The Brave Babes Carry On The Charabanc Trip - Leaving The Booze Behind!

1000 replies

Mouseface · 14/09/2010 11:33

Hello and welcome! Smile

This is thread number eight!

The Brave Babes are all at different stages of quitting the booze. Some have stopped, some are thinking about it and some are just cutting down.

They are full of support and wisdom for those of you wishing to climb aboard the Bus or Charabanc!! Grin

The Babes aren't an exclusive club, they never judge and they don't charge for advice either!

So, come meet them. I'm Mouse, by the way, and I've been sober since August 2nd 2010, something I would never have even considered without the support of these threads.

Here are the first seven threads, if you want a bit of history.

I'm venus and I'm up the front, so I can see out and don;t get travel sick, and far away from the naughty girls at the back - don;t want to be corrupted Grin

MsGee · 14/09/2010 12:24

Can I get a window seat near the back? I am not too naughty but want to appear to be cool. Plus, sitting at the front brings back very bad memories of having to do so through being hungover.

Dizzydollybird · 14/09/2010 14:11

Hi all,
I'm getting on now! Was continually chasing the last bus down the street but never getting to front (was reading so slowly I never got to the end to post)

I'm Dizzy, I'm fairly new to these parts and a fairly infrequent poster but I will do my best to help and be helped.

Tiny potted history, stopped drinking 4 years ago, spent 1 year in AA and the rest just winging it and pootling along just fine and dandy and sober.

Kudos to all who are stopped, stopping or just realising that trouble's brewing (no pun intended). I never had any insight into my problem before I stopped so if you've got that far - WELL DONE - and keep at it, it gets easier in time but take it one day at a time.

Take care all, have a happy day x

RedMoomin · 14/09/2010 14:12

Hello dizzy! Welcome aboard!

Hey dizzy

Congratulations on 4 years sober!! Lovely to have you aboard the charabanc!!

I think that 'One Day At A Time' should be the permanent advertising banner down the sides of the bus!!!

MsGee · 14/09/2010 14:45

Hi Dizzy, nice to have you aboard. Four years! My brain can barely process that to be honest. Smile

Hi getting. Am equipped with many biscuits and much chocolate for the ride Grin

Dizzydollybird · 14/09/2010 14:52

Thanks guys - you're very kind.

You're right MsGee - 4 years!!! but I still very vividly remember day 1 and that helps me stay sober, it was hell in the night and I'm not going back there!

Mouse, I'll bring pink paint a la Priscilla Queen of the Desert for the banner, so long as I can sit on the giant shoe on the top?

MissPerrier · 14/09/2010 14:52

Hi to getting and dizzy and MissP

I'm not ignoring the others but we've just been chatting on the end of the other thread. Being Scottish, I don't like to see anything wasted and that includes the last few empty posts at the end of the thread Grin

venusandmars · 14/09/2010 15:26
