Love Norman Firsty!!! . Yes, Ted does repsond to Ted and Theo... Its one of those things you need to think about as names from this age can stick around . We used to call DS1 Ping Pong, not really quite sure why but we've tried to stop this especially as the magic girl in Rupert the Bear is called Ping Pong - it may cause DS1 some gender concerns later in life

honey - congrats on getting a completion date! we havnt even finished renovating our house yet and dp is already talking of our next project i dont think i can face another move just yet!

fettle - how is everything in your household? enjoying being a SAHM?

babylove - it sounds like a very bad experience you had with the hospital you poor thing! its great that your little baby is so responsive. i remember when i was pg that the only thing oscar responded to was the sound of drills, hammers, and cold things being placed on my bump have you had any more thoughts on your baby shower?

bodkin - how are you?

seaside - hows the properties going now? had any joy yet?

chooster - hi! there is probably something i was going to say to you - but cant remember and if i turn back the page il lose what i have just written!

dd1 - congrats on the bfp!! i do remember you from the ttc boards!

all is chaos in our household at the mo, dps sister turned up on our doorstep weds night, she has left her dh after 20 yrs so we are trying to console her and also see if they can ever be reunited again and sort through their differences.

i have booked oscars swimming lessons too which im sooo excited about! he starts in september

iamamummy · 25/07/2008 12:01

firstar - also forgot to say im glad things are improving for you and ty.all babies love their mummies
oscar was in histerics last night i have never seen him laugh so much and all it was over - as soon as dp spoke not even at him to me or his sister oscar would just crack up, he never does that for me! he looked so happy! also he said da da for the first time yesterday - and continued shouting for da da for about an hour!

seaside72 · 25/07/2008 12:53

Hi everyone

I dont get online for afew days and look what hapens - a new thread, Mrsmc is back and City's due date has passed !!!! how exciting.

Mrs - so lovely to "see" you back on here with us - yes please post a pic of Xavier - are Oscar, Xavier and Cassius the closest three births on the thread??! Will be funny to compare them - I bet they are all so different - I still can't believe my baby is 6 months old! So you are trying for number 2! I know you are too Iammummy - I am afraid I am not quite there yet! It's funny but I feel exactly the same as felt before we started TTC - scared to try and scared not to try iykwim?!

greedy - what a horrid pox invasion you have had - how awful - poor little Marcy's back (and ellis's bum!!) I really hope they are feeling/getting better - and that you are getting some sleep xxxxx

honey - your completion date is quite soon!! What a summer you are going to have - but lovely to be in your new home for the autumn. I wonder how many people in the country spend their August bank holiday moving!!

fettle - Your boss sounds like a wanker! Mine was a bit like that when I left too and I had put my heart and soul in to his company (and subsequently his wallet!) I am sorry you did not feel appreciated - I think you have definitely made the right decision - hopefully the next person you work for will either be yourself or someone who knows what a gem a they have got

babylove - sorry your scan was not a good experience. My NHS 20week scan was like that - I was the last appt of the day and they did not even show me the screen Luckily I had a private one booked too which I was going to cancel but decided to have instead. Have you thought about booking a 3d scan - there are lots of places now and some are not too £££.

Bodkin - wow - Nelly is finished at pre-school - big school in September, hope it stopped raining with you - we have had some boiling days down here but also loads of rain and wind . have to say we were up in London at the weekend and it was so humid and close - I was so glad to get home to the sea breeze and clear air

Chooster - Great news about your cousin - have heard that so often after IVF - some friends of ours tried for 2 years had IVF then 6 months later got pg naturally - so now have 2 with only a 15 month gap!

dd1 - wonderful news - congrats on your BFP

Iammummy - glad the snoring is better - and no more sofa nights! So sweet about Oscar laughing - Cassius is the same - I know how to make him laugh and he just giggles away! He has also been saying Dadada - but I am sure it is him just playing with sounds. he is making oads of funny noises now and eally trying to hold a conversation iykwim?! Sad about your Dp's sis - hope it works itself out. Swimming is BRILLIANT - the best activity I have done with Cassius

All is well with us - ((((shhh)))) whispers - cottages both sale agreed and progressing well - don't want to jinx it though. we will not make much £ at all but who knew there would be a property crash hey - oh well. Apart from that DH and I had a yucky tummy bug but it seems to have escaped it so far.

Also need some advice - Cassius has just developed little excema patches behind his ears and knees - is this it forever? - neither DH nor I have it, nor any of our immediate family? I am sure it is nothing I have given him foodwise. Any advice/tips gladly received. Now I am nervous to move onto next stage of weaning - cheese/dairy etc?? Also I seem to have gotten stuck in a root veg/fruit purre rut - what next -when do you start toast/finger foods etc any good recipe tips and ideas? needed!

Oh - and I ahve started work too very flexible - few hours a week at a friends business - am there now!!! not working but on MN _ DH at home with Cassius - keep getting calls to say he is having a nightmare - wont eat/nap etc and DH not vene managed to get dressed!!

Gotta go - must look like I am doing some work!
xxxxx

ps. sorry if I have missed anyone and for mistakes - no time to preview
xxxx

seaside72 · 25/07/2008 12:54

sooo many typos!!

Chooster · 25/07/2008 13:21

Hi seaside - great news on the cottages - like you say no-one could predict the slump we are having and hopefully you wont have lost money which is pretty good going at the moment. At the next upturn, you'll make bucket loads of cash . How is the work going? Are you doing some admin type work? Hope DP manages without you .

Max had excema on the inside of his elbows and backs of knees and like you there is no history of it in the family. He got this from about Cassuis's age (I think, time blurs a bit) but it slowly disappeared when he was 3. It would flare up at times and then seem to almost disappear at others and I could never quite figure out the cause, although when he was in the sun it did seem to make it worse. I tried a few different things but found Aveeno products worked quite well, particularly the one for the bath. It stopped the itching anyway so he wasn't going at it. You may want something more natural though, but I never looked into more traditional remedies.

Oh, and yes, the root veg / fruit rut - that old chestnut!!! With Theo I really tried to make a variety of puree's but kept falling back the the old classics - sweet potato with everything . I think I started Theo on finger foods from around 7 months and he had rusks, toast, rice cakes, brocolli trees, strips of steam parsnip (which is oddly really liked )... I'm a bit rubbish at being creative with food, but was just looking at the recipe bit on MN today for ideas and its quite good!

So, as you can all gather, I'm not busy at ALL at work and have been trying to look vaguely busy. The hardest thing I've had to do today was figure out how I can squeeze in 40 days holiday between now and December, baring in mind there are only about 100 working days left and I'm only part-time . I'm hardly going to be here

Oh, I forgot Iamamummy! - Love the image of Oscar laughing away - its fab when they giggle so much. Its lovely that the babies have been born in little clusters. There's the January trio of boys, and the July gang (Isla, Theo and Ty are all within 2 weeks of each other I think ), and Marcy and Dex were fairly close weren't they?. We really do need more pink babies on this thread dont we

Chooster · 25/07/2008 13:34

Oops, x'd firsty... Shame you can't get Ty in swimming earlier .

I get 39 days a year holiday (inc bank hols), but carried forward 5 from last year before my mat leave as I was too busy to take them. For the maths buffs among you the reason its not 44 days is because my hols are now pro-rated as I'm part-time. . Just in case the EXACT calculation of my holiday entitlement was bothering any of you

sorry no time to post properly to you all again but just read seasides post.

seaside - oscar had exzema on his back - then it went to his tummy and i managed to clear it up with just using e45 cream, however he now has it under his arms and a small patch on his shoulder so i am using e45 again. it all seems to be fine though and like you have no history of exzema in the family or anything. im sure its just because their skin is sensitive.

iamamummy · 25/07/2008 14:09

firstar - have you got any other pools close by? i tried 3. my closest one didnt start lessons until 6 months but tbh the pool and changing facilities are grotty! the other one which is a gorgeous pool and basically a brand new centre doesnt start until babies are 1, so i settled with the inbetween pool about 15 minutes drive but all staff seemed friendly and it was clean just old. they start there from 4 months. the thing i also liked about it is that they get awards too for example the first time they go under water etc. maybe im silly......but i liked that idea

Aw, baby ducks!!! . Thats really cute...

Yes, I think I'm settling in quite well - it may be a different story once I've actually got some work to do . At the moment, I'm mainly surfing the internet and spending too much money on on-line sales

firsty, firsty, firsty - I missed you on my post - and I was thinking of you loads too! Think I must have been saving you till last then got worried I had spent 30mins on MN!!

I hope you are feeling better about Ty- I think it is so hard especially when you can't comfort them etc which happens to everyone sometimes. Choosters words of wisdom seemed perfect. I think all our babes will go through phases and no one can ever be as important as Mummy in a baby's world. I just think how wonderful it will be when our boys are older and can look after Mummy!

Can I just say again how amazing swimming is with Cassius, we started when he was 11 weeks- definitely do it as soon as you can. We are doing starfish awards in our group and Cassius is up to level 4 - he will get badges and certificates (when I remember to take the teacher some £ for them!!) I bet you will find that kind of activity really helps your bonding with Ty also.

cityangel - we are thinking about you and hoping all is going well

OK did I forget anyone else??
