Given tablet, has he cheated?

My Hb started having a really bad burning sensation, wanting to urinate but just couldn't. He went to GP Out of hours, but when he got home he placed a tablet on the table and said that's for you to take. I didn't understand and ask why's is it for me? He said doctor thinks you need to take it. Again why, what's it for? I asked. An infection, doctor thinks you may have given me an infection. I felt numb, I had no symptoms! Had my Hb cheated on me? I asked what infection? He said just take it. There was no leaflet. I have no idea what it was. Could it have been a bacterial infection. He's plumber, could he have picked something up from someone's toilet, blocked sink. Or do you thinks he's cheated and that tablet was for an Std? It was one single quite large tablet.

Photo? Close up, to show any markings, you might be able to look it up by its description, but don't take it.

Definitely don't take it. No doctor is ever going to give another person tablets to give to you! Who knows, only he can say, but if he's not giving you anything apart from a disease then you might have your answer.

Get yourself tested; a clamydia test is a self test, but go to a gum clinic for all the tests. In fact you might be able to phone them about the tablet. This must be very upsetting OP, sorry, and I hope it turns out innocent, but I can't see how it can be really. Sad

cinemalover · 27/01/2019 02:04

Don't take it- what is it? Do you have a pic? Likely he cheated if you haven't had any other sexual intercourse!

He sounds like a cock to blame it on you. Thanks

mrbob · 27/01/2019 02:05

A single one off antibiotic dose is normally azithromycin for chlamydia. Which would suggest he may have chlamydia. I am really sorry. I would get myself tested if I were you though ASAP and then at least you know as he clearly isn’t going to be forthcoming with anything else

swapsicles · 27/01/2019 02:08

Do not take the tablet, there's no way a doctor would prescribe you something without you being there or at least aware of it.
Sorry but sounds like he's got an infection from somewhere then maybe blagged tablets from a mate, otherwise they'd be in the blister pack in a box with your name on it.

OMG, I've been such a fool haven't I. I took it, I was just in shock. Didn't know what to think. We have a 8 year old and I've just had a miscarriage. The babies heart beat just wasn't there any longer. Could chlamydia cause me to have a miscarriage?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 27/01/2019 02:11

OP have you taken it?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 27/01/2019 02:12

Oops x-post sorry!

thegreatbeyond · 27/01/2019 02:12

Can you show the tablet? It's probably possible to figure out what it is.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 27/01/2019 02:13

So sorry for your loss OP Flowers

myhamsteratefreddiestarr · 27/01/2019 02:14

OP, I see you’ve taken it already but I agree with PP, never take anything that’s not in its packaging, it could be anything.

You do need to get yourself tested ASAP. If you do have something then you have your answer.

So sorry for your loss.

Rtmhwales · 27/01/2019 02:15

Google azithromycin and see if it looks similar?

Yes untreated chlamydia can increase the risk of miscarriage. Ask your husband for his medical records on this last infection. A doctor wouldn't have given him pills for you so it sounds like chlamydia which is treated in a one dose pill sometimes.

thegreatbeyond · 27/01/2019 02:17

Diflucan is single dose for thrush and available otc but the whole situation sounds dodgy.

babba2014 · 27/01/2019 02:17

Never ever take medication which hasn't been prescribed to you. Think about it, which doctor would do that? I can't believe how he's been so blasé about it.

Monday2018 · 27/01/2019 02:20

Just googled it, yes it looks like that. Hormones all over the places, feeling like absolute suit. He's asleep and all I want to do right now is wake him up and demand some answers! Although I'm guessing that I should wait until the morning.

OP posts:
Weenurse · 27/01/2019 02:21

People can carry chlamydia and have no symptoms so unaware they are carriers,

mathanxiety · 27/01/2019 02:22

Can you go to the OOH place your P went to and ask them what the heck it was that he gave you?

Go asap to get tested - Monday if possible if that is the earliest a std clinic is open. Tomorrow if they open on weekends.

Monday2018 · 27/01/2019 02:22

It wasn't diflucan. Just googled it and looks nothing like it. You are right, I shouldn't have taken it.

OP posts:
Monday2018 · 27/01/2019 02:25

Could he have carried it for years before having symptoms?

OP posts:
Rtmhwales · 27/01/2019 02:25

I'd honestly wake him up now and demand answers unless you think he might be violent.
People just woken up are groggy and unable to lie as quickly.

Rtmhwales · 27/01/2019 02:27

He could've carried it for years and never had symptoms. Symptoms show up a couple weeks after infection if you're going to get them. Sorry OP.

And he wouldn't have done this so underhandedly if it was an old undiagnosed infection. He would've discussed it, not just tried to get you to take a pill.

Tell him you want to speak to his doctor and are going to call the GP to ask why they'd prescribe antibiotics without an actual prescription to someone who is not their patient (ie you) and watch him sweat.

SophiaLovesSummer · 27/01/2019 02:28

If my DH had arrived home, complaining his todger was burning, proceeded to present me with a drug without explanation/leaflet/even an attempt at explaining diagnosis... and then I realised it was likely chlamydia which may have contributed to my miscarriage like FUCK would he be lying there soundly sleeping whilst my head and heart were doing cartwheels - like FUCK would he Angry

If you want to 'demand answers' that's the least you're entitled to. I'm so sorry, what a total prince.

NB as an aside, he may well have commited an offence vis the drug. For your own safety you need to find out what it was, you also need a full GUI work up (again, I'm sorry).

PepsiLola · 27/01/2019 02:28

I would not let this go until I'd got answers.

Whilst he's asleep can you check anything on his phone?

thegreatbeyond · 27/01/2019 02:30

Didn't you recently post about your 8 year old having pelvic pains and symptoms? If this is happening, I would suggest further investigation into all this is necessary.

LilQueenie · 27/01/2019 02:34

I would phone the surgery and explain so you can let his doctor know you took that tablet in order to find out what exactly it was.

TheSerenDipitY · 27/01/2019 02:42

An infection, doctor thinks you may have given me an infection.

the doctor think YOU gave Him an infection???? the doctor does does he????

hes blaming you for the std??? oh i would be all up in his junk! no way would be be sleeping right now, no way in hell!!
