3+ 4+ 5+ 7+ support thread 2016

In previous years I have started these threads to help and support all those parents involved in the independent school admissions process.

I wasn't going to start one this year as I know I would not be able to check back on it as regularly as I would like, which then defeats the purpose of the thread.

However, after numerous positive PM's about the threads I think it would be a shame not to start one where at least the hand holding can continue.

There are many many people who have been through the process and 'live to tell the tale' . There are also other tutors I know who read this thread and it would be great if you all could help and support and share your ideas.

After the spat last year, no-one else started a thread either. No point in setting yourself up for a kicking.

And although there have been some posts from those doing these assessments scattered around other threads, and some people have answered, I don't think there is any sense of mutual support his year. And it's so late on in the process that I don't think it'll happen now.

Was I the only person thinking this thread was about BODMAS?

mumteacher, would you have any advice for second round for 4+ at NLCS and Habs?

I set up these threads each and yes each year there are those with differing opinions on the subject .... And well rightful so as everyone is entitled.

Happy to take a "kicking" if it means helping others in the process x

Not yet but will be camping out by the door tomorrow awaiting the postman!

Hope you are well. My daughter has been called for a second assessment at NLCS. She is born in December. I was hoping you could please guide me asto what they expect. We are really hoping that she gets in so any advise would be very very helpful please. Please can you guide us?

No we got a call as none of the dates they mentioned were suitable because of a family tragedy.

Mumteacher - I for one appreciate these threads. The 4+ is clouded in so much secrecy that it is ridiculous.

We are also awaiting 2nd round notification for NLCS and Channing. Any information you can offer in the second round would be v v much appreciated. We are also off to St Albans Girls today.

Biscuit are you a tutor? I remember someone with a similar name a few years back who was. Wondering if your the same. Do you have Chn sitting any assessments?

We are also still waiting. Am I right in thinking it will be by email whether a yes or a no?

I guess so, by email. It said "by email" in the letter. Also I remember I received a testing email in November, to make sure they have got the correct email address. Nothing yet, still waiting.
