FREAKY Pie, and she actually responded with a kick,.....that's quite something. Must admit I have been curious enough to try having a "fiddle" but as yet haven't worked up the courage
I do know those pains though, stabbing and really uncomfortable. Every time I get them I say this bub is for sure going to punch out my waters.
Emma thinking of you tomorrow, I've not been on much as quite frankly am sick counting the days, and feel as though my life is on stand-by.
Midwife came today to drop off Vit K and reminded me I had till 41+6........if I'm still here then, I'll go insane.
Oh Emma sorry for going on I have 4 days left till EDD, I know you're closer..........Aaaarrrgghhh

Pie, I have fiddled. And all I can say is I couldn't feel enything hard. Sort of spongy. Maybe this means your dilated or sommat.

wiltshire · 20/09/2003 20:00

Anyway must dash as Dh & I are off to the pub. This is our last weekend as Non parents as next Saturday night we will be proud owners of a small person.

wiltshire · 20/09/2003 20:30

I am still sitting here at pc, waiting for DH to get out of the shower. Brrrrrrr. He is a big girly tosser and takes too long to get ready.

ANGELMOTHER · 20/09/2003 21:45

Ok Pie I think Wiltshire might be right, things may be moving for you
I've just had a bath and a "fiddle" and can report nothing other than spongey....
"Heres Hoping for you"

Dare I say it but I'm even contempating (sp?) letting DH investigate, but purely because I hope it might start things off. Blimey he'll probably have a heart attack if I suggest getting frisky.....poor bloke.

AngelM, I know how you feel about being away from here and counting the days. It's a right shit, isn't it.

ANGELMOTHER · 21/09/2003 21:32

Well my Mum arrives tomorrow, and will be staying till Oct 4th so this is officially the last night it will be just the three of us in the house.
Putting dd to bed tonight she can't stop talking about the little sister she's going to have, her excitement is infectious. I've put her in charge of all the baby clothes and she knows where everything is. She's trying to decide what will be her sisters first "ensemble"..........sooooo many pink things to choose from
It's strange knowing there will never be another evening like this (as she types away on Mumsnet), but good also, we'll soon be a family of four.
Bizarrely lately much as I said this would definitely be the last one, we've been talking about more.............just wish dh could have them
Emma did you have a "fiddle" then ? How has your day been, trying not to think about it I presume. Dh actually understood today what I meant about always being asked "When?", he came to Sainsburys with me and cashiers always ask "when are you due then?"........AAAaarrgghhh go away...
As for getting frisky dh reckons that hasn't happened since this child was conceived and that only took one go
Pie any movements yet ????????

Thought sxomethign was happening last night, but turns out it wasn't. Oh well, I haven't got everything ready yet, anyway!

EmmaTMG · 22/09/2003 10:06

Well my EDD has been and gone and as you correctly said AngelM, I spent most of the day trying not to think about it.

Feel abit twingey (is that a real word?) today but that's probably just wishful thinking or my wild imagination. As DS1+2 were both 6 days late I'm not holding out much hope for anything to happen before the weekend.

Got another pineapple in the kitchen waiting for my consumption

wiltshire · 22/09/2003 11:19

Ate 2 small pinapples yesterday one in the afternoon and one at 3am this morning. All I got was the shits. C'est la vie. Had usual sleep quota of about 4 hours. Everyone else the same?

ANGELMOTHER · 22/09/2003 13:06

Ok have started on pineapple, coincidentally buy 1 get 1 free in Sainsburys today, why do I go there everday......My brain can never remember what I need
Come on girls one of us has to move soon.....

Wiltshire - Diahorrea is a sign that labour may start soon
I thought you were going for an elective so why are you trying to kick start labour ????

wiltshire · 22/09/2003 15:56

Same reason as someone who isn't going for an elective. I just want it out and can't wait until Friday. Stupid really, but I am ready now. All packed sorted out at home etc.

EmmaTMG · 22/09/2003 17:13

I'm feeling really shitty at the mo. Haven't got the patience (sp?) for anything so feel guilty about constantly battling with DS1+2. In a nutshell I simply can not be bothered to do anything and seeing that it is dinner time and DH is at work there's not much chance of a quiet night in front of the TV.
Feeling so ready for the baby it's doing my head in......I can't understand how it can still need to be in there, surely it must be 'cooked' by now. I have had some twinges today, as I said earlier, but now I think it's just because I had such a shite nights sleep last night. They're more like aches and pains so it was just wishful thinking this morning.

Sorry about the moaning Girls, I know we're all in the same boat so just tell me to stop whinging.

pupuce · 22/09/2003 17:22

Witshire- so wuld you be happy to start labour then ?

Emma - you're nearly there - it will come out - promise

Ragtaggle · 22/09/2003 17:47

I'm trying to hold my baby in as I'm not exchanging contracts on new house until next Wednesday - eight days before my due date. I am hoping for a home birth so very keen - in particular - not to go into labour on moving day. I take it from other posts that the way to do that is to not eat pineapple, contemplate sex, eat a hot curry or go anywhere near RLT. Any other tips for holding it in? By the way, like everyone else I would love to get the baby out of me now really as am sick to the back teeth of feeling ninety (Virtually immobile, need to sleep every two hours and carrying far too much weight) But because of the move it would be very inconvenient right now so if anyone knows any tips for stalling labour I'd be grateful.

EmmaTMG · 22/09/2003 18:07

Sorry Ragtaggle just thinking about stalling it makes me want to weep.......no help here I'm afraid but my MW told me that if previous babies have been late or early than thats normally rough indication of how thinks will happen again but if I remember correct this is your first so thats not much help either.....sorry

pie · 22/09/2003 18:10

Emma, did you say that your first 2 were 6 days late, then you say that your m/w says thats an indicator, so you probably won't be here that much longer. Hang in there honey!!!!! Sending labour vibes your way

wiltshire · 22/09/2003 18:32

Ragtaggle, eat pineapple, have some rough 'n' tough sex ( I jumpred on my DH after Sat nights pub experience for his prostaglandin, however he was a bit pissed after 4 pints and couldn't do the honours. All of that heaving & grunting for sod all. He didn'come) take raspberry leaf tablets. I promise you it will not make you go into labour.

Emma, I feel the same way. It's must be cooked. And you never know if I go into labour I may have a natural birth. Who cares as long as it's out.

EmmaTMG · 22/09/2003 18:32

Yep, that right pie. 6 days late for both of them and so waiting for saturday when I'll be 6 days overdue.

I'm just sooooooooooooooooooooooo ready now and want to started, not just on the labour but get going with a routine with the baby and DS1+2.
I feel like I'm in limbo, just waiting, waiting, waiting. Just like everyone else so I really do need to stop moaning.

Oakmaiden · 22/09/2003 18:57

Wiltshire - can't remember now, and can't be bothered to read all the way through this thread to find out, but why were you having an elective section again?

pie · 22/09/2003 19:00

Wiltshire, am I right in thinking that you are booked for a c/s because they thought your pelvis is small, but that they didn't examine you or take any scans? As you mention natural (vaginal) is that what you would prefer, I mean do you think they are right about your pelvis. Obviously if you are fine with it all then cool, but I'm just curious

motherinferior · 22/09/2003 20:24

Oh Emma, love, it WILL happen. But I do sympathise.

wiltshire · 22/09/2003 21:37

Small snatch, big baby. Apparently! I have had quite a few scans. But if I did go into labour I don't know if they would do an emergency c/s or not. Anyone else have experience of this. My m/w is 30 years in this area and thinks my obstetrician is a tosser. He loves c/s too much. Frightened of being sued I guess.

Ragtaggle · 23/09/2003 11:23

The line 'small snatch, big baby' has just had me in stitches (Shouldn't use that expression - might be tempting fate) Thanks for cheering me up, wiltshire - no mean feat as I sit here with my legs crossed just willing the baby to hold on until due date so I don't give birth in the back of a removal van. Hang on in there everybody.
