Last night my DH told me that the average couple have sex 3 times a week ...
I have told him that has to be absolute Bolleaux and that I will put it to Mumsnet.
He tried to back track and say that Mumsnet wasn't a good example of the population to ask such information - ROFL
Um so 50,000+ (how many members does MN have now?) women with children is not a good cross section?

FWIW: I think Once a week is a very very active sexlife Chez Ghosty ... but it is more like twice a month here

Anyway, PLEASE help me out here girls - SURELY 3 times a week CAN'T be the average for people with kids???

I know a lady who claims to have sex at least twice a day...and if her partner isn't there/working she will go find herself a vibrator!

i did read recently that 3 times a week is the national average for married couples! I wish i had that much sex unfortunately in my house its DH who doesnt want sex very often and not me!

errm, it probably is about 3x/week here in the Loshad household, though we don't wait until the teenagers have gone to bed though whispers - we love msn, makes a great teen sitter

Ha lol - more like 3 times a year here. i once said in company {obv as a joke and while v v drunk] that dp and i had only had sex 3 times and each time i had fallen pregnant - i must say he was not very amused at all!!

ghosty - are we married to the same man? My DH starts to look seriously martyred if it goes down to twice a week.

actually I wouldn't mind 2/3 times a week at the moment, haven't got much to do in the evenings

but DH is a sleepy sod. maybe if he gets his sleep apnoea sorted out he might be a bit more awake which would be a start

Any and all surveys on sex behaviour are not to be taken too seriously, because a substantial number of the people asked are lying. They are either lying to make themselves sound 'normal' (or what they think is normal) or to make themselves sound like sex gods/goddesses, or out of sheer mischeif.

But agree with those posters who say that while it doesn;t matter what other peole do or don't do maybe MrGhosty wants a little chat about the frequency in your house.

I'd love it if we were We're lucky if we manage 2 or 3 times a month.
