I have done two tests the past couple of days both very faint +ves. Just wanted to be the first person here! Have changed my usual name as it's such early days yet...

OP posts:

Elvis i am so pleased that you saw your bean, i was also offered early scans, but i said no until i reach nine weeks. I didn't have a GP test with my last two pregnancies, but after the last one a very young doctor argued with me that i was only having a late period, despite having passed "tissue". So i thought that this time if it is on the hospitals records, that they have done the test and it was +ve then if anything goes wrong i won't have to go through that trauma again. The home pregnancy test are more advanced that the GP's test anyway or so my GP told me. You must be relieved to have seen your little one.

bossykate · 11/07/2003 20:18

hi elvis, can't tear myself away from this thread somehow! that is great news. i had a scare early on in my last pregnancy too and can remember so well how wonderful it was to see that knobbly-bean-with-a-heartbeat. good for you

bluestar · 11/07/2003 21:42

Like Bossykate, I too have now left this thread but just wanted to wish everyone here a very successful pregnancy. Maybe bossykate and I can start the 'Anyone due April 2004?' thread..... and I mean this with the best of intentions, but I really hope that no-one else joins us there from here.

morocco · 11/07/2003 23:18

thank you lewei for your kind words.
well the news is not so bad so far so I still have everything crossed. I had another scan and the 'egg' is still there and has grown over the last few days which is a good thing. Also the bleeding has more or less stopped. And it looks as if I will be joining you, lewei, on the painting fingernails blue activity because I've been signed off work for the week. So now I just have to find a way of keeping ds amused without picking him up or running around. And think of a valid excuse for all my colleagues for why I'm allowed to go to the beach but not to work.

And I never thought this would be a positive thing but this evening ds's food smelt really bad and I felt sick!!!!

Hope all you guys are doing well

morocco · 11/07/2003 23:40

congrats elvis on the little bean!

quackers · 12/07/2003 16:03

Hi everyone! I'm a new addition to the March thread! Hope u don't mind me joining! Hi LEWEI!!! Didn't think I'd be here with you!!! Great to be here. Am very very early days but trying to be optimistic! Lost my last one at 15 weeks and really hope this works out!! Morocco, things seem much more postive!!! I got 2 very positiv tests this am and can't help being excited!!!

chatee · 12/07/2003 22:34

hi quackers...excellent news.....here's keeping our fingers crossed for all of us on this thread
hope to chat to you soon
lewei- still no results, even the gp's surgery say this is long and will look into it on monday and start booking me in for a scan etc and a chance to talk to gp/midwife.a little worried as spotted but less again yesterday night-the thing that's worrying me is that i have spotted both times after a day at work....uhhmmmm.

morocco · 13/07/2003 11:36

fantastic news quackers!

I was the same with my bleeding, chatee - after teaching a teenage class (knackering)but also after walking around too much in the heat of the day. I think my doc was right to sign me off for a week as it seemed to stop the minute I put my feet up. Altho persuading dh that I really can't do all the housework and look after ds and relax at the same time is a dfferent matter. Could you maybe take a few days off work too?

Are you going to the Lpool meetup chatee? wish I could go - we're visiting his mum that weekend on the wirral and my grandad in maghull - maybe I can persuade dh to drive me into town

How are everyone's little beans coming along?

chatee · 13/07/2003 19:11

yes i am definetly going to the liverpool meet up, they are a really good laugh and the food was lovely, plus we have an excuse to have a pudding(hehe). They only last a couple of hours so do really try and come it's such an easy location as well.I hope you can join us

chatee · 13/07/2003 19:14

sorry morrocco, how old is your ds??

morocco · 13/07/2003 22:09

ds is only 9 months - I think that might be why I've been having problems this time round - call me paranoid! He's a great little rugrat though.

How's everyone getting along?

bluestar · 13/07/2003 22:31

Quackers, great news! Really pleased for you. Thanks for your support on the other thread. Good luck.

quackers · 14/07/2003 08:44

Thanks bluestar, how are you doing?? Thanks for your kind words. Thinking of you!!!

LEWEI · 14/07/2003 10:08

Oh Quackers! i am so pleased to see you here i must be hormonal today because i burst into tears when i saw your post. Sorry i didn't get a chance to post over the weekend but dp was hogging the computer, he has become obsessed with eBay for some strange reason!!! I am praying for every one of us, those of us still on this thread and those that we hope to see starting another thread soon. Morocco your news is great, enjoy your time off. I have had to lie to some family and friends, saying that i am on extended holiday, i feel bad about it but i just don't want them all to know yet.
I hope you have a nice understanding GP Chatee, it sounds to me like you could do with a rest until the spotting stops. Touch wood i haven't had any spotting for a week and a half.
Feeling very sicky today, i woke up after dreaming of a huge bacon sandwich and a huge glass of ice cold milk, so guess what i made for breakfast? and now i feel sick, i can't stop thinking of the milk and bacon squelching around in my tummy!!!!!!!!!!
Well so far over the weekend i went shopping in one blue shoe and one black shoe (not even the same style) Left the keys in the front door overnight(dp almost had a heart attack) put the cutlery in the fridge, my purse in the washing machine and to top it of the bread into the bowl of soapy water. Dp thinks this is a very good sign because i was like this when pregnant with ds. How is everyone else today.

quackers · 14/07/2003 11:10

Oh Lewei, now I'm crying!! Seriously, I'm at work and having to bury my head behind the PC!!! I'm so pleased to hear from you!! You sound great and absolutley normal!!!! So glad you are doing well! How many weeks now????? I only 4 so trying to be sensible , but can't help being excited!!!!! I feel great, more like I did with my DD and not the last unfortunate little one. I so pray for all of us that we go the whole hog!!!!

LEWEI · 14/07/2003 13:12

Almost 7 weeks now, danger time is coming soon! I think if i get passed that then i will feel more relaxed. I definately feel very much as i did with ds. Dp has likened me to worzel Gummage ( i can't even remember if thats how you spell it) according to him i have more heads than worzel!! I keep telling him, if i look a bit crabby then leave me for a little while and i will come out of it, constant "trying to cheer you up" just makes me worse.
It is soooooooooo hot today i just want to hide in the house, poor doggie and i are just poking our noses out in the garden now and again.
I keep saying to myself every day that i feel sick, have cravings and no bleeding is a bonus.
I am so pleased for you Quackers, i wish us all healthy pregnancies, now3 and in the future.
Is it hot where you are?

LEWEI · 14/07/2003 13:14

Don't know what that 3 is doing in there!!!!!!!!

quackers · 14/07/2003 13:54

Yes it's hot! I'm at work though! But took time out for lunch, went for a pizza with my good friend! I am getting more nervous as I head towards each milestone. The first will be tommorow, the day I was due on. the next 8 weeks and then 12 and 16 until I pass where I was with the last. I have to say I feel fab and not as I did with the last one, all groggy and not pg really. I'm just hoping for some sickness feeling now. Gone off tea completely, boobs are not as achy though, so I hope hormones aren't disappearing. You get paranoid don't you!! The test result was good though for anearly test so fingers crossed! Good luck all!

spikeycat · 14/07/2003 13:59

Hi all, thought I may as well join this thread now, I think I am about 5/6 weeks but don't have any of the feeling that I had with DS, I just feel v v v tired. I am going to the docs to confirm on thursday, and although its not that long since I did this before I can't remember if I need to take anything (ds is 7mnths).
I also don't know whether to ask for a dating scan?

Hilary · 14/07/2003 14:34

Hi all, half wanted a vague sicky feeling just so I could know all was progressing as it should but am having a dreadful day - have been SO sick and my whole body aches from it. Feel like I would do anything to feel normal again...

LEWEI · 14/07/2003 15:30

I am so pleased to be feeling sick as i wasn't nauseous with my last two before the mc's. I keep saying that i am not going to moan about any of the symptoms but yes it is pretty tough when the smell of ANYTHING makes you feel sick, i think i am smelling things that aren't even there!!!!!!!
I can't even decide what to make for dinner, is there food that doesn't smell??? The worst thing is, i am a chef! just about the worst proffesion to be in with pregnancy sickness. Thank god i am off for a few weeks.
I have been lying on my bed for the last hour trying to have a nap, but every little girl around seems to be playing in my neighbours garden. Why do little girls scream so much and so loud? Do they all do it? If i have a girl will she do it? I don't remember doing it myself, but i'm sure i must have. Maybe i am a bit of an old grump today, either that or i am envious of their paddling pool and wishing it was me lying in the lovely cool water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!They are verrrrrrrry loud i am surprised that the windows in the street haven't shattered!!

Hilary · 14/07/2003 15:35

I was sick with both boys but not with the one I miscarried so I suppose it is a good sign but I hate feeling this way all the time. I feel like the boys have a mummy who is operating at about 20% which doesn't seem fair on them at all. I keep telling myself, it's a phase, it's a phase!

quackers · 14/07/2003 16:09

Hi! I am feeling strong twinges in my womb, what an earth is it?? I'm 4 weeks! Pg signs all ok so far, but can't wait to feel sick as only then will I know its going ok!! last one I didn;t feel sick and mcarried too!! I just went off food. The first one I felt sick alot but wasn't physically! I know its not ectopic as I had a bleed when it implanted but these twinges are worrying me!! Anyone any ideas!!!!

M2T · 14/07/2003 16:19

Quackers are they like period pains? I had them for the first 3 months of my pregnancy around the time my period would've been due. I panicked myself silly, but my pregnancy went perfectly well. Try to relax, you've done it!!!

Good luck and enjoy.

morocco · 15/07/2003 22:58

welcome spikeycat
how's everyone doing? Any news from the docs yet chatee?
I had similar pains in the first pregnancy quackers and all was fine - I think they're fairly common. It's hard not to worry though I know
I got my urine results back and no problems there which is great news as I'd hate to be on pills for that as well. I forgot to ask before but I have to take progesterone for the next few weeks - does anyone know anything about this or had to do it before? And breastfeeding is almost at an end - just 2 half feeds left - ds has taken to the bottle really well - I feel a bit cheated!

Hope it's not too hot for you guys
