The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Carry On Past The Park Bench!

1000 replies

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 18/10/2010 10:54

Hello Smile

I'm Mouse and one of the Brave Babes on the Battle Bus.

The bus is never full and you'll find a real mix of people on board, all with the same goal.

To take control of their drinking. Whether that's to stop completely or cut right down.

Everyone is welcome to get on the bus at any point. You will receive a warm welcome and plenty of support.

Some come meet the others.........

The journey so far.

diabolik · 22/10/2010 08:01

:) .. it is Morticia - it sort of silences all the crap in your head .. I think we sometimes lose the connection between head and body and there's nothing like a bit of a run to establish that connection again ..

morning everyone - i was doing really well not googling pinksock and was still blissfully ignorant until I got to THAT post.... at least I was catching up this morning and not having that in my head before sleep.

ma you'll always have a seat here - just park your bum!

So last night went well - girls round, no wine for me and wine for them and DH. they were v surprised that I wasn't drinking and I wasnfairly honest and said we were just drinking too much in the week and I wanted to stop doing it so I am attempting to. Not that it has helped my mood this morning although I suspect that's something to do with detox and sleeping in a child's bed for most of the night...

Dh hasn't blown up for two nights so that's something, although he had a bit of an attempt last night before everyone got here. I just left the room to do something else.

zombieinhighheelswhatnext · 22/10/2010 09:14

morning!!, well, this morning my wonderful dh woke me up with a cup of tea and a pair of beautifully clean shoes, no whiff of horse shit upon them! [hgrin] - so, i enjoyed my tea, got up, went in the kitchen - HE HAS ONLY USED THE FUCKING DISHCLOTH!! bloody loon! [hgrin]

daddy - you are doing really well!!, im glad you had a nice evening!, as to your dhs moods, you may find that as you become more in control he will find differant ways to try and lower your self esteem - be wary my love!

wasnidie - ONE beer!, what was the point?, just knock it on the head woman!!, its a temptation to go further, its a denial that you are an alcoholic - you KNOW how it works!, one beer one night = 'thats good, i can handle it' - its a false sense of security, and it will bite you on the bum!!

nag over! [hgrin] - i have a lovley picture of bathtime in the wasindie household!, all wriggling little bare bodies, wailing like good 'uns while you dash franticly between them shaking baby powder everywhere!, i see your dp as the serene earth mother shaking her head at your efforts!! [hgrin]

zombieinhighheelswhatnext · 22/10/2010 09:27

poor dh be buggered!, he only did it to get me back for using a screwdriver as a shit scraper! [hgrin]

daddywillbehomesoon · 22/10/2010 09:40

wasindie well dont on only the one, but yes, really why??? White wine seems to be my downfall as well as it just goes down so easily - red I like more but seem to savour more... O'h well, we'll get there.

zombie I'll be on the lookout - last night's attempt was to suggest that two spots (admittedly skin has been really bad in last few months but I think that was down to drinking so much) on face constitute adult acne and I need to get it looked at. I suggested to him politely that perhaps not drinking was meaning my body was detoxing and part of that for me is spots (i've always suffered from not great skin). And then walked away to another room...

This morning's go was about parenting - shouting at the kids when they are being particularly troublesom - he's reading raising boys and now quoting it " you should read the section on mums and boys. how they influence lifelong attitudes towards women and how shouting affects them. You may already have dine irreparable damage. The main thing is htting them which, granted you don't do"..... So shall we have a look at dh's parents and how they raised him to give him this attitude towards women Hmm Angry

My god he's a twat sometimes Grin

Hello,

Popping in to say that I'm coming to the end of my fourth mostly sober week. It's hard, but it's being done. Never thought I had it in me.

Thanks all just for making this thread exist. It is constantly in the back of my mind and it's a help and an inspiration.

diabolik · 22/10/2010 09:54

Silver66 · 22/10/2010 10:05

desiretochange · 22/10/2010 10:10

Morning everyone . . thanks again to BB for helping me get over my shaky moment last night:)

TheAntiChristi · 22/10/2010 10:28

morning all

daddy as jwn warned he's trying to find other ways to lower your self esteem. What a twat.

My ex criticised my skin too, it made me very upset. Am sure your skin will improve with no drinking. Have you tried the oil cleansing method?

I'm so sorry he's begaing like this. Hypocritical little twit in need of a pink sock!

desiretochange · 22/10/2010 10:38

Oil cleansing method?

daddywillbehomesoon · 22/10/2010 11:02

oil cleansing method??? I actually have a really good daily exfoliating micro cleanser thing which does work if I use it twice a day - and that stuff that is in the RoC stuff - you know with the woman who's actually about 80 but because she uses this once a week she looks about 35 Hmm - cutting out drinking means i'm more likely to remember to use this stuff. but yes he is being a twit as well... he himself woke up with a huge spot on his cheek yesterday morning but did I say anything???

also I'm Blush to admit that i have no idea what debugging is.

RP keep going, that's fantastic so far

daddywillbehomesoon · 22/10/2010 11:03

o'h and i've seen him lost his rag with the boys and scream and I've had to tell him to go away as they are scared (on a very odd occasion, you know when you get right past the end of your tether) so the whole parenting dig i am not even taking on board.

diabolik · 22/10/2010 11:09

work in a tech environment
trying to get something to work ..

desiretochange · 22/10/2010 11:23

Well done daddy on not rising to his digs and on not drinking last night, you already sound stronger :)
