Poor you, Wiltshire. Must be really cr*p. Hopefully the little Wiltshire makes it worthwhile???

I'm feeling really down at the moment, too. Kindof tying myself up in anxious knots. I want to do this a little less with every passing hour. My husband helpfully keeps pointing out to me that it is too late now. I wish it was over and done with - I have become obsessive about it and have trouble doing anything except thinking (worrying) about giving birth. And second guessing all the decisions I have made during my pregnancy. And feeling like sh*t - I have had bad bowels for the past 10 days - clenchingly painful - and feel nauseous all the time. I wish it was all over....

Oh dear a few of us are feeling crap... me too... but at least I know when things will happen...elective c sec on 17th. Only a week to go. But do feel down, dont know why... and we just sold our house so i should be happy as we've found a nice one to buy too. Spose its hormones. back pain is severe and baby is engaged which gives me pelvic pain, have had period style cramps for a couple of weeks and 'that' sort of back pain, contractions etc. sholdnt moan... I'm nearly there... but starting to worry about the c section and the recovery etc.....and I'm really tired!!!! moan moan moan!!!! I'll shut up now.

Last couple of weeks of pg are really crappy. Congrats to everyone who's already done it!!

I've only got 13 days left to go but I can't wait ( trying not to think of the pain thing). I really feel like i've got a big fake belly on, it's nothing like the previous times. Doesn't help with with DH laughing everytime he sees me sideways ( git)!! Fed up with doing contortions everytime I get in the car/put my knickers on/do my shoes up. HOWEVER she can't come until after the 19th 'cos I've got tickets for the Baby Show and I really really want to go. I want my freebies and my massage!!

Well, baby is going to have to get it's skates on if it is planning to arrive on its due date. I somehow suspect that it is not going to.

Just as well now, actually, because my son has a school trip tomorrow which he is very upset about (crying and saying he doesn't want to go) and so long as nothing has happened by then I will go with him - he has Asperger's and finds stuff like this quite stressful, and since it is a VERY local trip (walking distance) hopefully it will be OK!

Hello all

First post. 2nd pregnancy, EDD 26 October. DS 2.5years old. really feeling the strain of this preg, 1st one was a breeze in comparison.
hoping for vbac though scared out of my mind at the very idea?! feel very unprepared as 1st one was emerg c-sec & i didnt experience 'labour' at all.
any tips anyone? just read something on rasp leaf tea tabs - do they work? where do u get them? what else can i take

Spod · 13/10/2003 16:55

Hi Yum.... I'm nervous too.. in for a c section this friday so I'm despereately hoping that baby doesnt come sooner and am avoiding anything that could bring labour on... like you i have no idea what its like as this is my first! I started taking arnica today... lots of people here have reccommended it for healing properties. Am getting nervous as I hate hospitals and not overly keen on being told what to do my medics! just cant wait until I'm home safe with baby! Hope you're keeping well

yum · 13/10/2003 17:17

hi spod
why r u having a c/s?
this your first preg?

Spod · 13/10/2003 21:19

c-section is because of long standing spinal problem - natural birth likely to cause more damage... not worth the risk. It is my first pregnancy... its not been too bad other than the increased back pain... just the usual sickness and tiredness etc. Am relieved that I'm at the end, can't wait to re start my back rehab and get fit again... swimming and walking have been too difficult whilst preggers... be nice to float in the pool again. How about you... hows the last 9 months been?

yum · 15/10/2003 11:16

sorry to hear about u're spinal prob.
my c-section, albeit an emerg, went incredibly well with a quick recovery. i hope that it all goes as smoothly for you. you'll be back in that pool before you know it.
my 9 nine months has been very different to the first one (not as pleasant) but no medical probs so i should just be grateful.
goodluck again with the 'birth' i'm sure it'll be a breeze!

Hey Spod!!!!!

Just in case you are too busy getting things ready tomorrow I just wanted to wish you luck for the birth on friday

BTW, I have figured out why you REALLY want to get out of hospital so quick....you'll have mumsnet withdrawl symptoms

See you on the October Babies thread.

Spod · 15/10/2003 18:40

thanx pie!!... I dunno how you all find the time to 'mumsnet' so soon after birth!! I found out that the maternity unit refurbishment is complete and the new unit open on friday - the day I go in.... hopefully that means things will be clean... and Ii'm hoping just chaotic enough so that I can get out asap without too much fuss! What's more likely is that the builders will still be there sweeping up dust and cement and nothing will be ready!! oh god. Am starting to get nervous now.. I hate having surgery and just cant wait till we get home with baby. Spent yesterday having a tantrum fitting the car seat... those things are not designed for people with bad backs!! We went out for a meal last night... very nice asnd will spend 2morrow getting my pre-op chat at the hsopital and assmebling a new spare bed... theres always something to do! I'll let you know what happens when I get home.
