Last night my DH told me that the average couple have sex 3 times a week ...
I have told him that has to be absolute Bolleaux and that I will put it to Mumsnet.
He tried to back track and say that Mumsnet wasn't a good example of the population to ask such information - ROFL
Um so 50,000+ (how many members does MN have now?) women with children is not a good cross section?

FWIW: I think Once a week is a very very active sexlife Chez Ghosty ... but it is more like twice a month here

Anyway, PLEASE help me out here girls - SURELY 3 times a week CAN'T be the average for people with kids???

we have 3 boys and im 27 weeks and we do about 5 times a week...he so sexy

We do it 3-4 times a month but it takes hours and is fabbo everytime. Have not had a 'quickie' since before I met DH and don't miss them at all!

about 5 times a week, but our ds is 4 now and sleeps through, and we are both working at home when he is in nursery - it all helps!

wait until kids have gone to bed or make an effort earlier in the morning. sometimes i wake up and its already happening and dp doesnt even know he is doing it!

lol I work at home with DH in the mornings (hence the cofee break action) and then work PT in the late afternoons/evenings but we're usually in bed by ten. And now we're considering baby number 2....

Love this thread - so reassuring that I might show it to the DH. Am half way through 2nd pregnancy which gives very vivid dreams in teh middle of the night, but by the time morning arrives, have completely lost the inclination. Know that I should make the effort, but just thinking about it is tiring enough!!

I don't understand what the issue is with teenagers - do they bang on the ceiling and tell you to knock it off?

As a teenager I constantly had sex with my mum in the house and I don't think she ever heard! It helped that I had a firm mattress, and we perfected the art of silent orgasm. In fact we still whisper when we have sex now, I think it's ingrained.

TYV - we are silent to, so i don't think having ppl in the next room is an issue either!!

Sorry mate, not in our house either, although to improve on about once every two months is our new year resolution, although my running one naturally has higher priority! My friend just submits to it three times a week for a quiet life. My other friend is similar. Mine plays lots of sport which helps a lot. Seriously when we last discussed this I was touched that he still fancies me so much, or maybe is just so desperate... It might help if he realised that some romance might help, like booking a babysitter without it being my suggestion so we can go out, as theres no family locally.

I don't have sex 3 times a month never mind 3 times a week! Mainly due to dh rather than me.
