thank you everyone for advice about eczema - I have tried loads of creams - but not e45 yet - will try that Iammummy. Glad to hear Max's disappeared Chooster - I was researching and read that most babies grow out of it by the time they start school. Will try the oil in the bath too firsty

I don't think it bothers him too much yet thank goodness - he only seems to touch the bits behind his ears which actually are the least affected?

Also will check out the feeding threads for some ideas on food Chooster. What is Oscar on now Iammummy? I seem to remember you started waening a while ago - we have been going since 20 weeks - so nearly 8 weeks now - just when you get used to one stage you have to move onto the next!!

Ok off to my evening date with the steriliser - groan!

rainbowdays · 25/07/2008 22:10

seaside - yep you forgot me!!!!

seaside72 · 25/07/2008 22:25

arghhh!!! rainbowdays - how are you - how is Jak - any more news on #4 yet!!

MrsMcJnr · 26/07/2008 00:47

Hey Chooster (email is @live.co.uk) can?t wait to get your email update! ) lovely news about your cousin LOL at Theo Ted, I can Xavier, Xavier Bear, don?t know why but I do worry that he?ll think that is his name! Better make sure you tell Max?s first girlfriend that he was called Ping Pong Xavier is already a ladies? man he even giggles when I just say the word ?ladies?! We can?t buy sweet potato here!! Any chance of redundancy for you? I hear the sledge hammer is being wielded rather freely there!

Firsty ? it is lovely to spend time with my Mum (thought she is being a total pain about my weight I weigh the same as I did before the pregnancy (which was too much already I guess) but it seems to be distributed differently and my tummy seems ultra fat I don?t need her pointing it out to me all the time though.

Good for you Babylove, you stick to your guns! Cub is sweet! DS was Beanie and funnily enough, the catamaran my Dad chartered in the BVI but in April was called Beanie .. spooky!

PMSL Greedy your poor DS! Hope the kids are getting better.

Iammummy lovely to chat to you. Sorry to hear about your SIL

Seaside hello! Cassius, lovely name hon. Xavier?s b?day is 24 Jan. We seem to be at the same stage of weaning too. Xavier is on week 5. I bought Annabel Karmel?s book and am following her planned weeks. There are some good recipes in there. Sorry to hear about the sore skin, hope it disappears quickly.

Hello Rainbowdays

greedygreedyguzzler · 26/07/2008 09:03

havent read anything else yet, just seen your post honey when you said you DID want to meet up again at some point! PHEW! do you know i was seriously considering disappearing off the face of MN cos i thought i must have been such a knob when we met up that you never wanted to see me again. PHEW! i am so relieved! i know it sounds stupid but i care about what you lot think!!! whenevr stuff is more back to normal for you i will be up for another meet up!!!

morning everyone else............off to read all the other posts now!

scorpio1 · 26/07/2008 10:44

Hi everyone

Jus tcrashing to say hi to Mrs TTC-ing again, eh? Good luck! We are going again at xmas for dc4....then DH will have a vasectomy i think, otherwise i will just carry on!

Anyone going on hols soon? We are going to the Loire valley, wondering how Mimi will cope in the car. Have never taken a small baby on holiday before, only R when he was 14 months.

greedygreedyguzzler · 26/07/2008 11:16

ok...had a quick scan through........and a couple of patients to see, im not THAT slow at reading!!!

havent got much to say really

ellis' tonsilitis seems to have gone......still has his amazingly spotty botty but i wont post a picture of that dont worry.

marcy and ellis slept through last night which is the first time for a week since they have had the pox! so must be on the mend hey? they both seem fine now anyway............is that tempting fate for some other horrible illness to strike!!???

glad all is well with everyone, everybody seems happy!

chooster ....dotn forget toby or fettle will get upset. he is pretty close to marcy and dex too.

heard of another dex the other day honey, first one i have heard of.....and he had a big brother called Neo!

seaside - i get eczema and i am allergic to E45! just in case cassius is the same. but i know it works for lots of people. actually anything with lanolin in it makes my skin go crap, so watch out for that too. ellis had it as a baby too and has grown out of it.

better go.kids and dh are waiting!

seaside72 · 26/07/2008 19:07

blooming heck - I forgot Scorpio too - sorry - I have lost my MN mojo obviously!

Scorpio - we drive up to London lots with Cassius and usually go in the evening after bath and bottle and he sleeps the whole way - we actually bought a Jane carseat which lays flat as we knew we would be driving lots. I always make take lots of toys and mobiles etc and he is great. Having said that we are driving down to the South of France at the end of August DH and I (and dogs) have done it lots and usually in one go - 14 hours straight from Folkestone - not sure what will happen tis time with Cassius - I think we wil just see how he goes - I am going to find a few places where we could stop for the night if needs be. I am sure everyone thinks we are mad!!!

greedy - glad Ellis and Marcy are feeling better

Chooster · 26/07/2008 19:54

Funny you should say that greedy as E45 made Max's excema much worse when I tried it. Wonder if he is allergic to something in it too. At least his is gone adn Theo doesn't have any yet, so maybe he will escape.

SO glad the kids are better Greedy - that must be a massive relief! Poor Ellis' bot though! I bet you feel better after a good night sleep last night. My little ted has slept through the last 2 nights too, which is unusual for him unlike your snoozers! Hoping it continues.

Aaah, little Xavier the ladies man - I bet he is very cute . Thanks for the e-mail info - the e-mail in on my work PC so I'll send it on Monday. Yup you are right the axe is being wielded quite a bit at work, in a subtle 'not so subtle' way, if you know what I mean. I dont think any of us know the true numbers involved, but its a sign of the times. To be honest I'm not too worried, not because I'm being a bit smug and think my job is safe, but only because its happened to me before and there's not much you can do about it. So, best not worry . How is DH's work going there????

Sorry I missed you out wee Toby!!!! I forgot you were in that little gang as well! . Hope the break went well Fettle.

Right, gonna dash and get some food.
x

MrsMcJnr · 26/07/2008 23:42

Hey, you met up?!!?? when, where and how did it go? I so wish I?d been there!!!!
Greedy ? great to hear the kids are getting better and that you are getting more sleep.
Hey Scorpio congratulations on Mimi it must be lovely for you to have a little girl after the boys I like her name too. Have a lovely holiday! Sounds like we may be TTC again together. Sounds bad but I really hope I get a visit from AF before it happens so that I can watch my drinking. Living in Spain makes slugging wine a little too easy
That holiday sounds like an adventure Seaside!

Chooster DH is quite enjoying work. My Dad is a bit of a control freak and he finds that annoying but otherwise it?s going well, just a shame we came when there isn?t much business going on.

Bodkin · 27/07/2008 14:58

Wow this thread has come alive again!

Nooo way I can possibly catch up with everything... but Hi to everyone!

All great here - got DPs family staying this last week (hence no MN time) and have been having some great fun at the beach - Isla loves it, although insists on being completely starkers... and then removing the sand from her bumcrack is quite a task! She's having a nap now, then we're joining the others for a late afternoon dip and some fizzers and chizzers (fish n chips).

Firsty - Ty sounds like he's doing well with the chatting! So far, Isla's repertoire of words is: Daddy, doggy, teddy (basically they all sound the same!) Nelly, No and just yesterday, n'night as we're taking her off to bed. Bless her, she's such a little poppet.

Yes, Chooster, the memories of the last year are fading, but am loving moving onwards and upwards and have no desire to go back!

Chooster · 27/07/2008 20:13

Good to hear that DH is enjoying work, even if it is a little quiet. I imagine he's happier than working at his old place. OOohhh, I can imagine that wine flows easily!!! .

You describe a lovely picture Bodders of your family all at the beach - lovely image - sounds like a great place to raise the girls . And I do really know what you mean. Although I dont have that feeling of final closure about having babies, I just know that life for us is going to get easier and more fun as the boys grow up and I'm not convinced about going back to the baby days again.

Well, something is bugging Theo again!!!! He's been sick twice today and has been grumpy. One of his top teeth is through but the other is still a bulging lump. Can his teeth really be giving him this much hassle - if so its going to be a painful year ahead for us all . There has been chicken pox in his nursery room though so am wondering about that now... Bloody kids eh!!!!

fettle · 27/07/2008 21:41

Hey all!!!

No way I can catch up just now - not sure i could even find the old thread to find out what happened there! So, fill me in on all on the gossip someone (Greedy!!).

Hey MrsMc - didn't miss that you are back! You've caused some worry on the pg after Mc thread when you disappeared!!! So pleased to hear all is well - will have to read back now and find out all the details!!!

Bodders - you still on for meeting up again soon? Only got back a couple of hours ago and Toby is only just asleep so haven't had a chance to check e-mails yet. Next week is probably better for us, unless it is Friday? I promise I'll try e-mailing you tomorrow!!

Chooster - still not finalised our plans for our trip home, but if you e-mail MrsMc, she has my e-mail address so at least we can contact eachother off-line that way to see if we can arrange a meet-up when I'm up your way! (assuming Mrs doesn't mind passing on my e-mail address?)

Had a great week away - hadn't really realised how great DH's are until they are not there in the middle of the night!!!. Toby has been a bit of a tinker - twice nightly wakings and generally for an hour at a time. But another tooth is coming through and he has two red bulging lumps where his first molars are in the bottom, so I suppose that's the problem! Like Theo, he seems to be finding teething a bit tricky. Unlike hairy, toothy Marcy!!!! How's her moving going?

Did get lots of help during the day from parents and my sister, so that was good. And DD had a fantastic time being fussed over -not looking forward to tomorrow with 2 tired, bored, used-to-constant attention children to look after while I'm so exhausted too! Best go sleeping now and hope I can catch up properly tomorrow, if they let me!!

Still think I'm happy about the work decision, but still sad it ended the way it did. Had a letter waiting for me saying I'm entitled to much more holiday than I had calculated, so that is all useful money I wasn't expecting!

big hugs to everyone!
xxx

evening all

just a quickie to say that my friend had her baby yesterday- a little girl- she weighed 4.11- so not too tiny- although she will be in hospital for a month or so. Only got a brief text from her hubbie- so dont know any thing else yet- but glad that the baby is here.

Chooster · 28/07/2008 11:04

Congratulations to your friend Honey, even if its in such bad circumstances. Hopefully her little girl will be OK, like you say thats not a bad weight - How many weeks was she? I guess now the treatment starts? Fingers crossed for her, what an awful situation .

iamamummy · 28/07/2008 11:50

morning ladies

well sil has gone home (atlast) her hubby is arriving home today too so hopefully they can sort things out and from what i gather they will. its such a testing time having family stay i think - i felt constantly that i was being watched with my own son and as the days went on i was getting politely criticised on EVERYTHING including feeding my own bloody fish!! but hey ho back to normal now

firstar - anyluck with the pool? Oscar is starting off in the tadpoles class - im so excited!!thats so cute ty can say kiss!

seaside - any luck with the e45? i have noticed a few more little patches on oscar but they dont seem to bother him. with regards to food - oscar has fruit puree for breakfast but i have been told now he is 6 months (in a week) that he can have natural yogurt with that so will be giving that a try. he also has a mushed rusk occassionally. for lunch which he very rarely has that much its just a baby yogurt or rice cake and for dinner he has veggies and i make it with lumps not completely pureed down, he used to spit out the lumps but now he actually chews his food (even though he is toothless) i am also going to check out the food section for some recipe ideas. by the way he is still have 5 8oz bottles on top of that too, not sure whether to cut him down or not. at baby clinic there is a weaning group so i will be attending that next week hopefully for some pointers.

mrs - i can imagine the flow of wine mixed with lush sunshine and beautiful scenery

bodkin - your family sounds beautiful - i would so love to live by the sea instead of all the hussle and bussle we get here!

oscar is calling to better be off....xxx

iamamummy · 28/07/2008 11:51

honey - im glad your friend has had her baby, all the best for them to get through this tough time ahead xx

Hello all

Nice to see the TTC graduate thread is still going strong with all the original gang (and more). Sorry I didn't manage to get back to it. My mum's cancer returned when Brooke was only one month old and the following month she was diagnosed terminal so pretty much the past year has been spent trying to deal with three kids and caring for mum - no time for mumsnet or much else for that matter. Mum lost her battle just a couple of months ago and so I am trying to get used to a completely different way of life but will get there. Don't want to put doom and gloom on your lovely thread - just wanted to explain why I promised I would be back with a vengance then disappeared again.

I feel I have lost complete touch with all your stories but just wanted to say hi and that I hope you are all having a wonderful time with your families.

Take care all.

PBx

Oh Pinkbutterfly, am so so sorry to hear that. It must have been such a traumatic year for you . Good to hear from you again and hopefully you'll pop back in again soon. Not much has really happened, just a few more babies and we'd love to hear how you are.

greedygreedyguzzler · 28/07/2008 20:28

pinkb - im so sorry to hear about your mum. made me cry reading your post. we are here to chat if you ever need us.........abpout anything!

your post made me cry too honey. congrats to your friend, but i can timagine what mixed emotions she must have at the moment. having a baby is emotional enough on its own without having anything else to deal with.

welcome back bodders and fettle.

well.........day 47 of my cycle today and i think af might hve arrived................nice to know my body is back to being as crap as ever after having marcy!
