Glad I'm not he only one going crazy for baked potatoes! We've just had them again, can't be beaten in my book at the moment!!

Have started to thnk I really am feeling a few movements now and that it's not my imagination.I'm nearly 18 weeks now.

Have been thinking of you Lewei over the past few weeks.

My dh is convinced this baby may be a girl as I have felt so much worse during this pregnancy than the previous two (both boys) Time will tell.

Hope everyone is well

LEWEI · 22/09/2003 21:30

Now i am thinking how good sausage, mash and gravy would taste right now, but sadly it will be a couple of digestives and a glass of milk to avoid the dreaded heartburn.
Is anyone else on the gaviscon already? i didn't need it until at least 28 weeks last time and i have had heartburn for about three weeks now.
Welcome to all who have joined us and i know that some who have sadly left us still pop in for a little look to check how we are doing and i would like them to know that they are still in our thoughts, they have not slipped our minds and we wish them all the very best for the future.
I must go and get a big cold drink for dp who is playing football, he thinks he is still 16 not 36 and a bit overweight, so will appear in about 10 mins with a scarlet face, looking for sympathy for whichever part of himself that he has strained/sprained/dislocated/torn or twisted this week. Do all men of this age behave like that(denial of getting older)or is it just my other half and friends?
The worst part isn't the overacting of the pain but the looking at me like a lost puppy and making me feel sorry for him, which i always end up doing!!!!!!!!!

Tillysmummy · 23/09/2003 14:41

Meant to say special hi to you UKCanuck, so we are nearly neighbours !! Why in Amersham do you live ?

moosh · 24/09/2003 17:09

Hi everyone welcome to all newcommers to the thread, "Where have you all been?".
I love any sort of potatoes, mashed, boiled, new, chips, jacket. Still not loving meat really, but do enjoy shephards pie and cook it every Thursday, but love prawns too and am continuing to eat them as long as I have prepared them, I know they are ok. Have felt little kicks too, not everyday though, but especially when I am hungry. Have no real cravings yet, with ds had bacon and tomatoe sandwiches every morning before work and this time I cannot bear to smell bacon cooking! Yuk yuk yuk!!!!! Have swollen football on my tum now, I have expanded in the last week or so am 17weeks and four days. Take care everyoneXX

UKcanuck · 25/09/2003 14:14

I'm on a cheese blitz, myself - no cheese in the house is safe. Just finished a toasted cheese sandwich with tomato for lunch... mmmmmmm!

I am 15 weeks + 6 days now and today had my amniocentesis. Very stressful waiting for my turn and while it happened, so once it was over I couldn't stop crying! Hormones + relief it was over, I guess... though it's NOT over because now the waiting starts both for results and to be sure that it's not one of the 1% that go wrong. Cross all your fingers (any that you're not using to eat all your potato dishes) for me!

Tillysmummy - I'm just outside Amersham-on-the-Hill, where the tube station is. Whereabouts in Northwood are you?

chatee · 25/09/2003 17:17

hi all,
i'm 16+6 today and have heard the heartbeat again at my midwifes appointment....keep feeling the odd little pings now and again, definetly got a tum now and even one of the mum's that i don't really know from nursery asked me today if i was expecting....bless-good job i just hadn't put weight on really!
dh is cooking some nice lamb steaks(at least it smells nice at the moment)so i'm banished to another room so that i can hopefully enjoy the meal
hope everyone is feeling well lol

UKcanuck · 29/09/2003 18:35

Seems to be getting a bit quiet in here - where is everybody and more importantly, how is everybody? I'm 16+3 today and heard the heartbeat today at the midwife's appointment - such a relief after having had the amnio last week and being worried since that mine would be in the 1% that miscarries - but all (so far) seems well. Now just the wait for the amnio results, but those should be available tomorrow....

moosh · 30/09/2003 18:03

Glad to hear that all is ok ukcanuck. I think it gets quiet here because sometimes there is not much to post if everything is running smoothly with pregnancy. It gets busy when people have scans e.t.c. I am 18 weeks 4 days and am feeling really sick yesterday and today, I thought it had finally disappeared, but it was not to be.
Haven't felt much movement at all and have to wait till 20 week scan in 2 weeks, but I am positive everything is fine. My trousers really do not fit anymore so I will have to dig out my old maternity trousers from first pg and if they look old fashioned I will have to buy new ones from work. Anyway, hope all is well with everyone.

LEWEI · 04/10/2003 21:36

Hi all, good to hear you are all ok. Double test all clear going for the 19wk scan on tues. will keep you all posted

morocco · 07/10/2003 13:34

hello everyone
no real news - well not baby related anyway! I got my promotion at work but am already trying to work out my maternity dates and when to start etc. Real commitment to the job there then!
were the results OK ukcanuck?
I'm not having the extra tests - just had the nuchal as I was having the scan anyway so less worries right now on that score but I'm already starting to fret about the anomoly scan in 3 weeks time -always something to worry about, it seems.
I now look about 6 months pregnant and have a real fear of being the largest pregnant woman ever once I hit 9 months.
and I have no appetite at all - anyone else like that? very strange.

happy1 · 07/10/2003 15:01

I too haven't had much of an appetite, but first time round I was starving, so I'm thinking it may be a girl this time as first one was boy! thats what I'm hoping anyway!! I will find out in 4 weeks at my next scan, unless the baby's legs are crossed! Hope everyone is blooming!

catkin · 07/10/2003 16:47

Hi everyone, Hope you are all well. I have just had my midwife appointment and have heard baby's heartbeat for the first time which was amazing. Have now reached 16 weeks and am counting down to the 20 week scan - I can't wait to see the little one wriggling around on screen again

UKcanuck · 07/10/2003 22:01

Hi everyone, yes all is well here. Amnio test was negative on everything thank goodness and baby is squirming away in there so seems untroubled by the experience. A lot of stress to go through, though, and I'm not sure if I would do it again but am glad (now that everything's OK) that I did it - if that makes some kind of sense. I am feeling rather fat and unattractive - was eating constantly for the first 12 weeks due to morning sickness and now am not showing exactly but just looking like I should get to the gym! Haven't told anyone about the baby yet so I'm sure they are just thinking I'm letting myself go! Take care everyone, and congratulations on your promotion morocco! Hopefully it means more money to finance your mat leave!

Tillysmummy · 10/10/2003 10:47

Hi all, been a while since I posted here. Been so busy with work. How is everyone today ?

moosh · 12/10/2003 11:12

Not too bad TM have another stinking cold which is the second in a month!!!! Everytime ds gets one, I get it too, but twice as bad and am on 4 liquid paracetamol, honey and lemon too. Baby moving loads now and I suffered from terrible chest pains a few noghts ago, so much so that I was in tears from 2.30a.m.till 5.45a.m. when the pain finally went. I went to the docs the next day who took my blood pressure which was the same as a 20year olds and listened to babe's heart beat which was loud strong and strong. So I was relieved. He said the pains could be due to anxiety and stress because I am doing alot in my life and with the combination of little sleep it doesn't help at all. But am enjoying the pregnancy other than the little hiccups and have my 20 week scan on Monday and will find out what it is (mainly for ds really). Will post Monday once I know. Take care all X

Tillysmummy · 12/10/2003 11:28

Oh Moosh sorry you haven't been well. You poor thing. It's so hard isn't it being tired with another one. I have felt really tired with dd especially as she's been waking at the crack of dawn every morning but luckily haven't been ill. Sorry you are
Oh do let us know what it is. I don't think we can find out now coz our hospital won't say. Think I'll wait and see. Am v curious though !

morocco · 12/10/2003 18:49

sorry to hear you feel sick moose - it's v unfair! I missed the last cold going round (fingers crossed) much to my amazement as I remember last time getting really sick with everything. Our immune systems are supposed to be lowered aren't they?
I've not been sleeping well at all - but again it was the same last time round - getting really advance practice in for the newborn I suppose. Yesterday I told my boss by email that I was pregnant and then left work really quickly before he could track me down - what a coward! But it's a relief to have announced it at last anyway - the size I was getting I'm sure everyone must have guessed anyway.
The baby feels really heavy all of a sudden and sometimes seems to lie 'facing out' if you know what I mean, so I get lots of pressure on my lower stomach. It's kind of nice to feel her moving around though (today I'm convinced it's a girl!)
Why don't your hospital tell the sex Tillysmummy? Sounds a bit silly to me. Did you know last time round?
How's everyone else doing? Is the heartburn any better lewei? And spikeycat - is all OK with you? how was the nuchal scan - a while back now it seems?
No other news but we did have a lovely day out at the zoo today!

chatee · 12/10/2003 19:35

hi all,
well i'm off for my 20 week scan on wednesday and hopefully will be able to find out what baba is(i really didn't want to know but dh is desperate and the consultant said as long as i agreed she would tell him whilst i was out the room)but i can't put up with him tormenting me for the next 4 months so i am now happy to know, especially as we still can't agree on a boys name.Feeling a lot better now, still quite a bit of feeling sick but luckily not actually being sick..energy levels coming back but have had a rotten cold for the last week(thanks to dh)
hope to chat in the week...good luck eveyone

moosh · 13/10/2003 17:05

Had 20 week scan today and as far as they can tell, it is a boy and everything is healthy and developing well. I am quite glad really because we have tons of good quality baby clothes that ds1 hardly ever wore so it is handy. Now we have to agree on a name we are so opposite that I know it will take absolutely ages!!
Our great news has been clouded a littkle, because I had to rush home from work extra early to ds1 screaming with an ear infection (poor mite). He is lying down watching toy story and he looks so pitiful. Hope everyone is doing good, hopefully when I post next I would have shaken off this nasty cold.XX

chatee · 15/10/2003 20:59

well, i had my scan today and everything is fine and at the mo baby is head down.dd was breech from week 15 and did not move.i'm so excited as we found out the sex, just got to try and find a name now and boy are we struggling..
hope everyone else is well...tonight i'm on a real high
lol

LEWEI · 15/10/2003 22:32

Hi everyone, had my 19wk scan last week and all is well, we couldn't see the sex because little one clamped his/her thighs shut. Never mind we are just delighted that all is well so far.
Hope you are all well

morocco · 16/10/2003 18:33

congrats everyone - it's all so exciting! my scan isn't for weeks yet - suspense. It's getting more and more 'real' if you see what I mean, baby is kicking a lot at night now and feels quite strong already, and sometimes moves into really uncomfy positions like a few days ago when I could hardly breath - must have been under the rib cage. Maybe it's my faulty memory but I don't remember that 'squished' feeling happening until much later last time. Perhaps I'm growing a sumo wrestler
love to all

spikeycat · 21/10/2003 08:39

hi everyone, haven't been on for a while as I moved house, but I have lost my notes (with my precisou scan pictures) - has anyone else done this before? I need to take something to my 20 wk scan next wk surely?

happy1 · 27/10/2003 16:30

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Its only 9 days until my next scan and I'm so excited!! The baby is such a wriggler, it never stops! Have developed an addiction to twixes, which is not a good thing as with my first pregnancy I wanted mars bars all the time, and I put on 3 stone! Although I'm 20 weeks now and I've not yet put on a stone, whats normal by week 20 does any one know? Love to all xx

moosh · 28/10/2003 15:41

Not sure happy1. I have just put on a stone now am 22 weeks. Feel heavier though. With ds1 I put on 3 stone, but lost it really quickly. I am definately showing earlier I am quite rounded now and my face has taken on that "rounded pregnancy look!". I am feeling a little better although my food keeps really repeating on me which is unpleasant. Have had my 22 week check up at docs and all was fine. Hope everyone else is doing well and growing swell!!!
Take care x
