The blood disappeared as quickly as it appeared so i am feeling much better today, i have taken the day off just to relax. I really shouldn't moan about my dp like i did, he is a lovely person just a bit of a fusser. Anyway enough of my moaning, how are all you mums to be today? I am so hungry one minute and when i make what i think i want, then i am queasy!!!!!!!!! Apart from crisps for some reason, i could eat them and pickles till i popped and i bought the biggest muffin i have ever seen yesterday and enjoyed every bit (never really liked muffins before).
Hope you are all well today.

bossykate · 04/07/2003 12:58

hi lewei, that's fantastic news!

lucky for me, no nausea, didn't get any till about week 8 last time, but it lasted till week 19...

am sooo hungry! i'm going to start a food and exercise diary next week, just to make sure i don't end up the size of a house. i have in fact made packed lunches the last three days so that i've got a supply of healthy food to hand (as opposed to the crisps and choc available from the vending machine...) but have forgotten it every day...

ages to go yet - got bored last time at week 8!

Elvis · 04/07/2003 22:52

Great news Lewei!
Hope you had a relaxing day.
I'm just so tired.

LEWEI · 05/07/2003 10:15

Good morning everyone, i have just eaten 3/4 of a cantaloupe, once i started it there was no stopping me. I feel a bit sick now but it was lovely and cool and juicy. I never really got mad cravings for soap or coal ect, i think my most disgusting craving was for licking the salt and vinegar from Mcoys crisps, dp thought it was revolting but it rang my bell So i am quite looking forward to seeing what this pregnancy will bring. Hopefully lots of healthy cravings. I lost seven stone before falling pregnant with ds, i think i could quite easily put it back on if i am not sensible. Hope you are all well

jojo21 · 05/07/2003 13:05

morocco · 07/07/2003 23:39

hello everyone can I join informally?
Did the test today and I'm pregnant but worried about jinxing things so it's a secret for now even from dh
I've got a scan on wednesday so I should know more then but I'm too excited not to tell mumsnet all about it right now. Fingers crossed everyone.

bossykate · 08/07/2003 05:36

hi morocco, congratulations! i know what you mean, i haven't told anyone from real life yet, except dh of course.

bells2 · 08/07/2003 07:57

What lovely news Bk and Lewei!! Many congrats.

M2T · 08/07/2003 08:01

Congrats Morocco! I don't know how you can all keeop it a secret, I wanted to but found myself blabbing to everyone when I was 5 weeks pregnant. In fact I phoned all my friends just a few minutes after I had the test result!

It made for a very looonnng pregnancy so I wish I could've waited until the first scan. So good on you all for having such good willpower.

LEWEI · 09/07/2003 17:50

Went to GP this morning for pregnancy confirmation ect and i have been signed off work until i pass 12wks. I was quite shocked to begin with but now i accept that it is for the best. I just don't know what i will do with myself for the next 6 weeks!!!!!!!! Lots of relaxing and dog walking i think and perhaps a touch of pickle onion eating thrown in just to endear myself to dp who is moaning that i smell of vinegar every time he wants a kiss. As of yesterday tea, coffee, diet coke, beans, cucumber and bananas are very much out of favour and in comes custard, tomato soup, wotsits and my very very favourite pickled anything Hope you are all having a good day

morocco · 09/07/2003 19:29

enjoy yourself lewei! It's great that your doc signed you off work like that. I hope it helps to keep you nice and relaxed.

I had my dating scan today as I had no idea at all when the baby was due - I've been bfeeding and only had a couple of periods months ago. The doc felt my stomach and guessed at 8 weeks but then the scan showed it's just happened as it were and doesn't even have a heart beat yet - so my stomach must be in great shape
So back for another scan in a few weeks to check all is OK
I told dh yesterday - he looked really shocked. I think all ideas of me in frilly knickers went right out the window.
I've had really bad backache since last week - has anyone else had that? the doc said not to worry but you know how it is . . .

Hilary · 09/07/2003 21:24

Hi all, I thought I would join this thread too. I am actually due at the end of February but ds1 was 10 days late and ds2 was 13 days late so I'm being realistic! I am 7 weeks and have had 2 days of morning sickness and am feeling quite depressed about the prospect of it lasting for weeks. I also had a miscarriage at the end of last year so am a bit nervous about that too. My boys are 4 1/2 and 2 1/2.

morocco · 10/07/2003 12:58

hi hilary - welcome to the club

lewei - how come you're not posting already? have you found more interesting things to do on your time off????

anyone else got any symptoms yet?

LEWEI · 10/07/2003 14:21

Well so far this morning i have emptied out my cutlery drawer, watched Trisha, eaten a strawberry tart, walked the dog, painted my toenails blue and my fingernails a very scary colour of purple (which is going to scare the life out of dp). So no i haven't really found anything more interesting to do yet!! I went to the library yesterday, but it was very hot and stuffy, which made me sweaty and nauseous so i won't be doing that again in a hurry. I have also had quite bad backache all week, i have had dp rubbing lavender cream on my back at bedtime which is very enjoyable The strawberry tart was a baaaaaaad idea, dp's mum brought it for me, so i didn't want to be rude and refuse but i managed to sneak bits of it to my fruit and veg eating freaky dog. She is thinks this is great, mum is at home all day and she doesn't eat half of the things that she makes so lucky Brea ends up with lots of munchies. I am not going to complain about any of my symptoms because i am just so glad that they are there and they are strong. Hope you are all well today

bossykate · 10/07/2003 15:05

hello everyone, i'm bowing out of this one i'm afraid. just wanted to wish you all luck, and i look forward to seeing happy news posted here next march. best wishes to you all.

Hilary · 10/07/2003 16:15

bossykate, what has happened? Have I missed something?

I'm so sorry to see you go from this thread.

Elvis · 10/07/2003 16:22

Bossykate - your message obviously infers bad news. I'm so sorry.

Hilary- I've also got 2 boys, nearly 5 and 2 1/2 and had a mc earlier this year. Although I haven't had it really badly, I try to welcome morning sickness as a sign of a healthy pregnancy. (Doesn't really work when you're feeling crap though!!)Did you have it badly with previous pregnancies?

Hilary · 10/07/2003 16:44

Hello Elvis, very similar to me then, ds1 is 5 in november, ds2 is 3 in december and my miscarriage was last november. I am 7 weeks, how about you?

I did have morning sickness with both boys, horribly and all day with ds1, slightly more manageable with ds2. So far, this is the 'best' morning sickness I've had so I guess I just have to be thankful that it's not worse and remember that people say it is a good sign of a healthy pregnancy.

BossyKate, I have just read another thread and gather you have miscarried. I have been through this last november and it isn't nice. My love to you. There are lots of lovely folks on Mumsnet who have been through this and were very supportive to me, I'm sure they will be to you as well.

LEWEI · 10/07/2003 17:01

Love to you BossyKate, i read your post on the other thread. I am so sorry for your loss.

chatee · 10/07/2003 18:01

sorry to hear your news bk and blue star....take care of yourselvesxxxxx
Well I'm still waiting for the "official" confirmation from the GP's, how long did everyone else have to wait for the results from their urine samples????
last time(different part of the country)I had them back within 2 days, this is now day 4 and they have said to try after 5 pm tomorrow
cos of the problems with last pregnancy and dd i just need to talk to someone..

moosh · 11/07/2003 09:49

If you are still reading this thread sorry to hear of your loss bossykate. These early months are a rea; rollercoaster, you want to be happy when you find your pregnant but don't want to be 100% happy incase anything goes wrong. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time XXX

LEWEI · 11/07/2003 11:45

Chatee i had to wait SIX days for my confirmation, which i think is ridiculous in this day and age. I hope they have it for you today, even though i had +ve home tests i still felt a little easier when i had the official one. Going on the hunt for some pickled cauliflower, will return!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

chatee · 11/07/2003 12:24

I have done 2 +ve tests at home but like you know just want the reassurance....felt really sicky this morning and after dd had done her weekly physio session we both curled up together on the sofa and she slept for 1.5 hours and I dozed....off to sports day this afternoon

LEWEI · 11/07/2003 14:20

I saw your post on the other thread Morocco, you are in my thoughts. Fingers and everything else are crossed that you will be ok.

Elvis · 11/07/2003 15:52

I've never had a pregnancy test done by the GP! Despite being at the same practice for my previous pregnancies. I've never waited for confirmation from them. I told them I'd done a home test, then I suppose it saves tham a few quid!

Had a scan today as I had a missed misscarriage earlier this year and I was offered one for any subsequent pregnancy. Relieved to say that all was fine, but have to keep telling myself I'm only 7 weeks, despite all being well so far. It was lovely to see my lovely 'bean' though!
