Mumsnet Poll: Please help me tell my husband that NO ONE has sex 3 times a week when they have children ...

ghosty · 09/01/2008 21:29

Last night my DH told me that the average couple have sex 3 times a week ...
I have told him that has to be absolute Bolleaux and that I will put it to Mumsnet.
He tried to back track and say that Mumsnet wasn't a good example of the population to ask such information - ROFL
Um so 50,000+ (how many members does MN have now?) women with children is not a good cross section?

FWIW: I think Once a week is a very very active sexlife Chez Ghosty ... but it is more like twice a month here

Anyway, PLEASE help me out here girls - SURELY 3 times a week CAN'T be the average for people with kids???
Can it? [slightly worried]

PillockOfTheCommunity · 10/01/2008 19:47

I'm single at the moment, but when I'm with someone that's fairly average (has been up to that in a day ). Maybe it's different because I'm not married

PandaG · 10/01/2008 19:54

cod, you don't have a box to tick for how often DH and I fornicate - gap between 1 and 3x per week too large!

PandaG · 10/01/2008 20:03

btw cod, do you remember giving me a few pointers when I was applying for a TA job? well, I got offered and accepted a preschool post in the interim, but got offered an interview for the TA post, and have been doing some TA supply too, thanks VERY much for your help, gave me the confidence I needed!

Dh would like evry other day. I know I'm crap and don't make enough effort 2 weeks can go by when I've made my excuses.

Only seem able to relax enough to get into it on the 2 occassions we've had nights away since dd was born (16 months) then 3 times in a night!

I'm a bit (a lot) of an insomniac so usually too anxious and worked up about getting to and staying asleep to think about it.

Have very irritating and nauseating friend who's constantly going on about her her and her dh STILL do it nearly every night after 13 years. Should make more effort tho, summon up the energy

Am absolutely reeling that cod has a blog Do people go blind trying to decipher it?
I am going to be out all day today but when I get home I will think of something very important to do on the computer so that I can peruse it at leisure.
And am impressed at all those further up the thread that are saying they do it every day
And Custy .... LOLOLOLOL at "maybe your dh needs to work harder down a min or mountain climbing or somethng"
Should he work harder down my min?
hhahahahahha

hhhhmmmmm

am thinking Ghosty may NOT show this to MrGhosty now that all the frequent shaggers have emerged

PandaG · 10/01/2008 21:44

cod, sorry to hear history jobs thin on the ground...would have thought with all your governor experience so finger still in the education pie you would be eminently employable...much supply going at all? or is that a non starter for you?

is DS3 at school yet, can't remember, if he is ad hoc supply more feasible I would imagine

that's better than I get as TA or preschool supervisor!

would doing that at not geat money get your foot in the door for maybe longer term cover?

Roisin is cover supervisor I believe...

I'm happy with the salary atm, as has low stress, although am considering retraining for primary so I could do teacher supply not jyst TA supply in the future...am wonderimg why I secondary trained in the first place as I love the infant stuff now...maybe being a parent has changed my perspective

amusingly I am having to do a college course to qualify me to work at preschool - PGCE and 7 years reg childminder non-transferable, so am doing a diploma in preschool practice, enjoying it actually!
