Oh my goodness Greedy, Marcy's back is so bad, I haven't seen anything like it. It must be so upsetting for all of you . Like you said to me last week though, in another week it will all be so much better. Has the doctor given you anything to ease her discomfort?

Sorry the scan wasn't what you hoped it would be babylove... Fingers crossed you get some answers soon. And dont worry about little one responding to DP - the baby hears you all the time so probably enjoys a new deeper tone of voice

honeyapple · 22/07/2008 18:35

great new thread- well done firsty . Good luck with keeping a cheerful face- I know it can be difficult when you dont feel like it. I hope Ty gives you some BIG special justformummy smiles tonight .

finally it appears that we have a completion date- 22nd august- so only a month away. It's good really cos we are on holiday before this so best to get that done first- and then concentrate on the new house.

I havent heard from my friend- have left a couple of messages, but dont want to push her. So I guess I just have to leave it for a while. DP was hoping to meet up with her DH for a drink and a chat- but he hasnt heard anyting either. . Not sure what to do for the best really. I guess they just want to be alone at the moment. Her mum is staying with them- so I know she will be being looked after and her DD will be being taken care of.

right got to bath Dex cos he is covered in banana and biscuits and sick and snot (yum).

greedygreedyguzzler · 22/07/2008 20:27

feel terrible honey, i had forgotten about your friend. and theres me moaning about a few spots. sorry glad you have gto a completion date sorted. i will try not to take it personally that you dont want to meet up (very hard at the moment cos i am a bit of a sleep deprived emotional wreck!) hopefully some other time? or if not, i can take a hint!
dr wasnt too concerned with marcy, well he was, but it was ellis he was more worried about cos he had such a high temp. that seems to have come down now, but marcys has shot up. she has been so ill today it breaks my heart. had my mum helping out today but tomorrow stupid dh is in amsterdam for the day leaving at 5am and not getting back till 10pm so i will be on my own with 2 all day with 2 sick kids and kiki playing up trying to get attention. sorry! im moaning again.

hello mrs! welcome back! boy have you got some catching up to do!

gotta go, too miserable to talk

Chooster · 22/07/2008 21:51

Oh Greeds - you poor bugger... It must be so awful that they are so poorly. And all at the same time too. Everything always seems so much worse as well when you are tired. I really really really hope they get better soon and this is as bad as it gets. Tomorrow will hopefully be a better day.

Good news on the house Honey but so so sorry for your friend. I guess its something you need time to get your head round. I could cry when I think what they must be going through

MrsMcJnr · 22/07/2008 22:25

Hello Chooster how are you? It?s been so long since I even spoke to you! How did Theo?s first birthday and christening go? I was thinking of you all! Yes, we have broadband at home now (though it?s so sloooooooooowwwwww!) it is a god send, I felt so isolated without it! Ian (sorry DH ) is doing a monthly newsletter so once I have your email address from your email; I?ll send that on to you. Things are good though, nice flat, nice location, happy times. Xavier now has two teeth and we just adore him, that sounds blasé but I really mean it. He?s my world. I would post a pic but something?s happened to our USB plug in bits (so technical! ) so I?ll get that fixed and post some ? he is such a mini me of his Daddy!

Hey Firsty how are things with you and how is Ty? Still never come across another Ty! sorry I have missed so much ? how come you can?t pick Ty up hon?

Hey Greedy old chum how are you?? Sorry to hear your kids aren?t well poor you too x

Iamamummy (love that name so much!) how are you and how is Oscar??!! Sorry to hear this month wasn?t your month to get pregnant again DH and I would like another too but I am still breastfeeding and haven?t had an AF yet

Honeyapple hey there!! Where are you moving to? Spain is good thanks I have helped to set up a local Mum and Babies group and we?ve met twice now, the others are lovely but there is quite a range of ages of the kids which makes the park kind of boring for Mums with babies Xavier?s age like me! sorry to hear about your friend

Babylove123 are you who I think you are? how the hell are you??? How exciting that you are 22 weeks! don?t worry about the bump responding more to DP than you, firstly, they hear deeper voices better and secondly, he can get his voice closer to the bump than you can! sorry your scan went that way we had one like that and I felt miserable for days, sending a hug x

honeyapple · 23/07/2008 09:50

Mrs- good to hear all going well. As for TTCing and BFing... well I am still BFing and havent had an AF yet... with my other babies I didnt get an AF until I had stopped BF completely- although I know lots of women that do conceive whilst still BF. Mind You I am NOT TTCing!! However- had a chat with DP the other night- saying basically that I dont have that feeling that I have finished having babies- not that I really really want another one- just dont have that 'closure' that I was hoping to have after Dex! He said he was happy to have more kids depending on work/money etc... Yikes! However he did say if we had any more kids he would get a dog and a Landrover- both of which I DONT want!!

oops Dex has finished his toast and is trying to climb out the high chair- better start strapping him in...

babylove123 · 23/07/2008 09:54

Hey

Am off to see a friend tonight who has an 8 mth old baby so i'll get to unleash some of my mothering feelings onto him, lol!

Firststar - Well done on the new thread! I feel quite priviledged to get the last msg on the old one! How unusual for me! Yeh the scan wasnt good, am going to phone the hospital in 15 mins when its my morning break to speak to the nice lady i had at 20 weeks and blub to her to see if i get anywhere. My sis flew home from New York to see the little one and DP and i couldnt make anything out on the screen because she was moving so fast so i doubt v much she made anything out. She says it was a wonderful experience but i think shes trying to make me feel better - i was v embaressed about it all.

Chooster - the scan was miserable, dont get me wrong, whats important is that i have a happy, healthy baby but it really made me sad and felt quite dis-connected to the baby. Dare i say it, almost annoyed that it didnt have its legs open but i think i was just over-emotional. Bubs really does love DP's voice, although i was singing along to the radio yest and he/she was kicking me so i dont know it that means i have a good or bad voice!

Honeyapple - well done on a completion date! Sorry you havent heard from your friend, as you say, maybe they're just enjoying some quality family time at the moment. Im sure she'll be ringing you soon for a good natter.

Greedy - sorry your kids are so poorly, no wonder you're miserable - i would be! It is good to get it done though when they're young because the chances are they wont remember it. Keep slapping the lotions and potions on!

Mrsmc- im bloody good thanks, you?! Cant believe we talk again after so long! I always remember you because every month when we'd all post that it wasnt our time, you'd cheer us up! Finally we all get to be happy! So glad to hear you're enjoying spain - a brave move! The lifestyle out there is so different to hear, much more relaxed. Yeh baby really seems to love DP's voice, its good though because when he/she is a bit quite i get him to shove his face in my belly and talk to it, lol. Wish me luck on sorting my scan out this morning. Am really nervous about phoning but i've decided that you dont get anything if you dont push and i only have 1 chance!

Speak to you later.

DD1ofcolandgerry · 23/07/2008 12:18

Hello everyone,

its been such a long time since Ive posted that, that you probably wont know who I am, but I was on the ttc threads with you all. My little man is one in a couple of weeks, and yikes , but I got another bfp a while back, and am expecting number 2 in Feb!!!!!! I cant believe it as DS took so long to arrive, and I was on clomid, so I thought no 2 would be the same senario. However the bfp arrived as a total shock with no clomid. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi to everyone, and post my great news!!!!

Wow - fab news DD1!! What a lovely surprise for you...

Looks like this thread had better stay well and truly in the Pregnancy topic for a while longer yet then, with all this talk of more babies!

MrsMc - wonderful to have you back! So thrilled everything has worked out for you in Spain and that Xavier is making you so happy. Good luck for TTCing!

Firsty - so sorry to hear you so down about Ty. it is very hard when they show a preference. I definitely notice that Isla is much more screamy and demanding when she's with me than when she is with DP, but I think Chooster is right, try and get some time with him on your own - and go and do something together so you're away from your usual environment of home where there's chores to be done etc. When i went to stay with my friend in Surrey the other week with just Isla it was so lovley just to spend the time playing with her etc. Not saying you need to go away for a whole weekend or anything, but just a day out on your own with him could make all the difference.

Greedy - gaaaah - poor little marcy! And poor you with 2 really poorly kids to look after and no DH and the summer holidays. Bet you're getting through the Calpol at the mo! Wishing them both a speedy recovery xx

Honeyapple - great news you have a date to move! That all seems to have happened so quickly! Sounds like another little Honeypip will be on the cards eventually

Hi everyone else... lovely to have a nice new thread for all these exciting times ahead of us!

Bodkin · 23/07/2008 12:53

crossed with you Firsty! Glad Ty has been more smiley for you today. And yes, I have heard of B vitamins improving your mood - I remember taking them when I was a bit low and stressed while at uni and I felt they really helped (not sure if placebo or not, but whatever, i felt better!)

Hey ladies ? I keep seeing bumps everywhere, oh dear! my little guy is such a joy, I?ve had a lovely day with him and my Mum

Honeyapple ? it?s a real tug between trying to give up BFing and let my body get back to normal and continuing to feed DS ? sounds like you might now be done yet!

Babylove123 ? thanks for the compliment, it was hard to stay positive during those months of waiting wasn?t it? hope you got somewhere re the scan, better to let those feelings out even if you don?t get anywhere than let them stew I had lots of anger attacks when pregnant (quite funny really! )

DD1 I remember you hon, of course I do!! congratulations hon, that is fabulous news, send some baby dust this way will you!?

Firsty ? sorry to hear you are feeling a bit lo, of course I have no experience, but I have seen with my sister?s boys how she and her DH seem to take it in turns to be in favour, chin up hon xx

Bodders ? great to ?see? you, I was wondering last night where you were! how are things?

p.s. you and Firsty are bonkers!

Chooster · 24/07/2008 10:50

How did it go with about the scan babylove? Hope you got somewhere, but as MrsMc says, even if you only got to complain then at least you'll have got it out of your system. Am sure your sis really did enjoy it even if it was hard to make things out. She would have loved seeing you all glowing and pregnant as well anyway . So we still dont know if babylove junior is a he or a she? He / She is obviously building up for a big surprise.

Wow, so perhaps another Honeyapple on the cards eh!!! It must have been a bit scary when SP gave the green light to another one . Kind of then makes you think seriously about wanting another... So, in another year or two we could have another MrsMc, another Honeypip (love it Bodders), another Greedy one and I'm sure Iamamummy and babylove will do the honours and provide us with more bumps . What about you Bodders, now the memories of the first 9 months are fading, so you think you are swaying or still definately not wanting to do it again? I am really happy with my two but I do get a small bit of that "I'm not finished yet" feeling that Honey has described when I'm around people who are pregnant. Speaking of which got some great news from my cousin last night - She is the one who had IVF to have her DS last year and she is 7 weeks pregnant again, this time naturally . I have heard that sometimes pregnancy / childbirth can kick start your body and its definately the case for her, and you by the sounds of things DD1!!!! Congratualtions - thats fantastic news

Very pleased that Ty is being a bit more settled with you Firsty. Great advice from Honey about remaining happy and positive around him even if he does reach out for DH. I've really noticed that if DH battles to be with DS1 when he wants me, then DS1 just fights harder. But if DS1 tells his daddy to go away, and DH happily says "OK then" and gives him a kiss and wanders off, DS1 is soon trying to be with him. DS1 is obviously a lot older but if you show it doesn't bother you then he'll come round quicker.

Great to hear that you are having some fun days with DS and your mum MrsMc! Sounds idyllic... Actually have sent you a big lobg e-mail and now can't find your e-mail address. I kept Theo's B'day card from you in a special place as it was in there, but its such a special place that I can't remember. Anyway, I know the first bit just need the .xxx.com or whatever bit. If you dont want to pop that bit on here you could cat me I guess? In there I've updated you on Theo's christening so I dont bore the ladies on here again...

How are the kids Greedy???

By the way, my DH has started to call Theo Ted, which I'm not sure if I think is cute or awful . Its starting to grow on me though and I've said it myself a few times...

Chooster · 24/07/2008 10:53

Hey,

Anyone else think it is far too hot to be at work today?! They say your body temp goes up when you're preg - think mines an extra 10 degrees, i sweat buckets! I was in bed last night with windows wide open, no duvet and still i was too hot! DP thinks im weird, lol.

DD1 - Well done on the BFP! Great news! I wish you a wonderful and happy pregnancy!

Firststar - I am glad you had a better day yesterday, those days make it all worthwhile. Things will get better and better, honest No my sis doesnt live in NY (i wish - free hols!), she was travelling and finished to come home to see the scan. Hehe at your baby liking Elvis songs! We went to see Mamma Mia at the cinema and baby loved Dancing Queen (it better be a girl if it likes that!) Twinkle twinkle is the fav at the moment, its on the cot mobile we bought and when i press play, he/she starts dancing away! Its funny, lol. The scan issues are still going on - its now gone to the head of the hospital. I have some news but i really cant say until i've taken this as far as i want/need to because it might jeopardise the outcome if someone was to see it on here (you never know who these mn's are!) Keep being positive and you'll come through the otherside Oh and btw - im sad, i know the horse drinking tea was a nutrigrain advert

Mrsmc - So glad you're happy! Its great to hear good news! You never kno, you might conceive child 2 really easily - thats always the way! Yes it was hard trying to be positive back in those hard times wasnt it? We always knew there would be a light at the end of the tunnel but sometimes it was just too faint to notice. Oh yes, i dont think for 1 moment i'll get any where with the hospital over my scan, as they say "medically they performed what they're required to do", the fact that they didnt provide a service to the mum is neither here nor there. I feel proud of myself for making a scene though, i wouldnt want other mums coming out feeling the way i did - distraught and completely disconnected with their child.

Right, must get on. TTYL
