Pre make your drinks. Get them made in advance and put them in the fridge for later. Tall glass, ice and even push the boat out and have a straw!!

You have done great so far. Smile

I feel like deep fried dog shit and I didn't have anything to drink.

ChristianaTheSeventh · 09/10/2010 13:13

Think you'd feel if you HAD drunk something lasttime

DD2 driving me absolutely bonkers. Wheezing. Screaming, Squirming, Falling over constantly, not eating not sleeping, I WANT DH back why is it this weekend when she's ill?! Am losing patience because her screeching is so aggravating which is making me feel like a terrible mother because it's not her fault.

RageAgainstTheTeen · 09/10/2010 13:18

Forth I do too, think it's the withdrawals,am sweating like a pig here and feel quite neurotic.

I'm feeling overwhelmed today too

hippychicky · 09/10/2010 13:32

Hi christi - how old is DD2?
Rage and Forth - just treat yourself as if you have got flue - Cosy up on the sofa, - hot drinks and remind yourself that you will get better soon.
Take care
x

Mouseface · 09/10/2010 13:32

Rage - detox. Plenty of fluids to flush your kidneys out and get some sugary treats to stave off the cravings later.

Sorry you are feeling rubbish.

RageAgainstTheTeen · 09/10/2010 14:38

Thanks guys

Just sent dh out to town to get some tonic and some much needed carbs, usually the sweats ebb away after 3/4 days, gotta go through the pain to gain..

My stress levels are high as my wonderful children are bickering over nothing
Feel like I could do with a few days in some silent retreat somewhere. In my bloody dreams!

Well done for having the balls to go back to the dvd shop silver,I wouldn't of as I'm a great big coward and have a horrible habit of hiding away for days after I have embarrassed myself through being pissed,it's not often that I do but when I do,boy,I do it on a grand scale!

Lots of water on the plane will help you, don't dehydrate any further.Have a fab time!

munkymaz · 09/10/2010 14:39

OP posts:
munkymaz · 09/10/2010 15:50

Hiya Mouse, you too Smile

I have been lurking for the past 3 weeks after I stumbled off the bus but have been a bit too Sad to join in. Need to sort it out though 'cos I feel it is all spiralling out of control !

Anyhow, I'm determined to get a grip and despite the beer calling to me from the fridge.....today I will not be drinking!

munkymaz · 09/10/2010 15:52

....and a big hello to all the newcomers, hope you are finding what you need here in this thread, I know I do.

I'm Munky and I still don't want to admit it think I'm an alcoholic.

Mouseface · 09/10/2010 16:10

Munky - can I ask you something.... is the beer in the fridge yours?

OP posts:
algee · 09/10/2010 16:19

afternoon all, afternoon especially all newcomers.
having horrid day, alraedyfighting the urge. wish that eveytingi've learned over the past few months had sunk in enough for me to not stillhave this battle. ridiculous. anyway, as ever sharing the 'puter means time is short, so have a lovely weekend all. laters.

munkymaz · 09/10/2010 16:42

Mouse I bought it on Fri (beer night....as opposed to wine!). I had 1 yesterday as did DH but I didn't enjoy it couldn't drink it as I felt too awful and threw half away.....so yes, it is mine but my wibble is over (for now), I really don't want it.

jesuswhatnext · 09/10/2010 16:50

hi all!!, nice to have you back munky!, sorry you feel crap - you know the drill though, get your stocks of soft drinks in, be kind to yourself, remember why you want to be sober and just for today

WE WILL NOT BE DRINKING!!

off out in a bit, am making dh take me out for a meal to make up for his being a tit last night!, Wink, god, sometimes i think he could kill the sober, oh so rightgous me! Grin

see you after 'strickly' babes!!

lovely lovley, you're my favorites!! Grin

Mouseface · 09/10/2010 16:53

Munky - try not to drink it or make sure DH has it.

I know it's hard. Christ do I know. One thing that I have found is that if there is loads of 'available' booze, chilled vino, ice cold beer, I struggle more not to neck the lot and get wasted.

So, there is no wine in the fridge or beer.

DH has both of an evening, more so at weekends.

Tonight however, I am X Factoring with DD so we have sweet treats lined up ready. I find planning the treats gives me something to look forward too, just as much as drink o'clock used to. Does that make sense?

I think the longer you are sober, the easier it gets but *and I know I bang on about this all of the time) YOU have to be completely ready to STOP.

YOU have to want to stop. If you aren't ready, you will fail.

And yes, it's easy to say 'I'll stop Monday,' so that you can have one last bender over the weekend.

Then when Monday comes, there is wine left that needs finishing from the weekend.

And on it goes.

I guess for me there was just no point in stopping until I really believed that I would and could stop.

Smile
