Hello.

I'm Mouse and I've been on the bus for 2 months now and not fallen off it as yet. It's much more comfortable than The Wagon! Grin

Anyway, this is thread number nine!

Everyone is welcome to join at any point of the journey, drinking or not, wanting to stop or just to cut down.

Jump on board, you won't be judged, just supported whatever you decide. Smile

Algee I can recall a few things if I feel the need for self loathing too. Blush

Day 6 is great SAF. I am on glass 2 of bitter lemon, the sorbitol taste gets a bit strong after more than that.

oooh it's sequin and glitz time.

See you later babes.

Take care Lucil x

lucilastic · 01/10/2010 21:17

I'm ok. I've had 2 glasses of wine, have poured a glass out for DP and one for the FIL (even though I hate him) in order that I can't finish off the bottle, which I could do so easily.

I am obsessed with drinking. Normal drinkers don't worry and stress over how much is left in the bottle (or in the house) and how much they can "get away with" drinking.
Sad

Mouseface · 01/10/2010 21:28

The best thing about what you have just typed out Luci is that you have nothing left to drink for the night.

Don't analyse it, be glad that you did actually pour the wine out for others!

You could've easily had the rest. You didn't.

Be proud of that, at least for tonight. Smile

SAF - well done!

Hope you have a good night's sleep too x

algee · 01/10/2010 22:34

Fab you can warm me up with tales of the south aNd hip flasks full of hot chocolate. Night all. Good to be home :-)

hippychicky · 01/10/2010 22:58

Goodnight everyone - pavlova I had already put the wine in the fridge and read your message "suprise yourself"...and I did!
1st Friday night without alcohol in 20+ years.
Thanks

lucilastic · 01/10/2010 23:05

Goodnight brave babes. Only 2 glasses (large ones admittedly) of wine tonight. I so didn't want to pour the rest out for DP and FIL. How selfish and addicted am I?
Well I did it even with bad grace.
Bed for me.
Not great but all the same, damage limitation.
Signing off.

See you at the bus stop tomorrow. X

Hello, hello, hello.

Hello to everyone, and hi to JAB/JAR, and PIckles and anyone else new, and HELLO and frantic waving to Algee.

Have barely skimmed all the recent pages so have missed loads and will try to catch up at sme point. Middle of the day here and very, very hot, and I'm supposed to be somewhere else at the moment so I'm just sneaking in quickly.

Christi if your therapist isn't helping I know a guy in Glasgow called Jonathan Clark (google Jonathan Clark and NLP). He helped a friend of mine who was suicidal, self-harming really badly, and a complete fucked up mess. I can tell you more about him when I get back.

Will come back soon and report on the exciting events here.

TODAY it is the anniversary of Ghandi's birthday and NO-ONE IN INDIA IS DRINKING.

(Good celebration that has a no-drink day) Smile

JABnowJAR · 02/10/2010 09:04

Morning brave babes

Venus hope you're having a fab time and how apt to have non-drinking.

Red sorry I missed you last night. Let me know what you think of strictly. It was fab, as JWN said Matt Baker was fab despite the dodgy start!

Hi to hippy, SAF, algee, getting, desire, luci, pickle and pav. Sorry if I've missed anyone.

luci are you feeling glad today that you managed to limit how much you drank?

Wasindie are you ok?

Well, Day 3 for me and I'm feeling good. Wasn't tempted at all by wine last night even though DH came in from footie and had 3 beers despite saying he was going to be good too. Confused

I was particularly glad that Id resisted when DD woke up at 4am for a feed. I MUST keep reminding myself that it's do much easier to do this without any wine inside me.

I need some of you to wish me luck for tonight...I'm going to a b'day party. At the moment I don't feel any desire to drink and I've volunteered to drive. However, my friend also wants to drive as she's full of cold. I'm going to try and put my foot down.

Sorry for the long post Smile

jesuswhatnext · 02/10/2010 09:08

wasindie!!! come and chat my lovley!!, you having a rough time?

venus - Envy at being hot!, i wouldnt rush home if i were you, its bloody miserable here!

a very good morning to everyone else!!

hippy, bet you feel really pleased today! Smile

jesuswhatnext · 02/10/2010 09:13

jab!, tell your friend she needs a whiskey for the cold! Grin, good luck though tonight, partys can be very hard! Sad, i just tell myself to think of the morning, waking up feeling like deep fried dog shit, guilty, smelly and altogether just not very nice! - i am finding though that the longer im sober the easier social occasions become - i get a tiny bit bored now with drunks! Blush

gettingeasier · 02/10/2010 09:15

Well I caved in and bottle of wine hit the freezer and then me.

It was rather disappointing actually and SCD set me off on a long road of self pity along the lines of heres another year gone by where I am lonely etc.

So instead of loving my favourite programme and licking my lips on a wine glass it was all doom and gloom Confused

Never mind that was yesterday.

Lucil well done for keeping it down

Well done SAF nearly at goal Wink

Well done JAR should have remained on sofa net to you and JWN

Hope you're ok Wasin

Red you are in for a treat SCD was fab it was me that was the problem.

Hope everyone enjoys their day and achieves what ever alcohol wise they set out to do.

I expect today I will be drinking

JABnowJAR · 02/10/2010 09:22

JWN In a sick kind of way I'm quite looking forward to seeing how everyone behaves as they start to get drunk! Hopefully this will spur me on. I dread to think how annoying/boring Ive been over the years whilst pissed.

getting I hope you're not feeling too bad this morning, just pick yourself up and start again. We've all been there many times! What are your plans for the day?

jesuswhatnext · 02/10/2010 09:26

getting!, why are you letting the drink dictate your life for you? - it dosent sound like you even like it very much anymore - tell it to fuck the fuck off! its a choice you DO have!

JABnowJAR · 02/10/2010 09:30

Getting I've just re-read your last line. I thought you'd said 'I expect today I will not be drinking'.

Why not put the 'not' into that sentence?!

pavalova · 02/10/2010 09:44

Morning babes.

Fantastic Hippy, hope you are feeling proud today.

Fancy a 'non-drinking' celebration day - can't imagine that ever happening in the UK, and in the sunshine - can we all get a flight??

Getting and Wasindie, today is another day, try and be kind to yourselves. You slipped up is all. Smile

Hope everyone has a good day - I have an indoor soft play 5 year old birthday party to go to. Very grateful not to be hungover!

pavalova · 02/10/2010 09:56

Lucil, at the end of the last thread you said that you would finish an open bottle. Last night you didn't. It does seem like you are changing to me. x
