Hello

I'm Mouse, well normally! [hgrin]

Welcome to the Bus. We are a mixed bunch of Babes, some of us drink, some of us don't and some of us are trying to find out the best way to cut down or stop completely.

There is plenty of room on the Bus for everyone so, come say hi. [hsmile]

And, if you'd like to see what brought us all here, you can read all of the past threads, including the original one by JWN RIGHT HERE

I'm here Smile

Just playing with Nemo and feeding DD. Been a busy day and another day of hospital appointments tomorrow, Nemo is being measure for some shoes to help him walk better.

In my day they were horrid things, now they're like Kickers and all trendy! Oh how times have changed. Smile

Good luck MsGee xx

Hi Babes, 'tis me, BBwannaB Grin

I've changed my name, not for Halloween, but because I am not just a Brave Babe wanna be anymore. Today is the one year anniversary of my last drink.
A whole feckin year without a drink Shock
I would never have believed that I could do it, and I couldn't have done it without all of you BBs, thank you for your part in giving me my life back.
It is hard to articulate the change, but since last year - my skin is fresher and my face is no longer puffy, my eyes and my teeth have lost their yellow/stained hue, I have lost weight, gained direction, but most of all I have lost the guilt, the disgust, the self loathing the fear of what I was doing to my body.

I actually LIKE myself, warts and all.
THANKS BBs, and if I can do it you can too.

Bproud · 19/10/2011 20:04

OK, so I choose the quietest night of the year for my anniversary! Shall we have the party at the weekend instead? Smile

Mwahahahahahahahouseface · 19/10/2011 20:15

Bproud CONGRATULATIONS YOU GORGEOUS BABE YOU!

And so you should be VERY proud of yourself. Awww, what a fab thing to read. Smile

YOU ARE A Brave Babe to me and always have been.

Oh, my bolding didn't work.

I am going to snuggle Nemo and watch some TV with DH and then an early night. Another booze free early night I might add in the spirit of the celebration! Grin

Night night all.

And well done again Bproud, you are awesome and should every bit as pleased as you do. You're a real inspiration to us all.

YAYAYAY! xx

Bproud

YAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

bid done Grin. back on track work wise. I have somehow worked an extra 5 hours over the last 2 days.

computer just about to give out but need advice on something Isinde am hoping you can help? Or anyone? I have run a training course (which I wrote and developed) for an organisation as a freelance for years. Lovely organisation, no issues on ownership, always got me to do the training. New management now in, fear that they will take the course (which they have) and use it without me. How do I stop this happening?

Computer protesting ... better go mouse (((( ))))

(((((()))))) (group hug). Ahem. Back to your seats now ladies.

Bproud · 19/10/2011 20:54

MsGee I expect isindie will know best, but I think you need to check the terms of your freelance contract to check that you didn't pass rights to the material to the employer. If you own the material they should licence the material from you and pay a fee if they plan to deliver it themselves. Let me know if you need any help with licence terms.

Silver66 · 19/10/2011 21:00

BB WOW

you rock woman

if only

you are an inspiration xx

BE VERY VERY PROUD Grin xx

Bproud · 19/10/2011 21:08

Ah, but Silver it could be you. Honest, I'm old, I've been drinking at a serious level for YEARS, I really never thought I could do it, but I did, if I can do it, you can too.

hauntmenow · 19/10/2011 21:25

Go BB!

MissPerrier · 19/10/2011 22:04

Well Done Bproud, that's a huge achievement, you are a star!!! X

legalalien · 19/10/2011 22:13

Well done bproud! And also you are right, the first thing to do is check the written contract - msgee- you are looking for stuff about copyright or other intellectual property rights. Happy to look at it / give you some further info if you want to pm me, as I know (or at least I used to know, before I went off on a student frolic) a little bit about this sort of stuff.

ThursoVeryWitchy · 19/10/2011 23:03

Congratulations Bproud, you should be very proud indeed.
Nearly a year on the bus for me, too. Not such a spectacular achievement as you, but in a much better place than I was this time last year.
Am pretty determined that it will be me next year, at some point.
Much love xxx

Morning Babes

thanks for contract advice Bproud legal and Isinde . I'll check contract. However, I suspect that it only covers the bid writing as the training was a development from that. Will dig around emails.

Isinde have you been to docs? Sometimes after a virus an ear infection can cause vertigo etc.

Have to confess, drank last night. Just sort of came upon me so I must have let my guard down.

Also, thanks for the prayers for friend. Incredibly after being told the worst there is now a slight glimmer of hope. Still v difficult but a glimmer is there. I haven't posted updates because it's been such a changing scenario and I felt incredibly guilty for posting and thinking they lost their baby when it was still fighting. (secondhand news from DH!) I can only imagine they have a strong fighter. I am so hopeful for them but still struggling with it all.

Have been thinking about getting my tests done but wondering whether I should bother. I don't think I could get through another pregnancy. In fact I'm
almost positive. So worried it might just make me feel worse whatever the outcome.

ScareyFairenuff · 20/10/2011 08:33

Morning Smile

Bproud wowee! Congratulations for yesterday 365 days, one day at a time, is quite achievement and you are an inspiration. I am going to put a hat on so I can take if off to you Grin.

Isinde are you sure you don't have 'flu. It's going around here and people are seriously poorly. Try not to worry too much about work until you're feeling better (easier said than done I know). When you are ill it's so easy to pick up more bugs so you should really try to eat and rest and recover. At least take some vitamins.

Thanks for the tips Mouse. I'll wrap up warm and hopefully we'll be ok (unless it snows). We don't mind getting a bit windswept. We might be wimpy southerners but we're still British! Grin

obrigada · 20/10/2011 09:42

Morning all [hsmile], congrats on your 1 year anniversary Bproud!

jesuswhatnext · 20/10/2011 11:22

BOING!!!! Grin

bproud - be just that you fantastic babe!!! - many many congrats!!! Grin

im fine, just really busy, 'the wedding' seems to have taken on a life force all of its own, dh is writing staggeringly frequent cheques and i am now begining the search for my rig out Confused Grin dd tells me it has to reflect my personality, this was after i told her i looked in lk bennett in the hopes that i could pull off 'understated elegance' Grin she reckons that i would look like carole middleton in drag in that stuff as opposed to my usual TOWIE look which is how she wants me look as it is my natural default! Grin god love her! Grin

isindi - about to pm you!

obrigada · 20/10/2011 14:18

Very quiet on here these days, hope everyone is ok?

notevenamOoOooOoooosie · 20/10/2011 14:32

Have been suffering technological meltdown here - internet, DVD player, our toaster and DD's groclock all decided to fail within a matter of a couple of days. Internet now fixed, and the smoke alarm works really well when I make toast under the grill but not sure what to do about the clock, we've had it 3 years nearly and it is still my lifeline!

Bproud many many congratulations!!

Inde sorry you are struggling - it all looks so much worse when you are wiped out with a virus, this too really will pass.

jwn your DD loves you as you - and that's great. My DD does a real Hmm face if I put a skirt on to go anywhere other than work, she's perfecting the art already.

Hello and love to everyone else.
