Hello, welcome to thread five!! Smile

I'm Mouse and I'm 10 whole days sober which is bloody amazing given that I would normally consume nearly 90 units per week! And that's without 'special occasions'!! Shock

So, if I can do it, you can do it! The support here is awesome, no matter where you are in your quest to quit. No judging, no cliquey groups.

We are just real, honest people. All helping each other to give up the booze. Come meet the other Brave Babes........................

And for those who would like to read the adventures so far, here are the links from the first four threads!

JWN's original thread (the reason we are all here)

So true Red, even on the occasions when I knew I had said and done nothing wrong I still felt so bad about myself. I gave myself a harder time then anyone else did:(

maddogsandenglishmen · 12/08/2010 15:54

I think that being with someone who is not drinking makes people feel that they are doing something "bad" and the other person is somehow stronger. Or that the non-drinking is judging them (even if they're not). Whereas if you are both drinking, no one is "good" and no one is "bad" IYSWIM.

Bit like tucking into a huge chocolate cake with the other person saying "Oh no, I don't eat dessert". Would you feel completely comfortable enjoying the cake?

desiretochange · 12/08/2010 16:06

Very complicated this no drinking:)

MIFLAW · 12/08/2010 16:23

I do not consider myself dissed if that helps

NeedsTo · 12/08/2010 16:25

Very complicated this no drinking

So true! Grin

Hope you've heard something back Trinity and that it's better news.

Now if MIFLAW was about he'd say something along the lines of: "It's not bloody complicated. What's hard about not picking up the first drink?!" Grin

Anyway, Babes hope everyone has wonderful evenings... I have the flat to myself, plenty of diet coke and chocolate and a good book to finish. Bliss!

Stay safe. Stay sober.

RedMoomin · 12/08/2010 16:28

God, he is about! It's like magic Wink

desiretochange · 12/08/2010 16:31

Aw MIFLAW you are seen on this thread as the voice of reason, he who will be adored, listened to etc:)
And who am I but a mere newcomer to challenge the main man:):):)

RedMoomin · 12/08/2010 16:33

As MIFLAW is just too happy to say, he might like to think he's god but he's not!

Sorry - MIFLAW, I am sure you can speak for yourself!

desiretochange · 12/08/2010 16:36

Yes, venus and I have met. We sat outside, drinking our tea, under a rather large parasol.

Queue the most spectacular thunderstorm. The rain was so loud we could hardly hear eachother.

But venus is amazing. She is really really clever, really smart, very intuitive, and just awfully knowledgable. She made me feel relaxed and like I CAN get a job. Her tips for my CV and for interviewing have made me feel much better. Bring it on!

DH is still recovering from nealry having burnt house down. i think that might be our low and hopfully all up from now on.

Been to doc for knees been told no running for a while!

MissPerrier · 12/08/2010 19:18

Bollocks have I missed the bus! Confused
