowing my mind! Is this really what people think? Why does it make a difference if your partner is attracted to men as well as women?

zebrazoop · 05/09/2026 19:28

I’m a bisexual woman so really don’t see the issue here. Wouldn’t bother me

EarthSight · 05/09/2026 19:28

OP, if you already feel hesitant about this, I don't think you should outsource your thinking or feelings about something so primal to other women. Even if you got a lot of women saying yes, it doesn't invalidate your feelings.

I urge you to be cautious, especially if you're thinking about having a future. There is a risk that he will use you mainly for that, whilst still fulfilling the other side of his sexuality.
