Welcome to the Bus! Smile

I'm Mouse and you'll find me snuggled sat at the back where it's warmest!

If you're sober, drinking, or somewhere between the two, you are more than welcome on board.

No judging, no cliquey groups and no closed minds here, oh no! Chances are, no matter how bad you may be feeling right now, one of the Brave Babes will have been there too!

So, come say hi.

And, to read the last thread and other journeys so far, follow this link

afternoon all.
Thurso you are doing brilliantly. Well done.
had my two glasses last night and then had a vsion of the Babes finger-wagging and tutting so put the rest in the fridge Grin
But I couldn't have done that a few weeks ago - it was a bottle a night, every night. Last week, the pattern was
Monday - most of a bottle
Tuesday - nothing
Wednesday - bottle (threw up)
Thursday - nothing
Friday - nothing
Saturday - half bottle.

So, i still have some distance to go huh?

BBwannaB · 07/11/2010 17:40

dementedma you are making steps along that distance, so well done, what is the plan for tonight?

Dipso · 07/11/2010 18:10

BB with Sinclair you take an opiate antagonist which is the opposite of an opiate agonist. So it does the opposite of what an opiate does and this apparently reduces the pleasurable effects of the alcohol.

Demented, it's great that you seem to be taking control of your intake. Are you trying to stop completely?

dementedma · 07/11/2010 19:30

Dipso - I don't think i AM trying to stop completely, oddly enough. I would like to have at least 4 or 5 nights a week drink free and to feel able to take it or leave it otherwise.
its nice to be able to have just a glass or two and them call it a night. I'll keep at it, the plan may change...

Maybe join me in the contemplation seat inde

Mouseface · 07/11/2010 19:48

You WILL NOT drink on these, they are horrendous with alcohol. I've had them in the past and thought, as with many other antibiotics, 'No booze? Yeah right!'

And got away with it.

These feckers however, will make you projectile vomit the entire week's worth of your stomach contents all over the floor.

Want some? Grin

Dipso · 07/11/2010 21:35

Night everyone. Hope these threads never stop, what happens to us if they do?

Just lit the first real fire of the year, so cosy. Went to an afternoon drinks party earlier, full of extremely dull people who normally would have been bearable because I'd had a bottle before I turned up. I had to
make an excuse and leave early....

Not really fancying a drink right now but feeling wistful about all those crazy drunken, drugged-up nights and wondering how on earth I'm going to survive the orifice party....

Mouseface · 07/11/2010 21:41

Off here too. Feeling kinda sea sicky again so best go lie down.

Keep going Brave Babes. WE can do it.

Wasindie - I'll be waiting for you in the morning with whatever you need to get you through the day. I hope you are in bed sleeping it off. xx

OP posts:
witchetychicky · 07/11/2010 22:07

I know counting the days doesn't work for everyone - but I think I need to ....
so Day 1

dementedma · 07/11/2010 23:06

Night all.
Orf to bed after one measly glass....tomorrow is another day.
Wasindie - sleep well

notevenasparkler · 08/11/2010 05:31

Hi everyone,
I need to rejoin. I fell off the wagon. I feel guilty and disgusted with myself. I have been re-reading MIFLAW's post about the boxing ring. I need to get out now whilst I can get out and not get back in. I feel sick and tired this morning. Today I will not be drinking. I am going to find some help too. Is GP the best first port of call?

Crap sleep here as well - after having beaten the insomnia over the last month, back to waking up at 1am and staying awake.
noteven I haven't sought help oher than on this thread (yet), but I think your GP would be a good starting point.
Sorry things haven't gone well, but welcome back and thanks for reminding me of that post from miflaw.

thursoback · 08/11/2010 07:45

Morning all,

Sorry that some of you babes didn't sleep well.

Day 11 for me, it wasn't so hard last night, but one day at a time.

Witchety I have found this thread the best thing ever, you are doing so well.

I can't believe the state I was in 11 days ago, and much of the angst and self disgust is receding, I hope that all of you on day 1 know that everyone on here is on your side, whatever.

Diabolik are you ok?
