Thanks @GCS34 and@17nic

Not been told about Badger Notes so assume that's not a thing in our location. I was given access to Tommy's App at my booking appointment but there's nothing informative on there (yet) and I think that was for my referral for additional scans (high risk due to Lletz) not routine scans.

Good shout about ringing up due to Christmas planning. We are away most of Christmas NY so wouldn't be a lie 🤪

Jinx on the LLETZ and being consultant led. Do you have to have the cervix measurement scan at 16 weeks too then? And potential cerclerge? That's probaby why I wasn't as fast as others, but I rang them and just nudged them! And yeah ring them, screw it! x

@BroomAdventures Sorry you've had some bleeding, it's unbelievably common it should really be spoken about more. I had some at 5+5 (the day of my miscarraige last year like a sick joke) and had a scan at 6 weeks and all was okay. I had a scan Saturday (was included as part of our IVF package) and babes was measuring 10+1 so I am hoping toinght is all good then obviously the scan next week.

Least we will both know by Christmas and we can tell more people. Have you told anyone yet? And yes very scary to think this time next week I should know what we're having. I've my suspicions!

Oh goodness. I’m glad it’s settled for you! And glad your scans have went well so far, I’m sure tonight will be the same.

I’ve told a few people, mum, close friend and my manager as I had to get out of work for appointments! I have been asked if I’m expecting though and I feel weird saying no when I am!

What do you think you’re having? My symptoms are different from my son and I’ve an inkling this baby is a girl but I may be completely wrong!

Thanks i'll let you know how it goes! Only an hour to go 😫time has gone slowwwwwwwww today.

How have work been? I work from home so I'm quite lucky that I have been able to hide it (and appointments!) well. I don't think i'll tell work until 20 weeks if I can. Are you showing? I know you tend to more with 2nd. It's nice haven't someone to talk to though rather than it be some secret - makes it feel more real.

I think boy, but to be honest, I am SO grateful for whatever we get - it's been one hell of a rollercoaster 2 years of IVF - I'll take a frog, so long as it was my frog right now!

Awwww exciting. Will you find out early or wait until 20 weeks?

houwseevryweekend · 11/12/2024 17:46

@GCS34 So pleased your scan was all ok and things are ticking along nicely! Must be a relief as I know how stressful it can be. Hoping the rest of your journey remains stress free and enjoyable.

Wanted to update as I say goodbye to all of you lovely people, what a kind, supportive space this has been. I started miscarrying naturally Sun evening when I'd have been 8w3d (though the sac was 6w2d) and by Mon afternoon it was all over with everything passed. Painful but not unbearable. I thought it would be imminent when I learnt that even my sac had stopped growing. EGU will scan me on Tue to confirm it's completed but it feels like it has as no more pain or bleeding. I feel physically fine luckily, and based on what I've read, could be ready to try again early next month. Send me your baby dust!

Good luck to everyone, and I'll check back again in July to see all the lovely baby news.

GCS34 · 09/12/2024 15:19

@MaSads oh my god i'm so glad you have said this and that @Pricklypickles agrees - I thought I was just a porker! I've been in leggings constantly (tbh, I was before, but least I have an excuse now!) This is my first too, so I've not even got a slight excuse! Apparently if you're smaller build, which I am, you show sooner. Can anyone vouch for that? And when did you ladies 'pop' and actually look pregnant not just like you'd eaten too much pasta for lunch?

@MaSads when are you planning to tell her and do you have a cute way to yet? And I am with you on the nausea. I seem to be 2 on, 1 off atm. I'm hoping that ratio of good:bad will swap soon!!

@Pricklypickles @GCS34 I'm glad we are not alone with it! I am living in high waist joggers at home, bought some maternity jeans at h and m the other day but they are a little too big right now! I arguably look full on pregnant already, but I am a bit overweight and never pinged back to my old self before my daughter and csection so I guess it was to be expected! I am also very short, midwife told me that shorter women tend to have more pronounced bumps because theres 'no where for them to go!' not sure how scientifically accirate that is but I am very concious that it looks quite obvious!

@GCS34 My 12 week scan is also 20th December so the plan is to tell her on Christmas, and assuming the scan goes well, tell everyone else too which at this point will be a relief because theres only so many times I can avoid people

MaSads · 11/12/2024 18:06

Julilie93 · 09/12/2024 22:37

Same here.. 11 weeks tomorrow and I have a mini bump (also lots of bloat in the evenings), the thing is I mostly wear skinny jeans 😖 and it feels so tight, I cannot hold for much longer. I've bought maternity jeans ready for Jan.. don't want to start wearing them before the announcement as I'm worried the band might show.
It's my second, with my first I switched the jeans around 16 weeks but didn't start to really show until 20/22 weeks I'd say! So definitely soooner this time

@Julilie93 I'm a skinny jeans girl too, I have been using a hairband to wear mine out and about, looped around the button and button hole. Yes it definitely seems to be different 2nd time round! I guess our bodies already know the process, I have had a lot less back pain/cramps compared to my first with all the moving and stretching ...here's hoping that continues! When is your 12 week scan?

I don't remember exactly how much they took off during the LLETZ, as was a few years ago so they've said they'll do additional scans and take it from there. My midwife couldn't remember when exactly that scan would be but said she has referred me. It was her last day so I think she was a bit checked out tbh!

Superscientist · 11/12/2024 19:39

@houwseevryweekend I'm sorry for your loss. All the best over the coming weeks and months. Hopefully there's some baby dust for both of us in the near future. Take care x

@MaSads ahhhh amazing your scan is next Friday too!! Mines at 11:45am when’s yours? And yes I’m defo feeling the bloated vibes. Though apparently you start showing from around now? And yes we’re telling people on Xmas day. Going to get some cute little Cards from Etsy to give to everyone. God makes me cry already. what will you be on your scan?

@CatmumTTC ahhh I don’t remember either but I recall it being painful! My midwife said between 12-16 weeks for the consultant appointment to discuss, with scan between 16 and 20 weeks to check it. Then cerclarge at 20/24 weeks apparently. I’m just happy they can do something about it if it is weakened. There are 3 of us with scans within 24hrs which is nice ☺️

just had my scan as part of my NIPT test and babes was measuring ahead. 10+4 by IVF dates ( so very accurate to the minute!) but measuring 11 so that’s good. Baby was on its head and boxing which was nice - so glad I couldn’t feel it. Very mobile and cute nose now appearing. Next stop 12 weeks 😱😱😱

@houwseevryweekend I am so so so sorry to read this. I’m honestly in awe of you and how supportive you have been of everyone here despite everything you’ve had going on. You’re a warrior and so deserving of nothing but happiness. I really hope you get through this phase and 2025 is your year. Xxxx

MrsS11 · 11/12/2024 19:59

@houwseevryweekend I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope you have some time and space to recover in amongst the Christmas madness. @lovealways97 you obviously can take partners to any appointment but there's really no point for the booking appointment, it's long and boring! Once you get to 20 weeks you will be able to hear the heartbeat on the Doppler at midwife appointments which is nice. Tbh I think I only took my husband to later ones (which are pretty frequent) when I was struggling to drive myself

Hope everyone is well! My 12 week scan was so good and seeing the baby doing back flips and kicking around was such a relief. Now 13 + 2 and feeling absolutely dreadful with a cold with paracetamol not touching the sides. Any old wives tales you swear by to shift this snot anyone?

The only thing that helped me was hot drinks and warm baths! Having a cold when pregnant is horrid!

Scan today, 12+3. Eek!
