Hi all. Glad all is well with you. And hi quackers !!!! Is it my turn to email can't remember ???!!!
I am really having a struggle breathing now and feeling very uncomfortable. Haven't put on too much I don't think. Don't really know but probably about 2 stone. Im smaller than with dd and feel quite compact just unbelievably uncomfy !
It really is quite scary now isn't it. Morocco my dd started nursery for the same reason so give me a bit more time but mainly actually because she starts school when she's 3. She has been going for a couple of weeks now and I have been very proud of how well she has been doing but the reality seems to have hit her now and she's got very clingy. She clung to me this morning pleading with me to stay and I must admit I cried my eyes out. Nursery staff didn't know who to hug hormones, hormones, blame it on the hormones ! She tells me all the things she's doing each morning and does seem to be enjoying it but at the same time I guess that it takes some adjusting too. She's nearly 2 and a half and has been going to the gym creche regularly for an hour or so since little. She goes to nursery 4 mornings and her scheduled times are 9-1 but she only stays 9-11 or half eleven at moment while she's settling in. She has also embarked on potty training the last week and is doing very well but that is more hassle to deal with !!
Nevermind. Oh the joys. Yikes, can't believe im doing it all again
Love to mums and bumps. xxxxx

moosh · 24/01/2004 12:54

By the way Lewei, my nipples especially the left ( was cut by ds1 when trying to breastfeed) is really painful. It is worse when it is cold they don't change colour, but the sensitive pain is so bad that it feels like someone has plonked a big block of ice of it. I couldn't take anymore and went out and bought Kamillosan, a chamomile ointment for dry or sore nipples and it has seemed to work. I use it in the morning and the pain has gone. It can also be for other mild skin complaints and I have used it on ds because he suffers from bouts of dry skin. I have used it in place of hydrocortisone for him and it has done wonders. Try it and see.

Quackers · 24/01/2004 15:54

Wow, you're all about to drop! Lewei, can't believe 4 weeks!!
TM, I'll mail you in the next few days! Promise!
So glad you're all well! I'm almost 14 weeks now and settling a little. It feels great to be this far and over the worst bit.
Good luck to you all!

morocco · 28/01/2004 23:22

fantastic that you're at 14 weeks already quackers - are you starting to get that 2nd trimester bloom - passed me by first time round mind you!
I can't believe you're going to be giving birth on the 19th lewei - wow - only a few more weeks to go!!! will that be at 38 weeks? I was sorry to hear about all the heartache involved in going to the same hospital where little lewis died. hugs.
how's your dd in nursery now tillysmummy? ds starts tomorrow after me humming and haring about it for ages - I'm really nervous!
no news as such - my bp has started to yoyo a bit which is quite stressful but a good excuse to put my feet up more. and all baby clothes are now washed and waiting ( well out of reach of cat who loves nothing more than to sit on piles of clean washing). and hospital bag is sort of coming along - so far I have packed essentials like vanilla shower gel but no pyjamas (getting some hideous ones specially as I can't imagine ever wanting to wear them again)
love to all - can't wait to see youall on the childbirth thread

moosh · 30/01/2004 12:55

HOORAH HOORAH!!!!!!! I'm finally on maternity leave at 36 weeks. I have just discovered that I have a varicose vein and I blame that fact that I haven't sat down much while working. Just really being lazy in the mornings once ds has gone to pre-school, I get back and just lazzzzzeeeeee the morning away ready for painting, videos, table football and other 4 year old games. I think he is really pleased that mummy is here all week to take him to pre-school and pick him up my mum used to do it 3 days a week for me. Hope everyone else is doing well, not long for all of us now, must dash off to exersises. Take care XXXX

chatee · 30/01/2004 18:49

well i'm still here too.......and like moosh i am enjoying my morning relax whilst dd is at nursery-so glad father christmas brought dd some nice new jigsaw puzzles and the honey bee tree game as that's what we are now doing most afternoons-with a little bit of cbeebies thrown in too..
had a scan on wednesday and he apparently weighs around 5lb 7oz so that beats dd already....going to a labour/delivery class next tuesday(hopefully) as never been to one before and as this is hopefully a vbac i need to know the pain relief options etc
hope eveyone else is well, lots of love
ps:Quackers great to hear from you on here-i do try and keep up with how you're getting on-take care

morocco · 31/01/2004 14:45

I didn't know you were going to try vbac chattee - me too fingers crossed
my obs is very knife happy though (might change at the last minute - i have an appointment with someone else this Friday)
I had a checkup with her yesterday and after saying all along that it would be OK to try, this time she was going all out trying to persuade me to go under the knife (dh is cynical and says its cos she makes more dosh but I think she's a bit of a controlfreak)
so I have a time limit of a centimentre an hour, need about 100 blood tests etc and also xray (this is v common here but as I know someone whose baby got stuck I'mnot complaining) and have been told I have a 50% c hance of success.
Guess they're a bit more optimistic where you are chattee?? Really must change doctor!
horrendous braxton hicks have started and lots of backache but otherwise doing pretty well really.
ds was born 2 weeks today if you see what I mean - strange to think!
enjoy the maternity leave everyone - we deserve it

happy1 · 02/02/2004 10:58

Does anybody else feel like their stomach is going to rip open? I've got 6 weeks to go (unless shes 3 weeks early like ds) and I honestly don't think there is any more room in there. I don't remember ever being this uncomfortable with my first pregnancy. Anyone feel the same?

chatee · 02/02/2004 21:19

i know exactly how you feel happy1-i had my first dd at 33 weeks and i am now 35+weeks and feel like my skin is going to explode...also have really bad groin and backache and braxton hicks are quite strong at times(enough to take my breath away)even my dd just wants to meet her little brother now
how's everyone else??? cor did i miss mumsnet today!!!

spikeycat · 03/02/2004 14:47

I'm feeling really cheesed off, wondering why the hell I am doing this and feeling generally shit that I may be messing up my ds1's first years (he's only just 14 months).
I'm tired, can't be bothered to go out (so poor ds1 stuck with me in the house) and feel like I've made a mistake - bit late now I know! How am I going to cope with two?? Worst thing is that I know I am being selfish and self indulgent and that I really am lucky to be able to have babies at all - but I just feel so low - sorry for the rant

moosh · 04/02/2004 13:31

I'm sure you will be fine spikeycat. It must be a little daunting with two so close in age, my ds is 4 so haven't got that but you will be fine because you just have to be. There is 13 months between me and my sister and my mum said that she used to worry how she would cope as a single parent, but she said that she just got on with it. Sorry everyone is feeling a little fed up at the mo, the last stage is awful isn't it. I have constant back ache and groin strain ache too and generally feeling out of breath and full up. Ohn well only 3 and a bit weeks to go for me, can't come soon enough. Am also thinking of having a water birth as my lower back is so weak. Hope evryone feels better over the next few weeks. Chins up!!

spikeycat · 04/02/2004 14:39

thanks - feeling a bit better today - the midwife came round and the baby is still breach, got to go in to c the consultant in 10 days for him to have a go at turning it, if he can't she thinks it would be better to try and give birth rather than a section, as I have ds1 to look after too.

morocco · 04/02/2004 15:05

hugs spikeycat
ds will be 17 months max when ds2 arrives so I know just how you feel - motherhood is sometimes a constant state of guilt I find - I really can't imagine loving any other child as much as ds1 but everyone assures me it happens, and I often think that even if it's tough for him at first ( but perhaps even tougher if they're a little older?) the pay off will be having a little brother so close in age when he's that bit older - always a friend to play with etc
hormones hey!
I spent all yesterday washing the walls with bleach - strange woman

Hilary · 04/02/2004 17:56

Anyone else never feeling hungry anymore? I can't seem to work up an appetite for anything at all and am just picking throughout the day cos I feel like I ought to eat something. Didn't feel like this the last two times.

Elvis · 05/02/2004 09:42

Same here Hilary. I think it's probably due to lack of space. I'm amazed any food can squeeze in around my bump. Nearly keeled over yesterday due to not eating so will keep nibbling today!

chatee · 11/02/2004 20:18

hello everyone,
how are we all keeping??(exploding????)
well i can't believe that i am still pregnant-i am now nearly 37 weeks(i had dd at 33 weeks)so it feels really strange especially as everyone was saying that this babe would come early too....i'm just getting so excited(until i think about labour that is!!)can't wait to meet my little man
good luck and take care everyone especially Lewei-will be thinking of you all...

Quackers · 11/02/2004 21:17

Good luck Chatee, lewei, Morocco and all of you about to give birth!! I'll be watching out!!

AnnaK · 16/02/2004 14:44

Is anyone else bored with this now... I am due on 1st March and can barely move from the pressure causing backache. Another two weeks at least to go. I am sick of playing Free Cell, I don't like daytime TV, I feel as though I have read every thread on Mumsnet...
Any advice on how to keep occupied? I love reading but am running out of books!
Sorry, just moaning. The rest of the pregnancy has been mostly great. I am looking forward to actually seeing what I have been growing for the last nine months but am quite scared about the next part...

LEWEI · 16/02/2004 14:50

Hi everyone, Two days to go and i am getting more nervous by the minute. My section is on Thurs morning. Part of me is hoping that i go into labour before then, i would have liked to at least have tried a VBAC but the choice was taken out of my hands for my sake and the little ones.
Apart from having a UTI and a touch of flu we are doing just fine.
I have a real craving for chips for some reason and as a rule we don't eat fried food unless dining out. I am ashamed to say that i have had them four times in the last seven days, the man in the chip shop is becoming quite a personal friend!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you are all well and keeping those pregnant chins up, not long to go now.
Next time you hear from me will be when i get home, god willing with my baby this time. If any of you have time, say a little prayer for us on Wed night.

gingernut · 16/02/2004 14:55

Good luck, LEWEI .

Quackers · 16/02/2004 15:25

Good luck!!!!!!

chatee · 16/02/2004 15:58

will be thinking of you lewei and will say a special prayer for you and your family

Tillysmummy · 16/02/2004 19:25

Lewei, lots of luck to you all. Will be thinking of you. xxxx

Hi Quackers !!! Sorry been so crap at keeping in touch. Been a bit of a couple of months settling dd into nursery she has had chicken pox, I have had a viral and gum infection for a few weeks and dh now got chicken pox too so it's been a bit chaotic ! Other than that all is fine with us - how are you doing ?

Annak if this is your first then I bet you can't wait to meet him / her. I am the same and it's my second and I was just the same with my first. No tips on how to relieve boredom just would say make the most of every leisurely minute you have pleasing you go to the hairdresser, get your feet pedicured, go for lunch, coffee, lunch, dinner etc etc ! It's all about to change and you will have little or no time for you for a little while. Even luxuriate in the shower and spend as long as you can doing everything you enjoy ! I wish someone had said this to me first time !

morocco · 16/02/2004 23:00

hi all

good luck with it all lewei - I ll be thinking of you thursday - lots of love to you, your family and new little arrival

I'm a total hormonal mess now and constantly burst into tears or bite peoples heads off for no real reason - god forbid this should go on for another month so ds2 better put in an appearance sooner rather than later for everyone elses sake - also eating boxes of quality street in a kind of 'having my period' mood

today I almost thought everything might be about to start - had to rush ds to hospital to have the end of his finger stitched after it got swuished in a door - we ended up in a room next to the delivery room and I was in a right state - wouldn't have surprised me if it had all started then and there but luckily not;

sorry to hear about the chickenpox tillysmummy - hows your little one now?

I'm not so much bored as terrified about the next few months - how on earth am I going to combine bf/getting up all night/looking after my toddler??? to compensate I'm making the most of every day of 'freedom' going shopping/meeting friends/reading books and watching buffy - little did I realise how much I could actualy get done with a toddler in tow

whinge whinge - oh I hope it's not much longer!!

love to all anyhow - hope you're more chipper than me today!

moosh · 17/02/2004 15:04

Well I am doing fine just 10 days to go. Will be thinking of you Lewei and hope all goes well.
Have incredible weighty feeling on lower abdomen and back passage feel as if he is coming any second. THANK GOD!!!! I really want him to come early, I will be happy if he comes on his due date, but will be pissed off if he is late, ds was 7 days late. Had a few scares the other night, thought it was going to happen, but to dh's delight (too knackered to contemplate rushing me down the hossi!!!) it was a false alarm. Been on maternity leave 2 weeks and to be honest the first week was dreadful but am now beginning to enjoy time spent lazing and with ds's half term from nursey I haven't had time to think. Am keeping his week really busy and secretly hoping that this will bring on the labour. Still exersising and hoping to go right up until the day before he is due. No real advice Annak apart from enjoy the boredom, because once the little one comes you will be wishing for the occasional day to laze and do nothing, but you won't be able to with your new addition. I agree with the others lots of pampering and really relax. Glad everyone is swell and well and hopefully next time I post there will be some great news about a few of us. Gotta go being yelled at by ds who wants to play table football (I wouldn't mind so much but it is only a little table and I have to sit on the floor with a painful back!!!)
