glas it's hotting up on here!! no news really but finding it very hard to concentrate at work these days (can you tell??) - baby is a bit less squirmy which must mean he's running out of space I guess and all seems to be going really well. I'mtotally paranoid about getting preeclampsia again and the slightest sign has me in a sweat but so far so good.
New nappies come tomorrow - my exciting moment of the day!!
And ds is getting his first real Xmas experience - loves the glittery stuff - I wasn't going to decorate the house but maybe I will now (we're away over Xmas so it didn't seem worth it)

catkin · 17/12/2003 14:30

Hi everyone, glad to hear that everyone is doing well, bp seems to be a problem for most people at the moment - I have been signed off to do parttime only until christmas and although it is really nice having more time to myself, I am finding it really really hard to stay still! Mind you it is almost chrismas and the two week break is bound to lower bp I guess.

moosh · 18/12/2003 10:59

Hope all is well. I am fine apart from feeling quite sick on these iron tablets. The sickness goes after a few hours but I have to take them 3 times a day so it is a bit exhausting. But I have only just started to take them so I'm hoping that after a week I should start to feel back to my normal self. Have a lovely Crimbo everyone!!

LEWEI · 18/12/2003 14:40

Hello all, I have developed gestational diabetes, luckily it has been caught in the very early stages and for the time being it is controlled by diet. I was quite upset between the high bp and watching for the dreaded strep b, this is all we need.
Never mind i will do what it takes to protect the little one. I don't know what we would do if we lost this little one too.
Hope you are all well and looking forward to christmas.

morocco · 18/12/2003 18:38

sorry to hear about the diabetes lewei but it's good that it's caught so early. how is your bp doing now too? are you still at work or do you have to stop early? it sounds like you're having a hard time of it with one thing and another.

how long do you have to take the iron for moosh? is anyone else taking iron tablets?

we all seem to be getting to that tired third stage. I'm hopeless at work right now - really limping through the days and waiting for the holidays to begin - off on the overnighter to Spain on Friday which I am soooo not looking forward to but once we're there it'll be good I'm sure. I've been having quite a few cramps and pains the last few days due to overwork I think so I really need to stop and relax for a bit. And pregnancy brain has arrived in a big way - who am I? what year is it?

moosh · 19/12/2003 08:35

I have to take tablets till the end of the pregnancy morrocco. This is because I am slightly aneamic (sorry if spelt wrong, bad pregnancy brain too!) I was with ds1 too and I think most women have to iron tablets in the third trimester because you are soooooo tierd and it is getting really hard now. I am a window dresser so as the belly is getting bigger it is harder to move in and out of the windows picking up mannekins e.t.c. Oh well only another 5 weeks to go and then I'm off. But I too suffer terrible lower abdominal pains if I over work my problem is I don't know when to slow down. Anyway I've got a good break over the Christmas period and I intend to make the most of it.

morocco · 19/12/2003 09:12

sounds like you have a difficult job to do moosh. I keep forgetting how big I am now and whacking stuff into my stomach so I'd be awful at having to carry stuff round and manoevre in small spaces. thank God for holidays anyway!

I'm not sure if I'll be around for the next few weeks so merry Xmas everyone and happy new year and hope you all have a lovely relaxing time of it

Tillysmummy · 24/12/2003 14:16

Happy Christmas everyone. Lots of love to you all. Hope all are well. Sorry to hear about the diabetes Lewei. Haven't been around for a while. Been very busy with work and Christmas preps but hope to chat to you all in the New Year.

Demented · 04/01/2004 23:10

LEWEI been looking for you on the Missing Persons' thread, sorry to hear about the diabetes. All the best over the next few weeks.

chatee · 05/01/2004 11:05

well how is everyone??
i have had to finish work early due to a bleeding scare over new year and was allowed home but told to rest and relax....feeling more positive than at new year(was panicking over caring for dd)
had steroid injections to improve babies lungs so fingers crossed for a few more weeks inside me..
packed my hospital bag, sorted out bag of emergency supplies for dd now just need to sort out baby stuff
take care everyone and i'll be popping on more reguarly when dd is back at nursery....lots of love

morocco · 05/01/2004 22:46

sorry to hear about your scare chattee - lots of love for the next few weeks of waiting.

I had another scan today - perhaps the last, who knows, and everything was fine - right position, average weight, still a boy . I had to take ds along to the docs and didn't realise I'd be scanned so ds got to say hello to his brother earlier than expected.
Back to work tomorrow - what a shame but only 2 more weeks to go - this preganncy seems to be really flying by. Xmas was fantastic - seems the less family the better!
love to all as we count down the weeks

moosh · 07/01/2004 17:35

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I ate something dodgy on Christmas Eve and although the Christmas dinner looked lovely, I couldn't eat it I was gutted!!! I was still ill on Boxing day and it took another day till I was fully recovered. But ds made the day worthwhile with his little face glowing as he tore open his presents. His 4th birthday next wednesday so I have taken the day off with him and there is a family get together next sunday. Baby moving more rapidly now, even to the point of feeling quite uncomfortable. Iron tablets still making me feel ill, so I have cut down from 3 to 2 a day but I must still take them according to the doctor. Take care XX

Tillysmummy · 12/01/2004 11:23

Hi everyone and Happy New Year ! Chattee so sorry to hear about your scare do let us know how you are ? Morocco glad to hear all is well and poor you Moosh .

Everything is well with me and the baby. Can't believe we are now coming into the 31st week !! Scary ! Started getting the nursery sorted at the weekend and dd is increasingly excited about her baby brother's arrival. Im starting to feel really uncomfy now, bad heartburn, getting fuller quicker and getting out of breath. Counting the weeks now. We have another scan at UCH in London on Wednesday. They have been scanning us every four weeks and must say the staff have been amazing. The cyst on his lung is getting smaller (well stayed the same size which is small compared to his growth) so that's great news and they are confident he won't need an op as soon as he is born or have trouble breathing so fingers crossed.

morocco · 13/01/2004 17:46

that's great news tillysmummy

lots of squirming going on still but sometimes (especially in the mornings) I forget I'm pregnant at all til I look in the mirror - it's always a surprise to see this bump looking back at me. must be in denial.

i have to admit I'm mostly focussing on ds right now - he's hopefully starting nursery next week for a few afternoons - so he can meet more kids and also to give me a break when the baby arrives (well kind of). It seems so strange to think that he'll soon have a baby brother - someone even smaller than him!

But maternity leave starts next week and then I'll get all the baby clothes out and washed and a little space in the house set aside for baby 2 - it's so sweet looking at the tiny baby grows - are they really ever that small?

love to all and stay in touch!

morocco · 19/01/2004 17:00

me again (where are you all?)

maternity leave starts today! yippee! to celebrate it's off to pizza hut (sad taste in food I know)
is anyone else scoffing chocolate bars like there's no tomorrow??? I'm absolutely huge - how did that happen and how can I possibly stretch for another 6 weeks?

it's all real isn't it? ohmigod - has just hit me!

vict17 · 19/01/2004 19:06

Hi!
I've got another 6 weeks of work to go I'm due 30th March, how about you? Everything seems to be going okay and baby is moving around loads. How much weight have you put on so far? I think I've put on just under 2 stone so don't want to put on too much more but with 10 weeks left to go could be tricky!

Elvis · 19/01/2004 21:26

Also started my maternity leave today. Hurray! We stupidly decided to get some work done on the house while we could still afford, so I'm here amid the chaos and dust and dirt. Must be mad!

I'd rather live in ignorance about how much weight I've put on I think. Despite the lack of space baby is very active. It's a bit unnerving to feel such big body parts squirming around in there! In theory, still have another 5 weeks to go.

vict17 · 20/01/2004 09:07

We've started thinking about child care as I'll have to go back part-time in September. I'm glad we did early cos when we rang round the nurseries only one had free spaces! We're going to see it next Tuesday so fingers crossed it's okay!! Anyone else started doing this?

chatee · 20/01/2004 09:26

well,i'm still here and starting to relax a little more although had really bad backache last night, in comparison terms dd arrived this thursday so if i go past thursday i'll be so pleased....
dread to think how much extra weight i've put on especially being a lady of leisure(ish)for the last couple of weeks...
hope everyone is well, chat soon xxx

catkin · 20/01/2004 14:46

Hi everyone - hope you are all well,

I guess am quite lucky as there is a creche at work. I've been told it has a long waiting list so put baby's name down as soon as I found out I was pregnant, hopefully there will be a place at the start of October, otherwise I don't know what we will do!

I have been merrily thinking I hadn't put on too much weight so far ... but my partner kindly told me yesterday that the scales at the gym are right ... and not the same as ours ... so I rushed off there to find out the truth, and now found out that I have put on almost 2 1/2 stone - mainly on my bum so that is my excuse for not having noticed it so far, and have 9 weeks to go ... who knows what size I will be by then , but still can't resist chocolates (or any food for that matter!!)

morocco · 21/01/2004 15:07

I went to my first ever mums and toddlers group today - making the most of the brief gap between end of work and arrival of new little one. We'll probably be moving country this summer so I'll be taking more time off before starting back at work - hands will be full anyway I imagine! - so nursery isn't a worry right now thank goodness - I cantt believe how far in advance all these things have to be thought about.
I've got a really bad neck ache - like I've pulled a muscle down one side of my head and neck - weird thing is I had exactly the same thing at exactly the same point in my last pregnancy - and also lots of back ache and pelvis pain - feeling a bit sorry for myself to be quite honest!
anyhow, off to put my feet up and eat more maltesers

Quackers · 21/01/2004 15:23

Just wanted to catch up here and I see that you're all well! Lewei, hope all is well for you now and the diabetes is ok.
TM, hiya!! Glad things are looking good for you and little one! You too Chatee and everyone else!

LEWEI · 22/01/2004 12:06

Hi everyone, i am still around, just to lazy to switch on the computer.
Good to hear that everyone is doing well.
I am doing just fine, the diabetes is now controlled by insulin. It took a bit of getting used to, but i am used to the injections now and it has become part of the everyday routine. I was never a big fan of chocolate but now that i am not allowed any, all i want to do is eat cream eggs!!!!!!!
The biggest upset was being moved from my own consultant and midwives to the consultant ect miles away, in the hospital where ds died. The fact that i have raised a case against them for their treatment of me and ds makes things quite difficult at times. I know they have to be seen to be doing that right thing this time but memories don't fade!!
Anyway four weeks today (19th Feb) this little one will be arriving by C/section, that's if baby does'nt decide to make an appearance before then!!
I must ask if any of you have ever experienced the following pregnancy symtom. My nipples keep turning blue, not the whole thing just the nipple end. It happens a few times a day and is very very painful. Each episode lasts for about half an hour but sometimes it will only go with the help of paracetemol. I have asked my GP, Consultant, Midwife and diabetic specialist and nobody has ever encoutered it before. At first i thought it was the cold weather but it happens if i am hot, cold or comfortable. Has anyone heard of it before.
Hope you are all enjoying the final weeks of waddling like a duck
Quackers i think of you often, hope you are well.

moosh · 22/01/2004 12:07

Nice to hear from you Quackers hope you are well. Well I'm still here too, not finished work yet will finish on the 28th and baby due 28th of Feb but have stayed on this thread as my first dates given were the 5th March. Pulled a ligament two days ago, but all is well, it is because my job is so physical (window dresser) and I have slowed down but not a great deal. Oh well, one more week to go and then its nest building with ds helping me. Baby's head has gone down now so it is really hard getting around now. My friend has just given birth to her third baby boy on Monday, so it's great that we will be spending time together when mine comes along. I planned to go back to work in September, but I am not now as ds starts school then, and I am a qualified massage therapist and training in reflexology in September so I will probably have a career change and work from home. I have put on about 2 stone, I put on three with ds1 so if I put on three again that isn't so bad. AND I LOVE CHOCOLATE TOO YUM YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone hate putting on their shoes now and bending over to pick things up? I hate picking up ds's toys at the end of the day, I usually go round on my knees and have persuaded ds to help which he does on occassions!!! (usually bribed). Take care everyone XXX

Hilary · 22/01/2004 17:07

I am still here, struggling on. My official due date is 29th February but I've had two very late babies so have been following this thread instead.

I am so tired all the time. I've just found out my iron levels are low - could this account for it? I am also very achey in my hips. Getting to the point now where I'm starting to think that looking after a baby can't possibly be as wearing as this!

We haven't got long left now, have we?
