honeyapple, is it the C4 picasso 7 seater you have? We are umming and arring over one.

rainbowdays · 11/08/2008 20:37

Hi all, sorry I have been away from here for a while, really busy enjoying doing nothing but being mum and housewife most of the time! Jak is growing chubbier by the day, at just 4 months he is already in 6 to 9 month clothes. His big bro and sis love him to bits, and love taking his toys to play with leaving him staring at them!!!!

I am broody as heck, but dh is currently in his not yet mode, I keep pointing out that not yet will soon turn to never at my age, but he is taking some convincing. But then it took quite some convincing to persuade him that number 3 child was a good idea, now he insists that he never had any objections!!!!!

I hope you will forgive my lack of communications at the moment, perhaps when my big boy starts school in 3 weeks time I might get here more often?????

honeyapple · 11/08/2008 22:47

scorpio- yup it is the c4 picasso- it is lovely- not discovered any problems (yet).

Hi rainbow- blimey so you really are serious about number 4???

Bodkin · 12/08/2008 12:00

Hi everyone...mad busy here at the moment with back-to-back guests for the past 2 weeks, and the current lot are here until Friday. I am soooooooooooo pissed off with houseguests! Can't complain today though as SIL has taken Nelly off my hands along with her two kids, so just Isla to look after (who is poorly so keeps falling asleep on me....mmmm delish, i love it when they do that!)

Congrats City - hope things are improving...tis a long hard slog in the early weeks.

Rainbow - can't believe you are broody for No 4! Your kids must be angels!

Honeyapple - wot a star your DP is, buying a car for you like that! We have a Picasso too (a Xsara) it must be the car to have on this thread!

Chooster - so theos walking now is he! Isla is unbelievable - she's virtually running now... we get the strangest looks in teh park - she's still tiny, looks like an 8 month old but walks everywhere, climbs up the slide... etc!

Hi Fettle - sorry to hear you're missing DH - 8 weeks summer hols is a long time isn't it. Not long now

Hi everyone else, rubbish summer we're having so far eh?

Can I ask a nosey question - how many of you have a cleaner? I'm seriuosly considering getting one, because I am really struggling to keep on top of it all, what with doing DPs accounts, my work and looking after the 2 nippers. What does a cleaner charge, roughly... and how many hours do you have them a week? Sorry, just got no idea about these things as have never had one before!

babylove123 · 12/08/2008 12:13

Hi Everyone,

Firststar - yeh i am over my bad day now - oh it was awful! I sobbed my eyes out for probably 4 hours that day. Was thinking about loads of sad stuff too - strange.

Honey - welcome back! Glad you had a nice holiday! Oooooh a new car - lucky you! I have a saloon car and altho the boot is massive, because it is a saloon, you're restricted to the size of things that you can get in. The pram will fit though so thats what matters! Hmn, we chose Katelin because we like the name "kate"....she'll get shortened to that pretty instantly. We didnt want to call her Catherine though. Hehe at your kids changing their name - when i was younger and was playing "mummys and daddys" etc i always wanted to be called Sharon! Strange child!

Rainbow - Wow, Jack is growing isnt he! You're serious about number 4? Whats the secret! Im finding it hard enough being pregnant with number 1!

Bodkin - wow, you have been busy! Hope you get a chance to put your feet up soon! As for the cleaner, i dont have one but my mum did when i lived at home. There was 4 of us in the house and it was a 3 bed house, 2 bathrooms etc. She came once a week for 2 hours and did the dusting, hoovering, cleaned the bathrooms etc. Charges depend on where you live but its usually around £8 - £10 an hour.......also depends on if you hire someone "cash in hand" or an agency etc. Nothing wrong with hiring one, doesnt mean you cant cope with running a house - just means you have better things to do than slinging the marigolds on! Who came blame anyone for that?!

Right, lunchtime - Ooooh! Cant say my diet has been fantastic, i have the odd day where i eat for 2! I lost 27lbs when i had hyperemesis and that was week 14. Im now week 26 and have put 12lbs on. Am quite happy with that because i went from eating nothing to eating normally so i was bound to put at least 4/5lbs back on from that so to only put 7lb in pregnancy weight on i think is pretty damn good!!!!! What do you think?!

hi ladies

babylove - sorry you had a rough day thats what pregnancy hormones do for you! i was super sensitive whilst pg and tbh i dont really think the hormones have supressed back down to pre pg levels.

honey - wow lucky you on the new car! we are looking into getting a bigger car but cant find a 7 seater with an adequate sized boot. i currently have a golf but if we had another baby - 2 car seats in the back no room for passengers.

bodkin- sounds like you have been busy! i could do with a seaside break and as you have a fully fledged b+b can i come and stay too?! with regards to a cleaner my SIL is one and earns a wedge! she is on about £15 per hour.

rainbow-so excited about you trying for number 4 in the near future - will that be your lot then?

firsty - whats the update on the swimming lessons? we have a month to go until oscar starts his and im desperately trying to shed some weight so i look human when entering the pool.

did anyone on here get really bad stretchamrks whilst pregnant? i did all over my stomach and inner thighs but since not being pregnant they seem to be getting worse - and more i have developed on the top of my thighs?! i just dont know what to do they are hideous and im getting so insecure and paranoid about them now cos i just look awful. now we have started swimming too imdreading the moment where the towel comes off and getting in the pool. any suggestions?

thanks firsty - i am using bio oil now i think there is a slight difference. lol @ the preening thanks for the reminder i usually forget too

greedygreedyguzzler · 12/08/2008 15:38

chooster - hate to tell you, but its SO much worse when they are old enough to understand whats happening with the jabs! i had to literally pin ellis down as he started screaming the moment we got to the docs! kiki wasnt quite as bad though!...how old is max again, i thought he was older than kiki so would have already had it done, but you do stuff weird in scotland dont you! we are off to centerparcs in holland but not till october. you do seem to spend half your life there dont you!?

glad your holiday was fab honey and glad your dp was such a star with the new car.....hey!.....new car....new house....what else could a girl want?! and you are right i am a VERY wise lady!!

bodders - i am sure you must be a bit evil enjoying islas illness just so she can fall asleep on you!!..............are you sure you havent fed her up on piriton or medised just so you can have a cuddle? ok, so even though you are evil i will share my 'cleaner knowledge' with you. i have one, she does 2 hours a week so she hoovers everywhere, washes the floors downstairs, does the bathroom, downstairs toilet and ensuite (which is finally functioning after our extension last year!!) and the kitchen. she charges £10/an hour but my last one charged £8/ an hour. it is the best thing i have EVER spent my money on and i couldn't do without her now......................go on, get one! it is REALLY worth it!

iamamummy - dont worry about stripping off at the swimming lessons, dont forget all the other women have had babies too and most will look a bit saggy and stretchy!! only the odd few (like honeyapple and bodders i reckon!) get away with being pg and still staying slim and trim!

RIGHT THEN, is it weird that i have just had a 72 year old patient who has been discussing her sex life with me in detail?!! think i handled it pretty well actually and i am considering a job as a sex therapist..........what do you think?

Chooster · 12/08/2008 16:33

Aaargh, just read it all to catch up and have forgotten most of what I was going to say!.

Firsty - the booster is just one injection so not too bad - Theo has been great since it happened so no ill effects here. In fact he's been on excellent form recently which is so much fun .

Yup you're right am sure we do things a bit funny up here Greedy! Max is 4 adn he needs this booster before he goes to school so anytime in the next year. I dont know how he will be about it .

Wow, so number 4 is well and truly on the cards for you then rainbow - I reckon if a DP / DH is 'not sure' then that means you've definately won the battle and it will only be a short period of time before he thinks it was his idea in the first place . Are you going to post any pics of Jak?? Glad your other two love having him there - that must make you more positive about another one.

Oooh, I'd love a cleaner Bodders. DH agrees as well but we've just not got round to trying to find someone, but a friend of mine who lives round the corner has someone now who she says is good and reliable. I think we may go for it as well...

Glad you are in better form now babylove! Hormones are crazy things . Just wait until just after the birth - they go into over-drive! At least mine did

Right better go as am heading home from work soon but its pissing down with rain. ggrrr, where has our summer gone .

Congrats on the car Honey!!! What a fab DP!! . Feel quite left out now not having a picasso...

Chooster · 12/08/2008 16:35

So what sort of thing was the 72 year old into then Greedy??? I reckon you'd make a great sex therapist although I think your answer to any problems would be "just have more sex!"

greedygreedyguzzler · 12/08/2008 19:44

funny you should say that chooster cos that is kind of what i ended up saying to her!!! (in a very diplomatic chiropractory sort of way!).........................so when she doesn't make her next appointment cos she is in hospital recovering from a heart attack i will probably feel a bit bad!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 12/08/2008 19:46

dont you think its lovely to think that we could all still be having sex into our 70s?! i hope so!

greedygreedyguzzler · 12/08/2008 19:49

OH MY GOD!!! its pissing it down here and i am at work still and will have to walk home after my next patient!!! i really hope it stops!!! AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH thunder now too!!! and i havent got a coat!!! what a knob hey coming out without a coat! for some reason i thought it was summer!!!

babylove123 · 13/08/2008 11:19

Hey Everyone,

What strange weather this is! One minute its chucking it down, the next it is sunny! Freaky!

Firststar - Oh, im well aware that my weight cld still spiral out of control but i am just so pleased with it so far. Im one of these ppl who can lick some chocolate and add 5lbs! I put weight on SO easily! i dont think 7/8lbs is too bad, im still on track for the "books target" - how unusual for me!

Iam - Hmn, my rough day was one of these ones. Its strange for me, i never really suffered with hormones before getting pregnant - a lot of women in my family suffer when their AF is due etc but i never had the problem - till now! I am concerned that they wont go down after i've given birth........Dont worry about the stretchmarks! I have got thunderous thighs and i cant bring myself to go swimming either! I got myself a new costume a few weeks ago but cant bring myself to go. I have a big bump so arent concious of my stomach but my flabby arms and thighs cant be put down to the baby! I figure i just gotta get on with it, once im in the water i expect i'll be fine. Have a go! (needing to take some of my own advice here!) Hehe at firststars pruning reminder - it is something we all forget from time to time!

Greedy - Hehe at your patient discussing her sex life - i expect even though shes in her 70's - hers is better than mine! Did you make it home ok in the rain?!

Chooster - I do that, i read and catch up then forget so i sorted myself out - i log on with a notepad in my hand! Then i write down everyones news and read back through it when im typing! See - not just a pretty face, lol. Hmn, not sure im looking forward to these crazy hormones! I am currently having the "now i dont need this so im going to throw/sell it.....but what if....." Its stuff i havent used in yrs and know i will NEVER use again but still, i cant do it!

Cubs swimsuit and hat/mitten set turned up this morning - oh its so cute! Im sat here staring at it, i just wanna see her in it now!!!!

fettle · 13/08/2008 19:46

Hey all - caught up briefly this morning and can't remember anything I read, except Greedy's sex chat with her 70year old!!! Only you, Greeds!

This weather is crap isn't it? Can't believe that the only week I've had away in the hot sunshine was the only week of good weather all holiday! I'm preparing to drown on our trip through the Lakes to Scotland! All I'm hearing about is flooded houses and roads and landslides in Scotland! Hope my Mum's house is ok - should ring her really, shouldn't I?!!

Right - Toby just had a mammoth hour long feed, so have to go cook supper now!

How's the box packing going Honey?! Hope all smoothly or are you getting removers in to do it all? Don't envy you - just realised that it is a year today that we moved into this house - so much has happened in these last 12 months! Thankfully we're unlikely to moving again for a nother year - never stayed so long in one house since I left home to go to university!

I'm officially a SAHM now, by the way! Last day was today! Still sad as I loved my job this time a year ago, but so pleased I'm going to have some good times with Toby as he is just so utterly gorgeous!

Right really must go now!!

fettle · 15/08/2008 19:50

where are you all? It is too wet to be out enjoying yourselves!!!

Going to re-read my last message and see what I said that has scared you all off!

Only 2 sleeps until our holiday - it has to stop raining by then!! Although it has actually been quite nice today! Off to bring the washing in!!

Bit tiddly - just finished drinking bottle of champagne that work sent with some flowers to say thank you and show appreciation for all my hard work!!! Bit late now - why couldn't he say it to my face!!! But I'm loving my children, so so not not regretting going back full-time just yet!!!

Hope to speak to someone before I go away!!

Take care all.

Chooster · 15/08/2008 20:15

HI SAHM!!! It must feel nice that its all out the way now! And goods that you were sent some goodies from your work - I think you well deserve it, and more.

So when do you head up to out neck of the woods? Must be next day or two. Its actually been really nice up here today. In fact we've had great day here. A friend and her kids visited this am and then me adn max had a trip to teh chinese state circus which is on over hte festival. It was brilliant . They make all the acrobatics look so easy The we hit the fun fair and had a ball . It was nice to spend some good time with my big boy . And Dh and I have managed to get some good festival stuff in too - seen some good comedy shows and want to do more next week. Are you going to get a chance to see anything fettle??

So how is everyone else! hope you didn;t get too drenched Greedy.

Off to make some food now....

fettle · 15/08/2008 20:57

Hi Chooster - we drive up to the Lakes on Monday for a few days, then head up home next Thursday or Friday - staying until middle of the following week.

Don't think we'll manage anything of the festival, only home for 5-6 days now, rather than the 2 weeks we originally planned - but hoping to make it to the zoo one day, but unless we go at the weekend, Tuesday will be the only day I can see us going. Not sure if you are planning on going any day?

Got a mountain of things to do before we go, as we are back the day before DD starts school. think I've bought all her uniform, but still have to name it all! Is it very cheeky to take it with me and get my Mum to help me?!

sleep well all.
xxx

Bodkin · 15/08/2008 23:24

Fettle - have a good trip... you have put me to shame with having your DDs uniform all sorted. That is on my to-do list for next week....

Chooster - it's nice to have a bit of time with DC1 on their own isn't it. I forget how easy Nelly is when I haven't got Isla to look after as well. Mind you, Isla is a doddle to look after when I haven't got Nelly.... it's like that book "a squash and a squeeze" iykwim!

I have spent the evening crawling around on the shed roof, re-felting it. While DP has gone camping with DD1 and SIL and her kids... Still, nice to do a job that might actually stay done for longer than 3 hours!

SIL off tomorrow, then that is us done for guests for a while PHEEEEEEWWWWWW!

Just going to put a recent piccy of Isla up now....

fettle · 16/08/2008 08:44

Bodders if you are guest free can we come and stay with you next week then?!! That sunshine in your photo looks very inviting!!!

And Isla looks gorgeous - should try and find a recent one of Toby.

Toby just climbed onto his trike by himself!!! DD assures us she didn't help him, but I can't believe he did it himself!

Got to go!

rainbowdays · 16/08/2008 10:17

Well lovely ladies need your help here. Having lost weight after Jak was born, I am now putting back on again. I can't fit my normal clothes so slouching in my pregancy trousers again as I had never put them away. I know it is because I am eating so badly and not getting enough exercise, but I need to get motivated to do something about it, I need all your tips on how you got yourselves to your lovely bikini selves again post preg!

Bodkin - of course my 3dc's are all little angels all the time !!!!!! , well actually I want no. 4 as I always wanted 4 children. Sorry I can't help you with the cleaner question, it is a luxury that I would love to indulge in sometime!

Babylove - there is no secret to be wanting no4, I hated being pg with two of the pregnancies, had a rough time and wished I hadn't done it, but I am gluten for punishment, since I love the baby stage that my Jak is at now, and I am adoring seeing my other two growup too. So I am willing to go through another rotten pregnancy, to get the end product, but then that will be it then, no more for me.

Fettle - congrats on becoming an official SAHM! Hope you get some better weather when you get to the lakes?

Greedy - did you get drowned on the way home, you have not come back here to tell us what a drowned rat you were when you got home

Big wave to everyone else, got to go feed Jak again....

scorpio1 · 16/08/2008 10:20

Rainbowdays - i have just started a diet i got a wii fit, its so much fun, you dont even have to leave the house to go to the gym

also i have low fat versions of things, and havent had chocolate for 10 days

greedygreedyguzzler · 16/08/2008 22:11

hello all!

i have had a really busy week, hence not being on here much. i can tbelieve how quickly the hols are going and you talking about school uniform has made me feel bad fettle. forgot all about putting names in...........how boring! i hate doing that kind of thing.

had a very eventful and scary day on wednesday. me, ellis and kiki were on our way to see the 'milkshake live tour' when we were involved in a car accident. when i say involved i dont mean directly.I saw what i thought was a binbag fly up into the air and then land about 20ft infront of our car, but it wasnt binbag it was a person. it was all so scary and so so gory. i think this old woman must have just stepped off the curb and got hit by a car and ended up in front of us. i slammed on the brakes and got out to see if i could help. but i really wasnt expecting to see her in such a bad way. i cant really explain it (makes me cry every time i think about it, which i just cant stop doing) but i am not exaggerating when i say the side of her head was hanging off. one old woman came up and to have a look and said " oh my god" and then went off gagging. i really thought she was going to die right in front of me cos she was losing so much blood and her injuries looked so bad. anyway i went and grabbed one of ellis' jumpers from the car and held it against her head to try and stop the blood coming out so fast (as instructed by the phone operator)and tried to say reassuring things to her (but failed miserably i think). i just kept saying "dont worry the ambulance will be here in a minute, they will sort you out" and i was thinking "HURRY UP, HURRY UP, shes goign to die" anyway, the ambulance did turn up really quick and the paramedics were so amazing. they were so calm and efficient. i didnt hang around after they turned up and took over cos i was so shaken up. i think i probably should have done, but i was panicking about the kids too and just said " you dont need me anymore od you?" and got in my car and drove off shaking. i randg the hospital later to see how she was and they wouldnt give me any details, but luckily i found a news story about it on the local newspaper website and it said she was in a 'serious but stable' condition. i feel terrible that i cant find out more though, cos she could have died since then. and i cant stop reliving it and thinking of all these things i should of said to her to that i didnt and stuff i should have done that i didnt.

ANYWAY!!! sorry about that, i really needed to get it all off my chest.......................i think my dh is probably a bit fed up with me going over and over it.

i will be back and more cheery soon.
