Hey all sorry I've been quiet, works been crazy busy! I had my booking appointment at 8 weeks yesterday Starting to feel a bit more real now. Only problem is our indoor cat has somehow got fleas and they are extremely attracted to me. I've got over twenty bites and it's keeping me awake at night as I get a really bad reaction to them. I'm really stressed about it and convinced I'm going to miscarry from some toxic flea bacteria (thanks Google!). Can't use antihistamines either!

@CatmumTTC that sounds like a nightmare. Can you use something topical like germolene or sudocrem to take the edge off the itch? I’m not sure My anti sickness drugs are antihistamines so there may be some you can take, perhaps speak to a pharmacist.

I have had a nightmarish few days, last night in particular. My toddler got a sickness bug but I came down with it last night. Coupled with my HG I was sick every hour for over 12 hours and couldn’t keep anything down. Thankfully this morning I was able to drink some water and keep some medication down but oh my god it’s been brutal. I am hoping there isn’t a repeat tonight.

@GCS34 thank you for the kind thoughts. My next scan is 17 Dec. I still have my pregnancy symptoms so my body has not gotten the memo. But looking back, 6w1d which is when everything seemed to stop is the day I had a high fever and felt rotten - remember worrying that baby wasn't ok because of how weird I felt. And I've felt anxious since that day, so I think that's was my body telling me something wasn't right.

💐 so sorry for people who are having a tough time!
My symptoms keep on disappearing which I'm finding very worrying, and my dating scan won't be until 13 weeks 🙈 I'm 9+1 today. I cant wait that long so I've booked a private one for next weekend and I just can't shake the feeling it's all going to disappear 😔 managing the anxiety is really tough

@houwseevryweekend that’s so sad you’re still feeling so rotten. It’s not fair at all. Did you continue to feel poorly after that or was it just one day? I’m so sorry you’re going through this and you have to wait another 10 days until you get some clarity. If you need to talk we’re all here if you do. Have you got something to keep distracted with this weekend?

I have my 10 week scan at 4:30pm and I’m so sorry scared. I feel sick I’ve just never got this far before I’m just expecting everything to be the same again

also has anyone / is anyone doing the NIPT test?

I am exactly the same. I have a Scan in an hour and I’m so petrified. I’m 10 weeks today and I’m so so scared like you. I’m so worried it’s all over. And my symptoms are up and down. 🥺🙈

Hope I don't sound ridiculous, mentioned yesterday my nausea had stopped. Woke up this morning heaving but not nauseas but I've convinced myself I wasn't actually heaving and I was making myself to do it to 'give' myself a symptom. Also had a 1 hour nap on the couch before so trying to find some comfort that maybe not all my symptoms have gone.

@17nic thank you. Scan was 4:30pm tonight so just had it. I had a scan at 6+5, 7+5, 8+3 and today at 10 (IVF hence so many).

todays was great. Baby’s measuring a day ahead and was dancing away, waving at me, and kicking the hell out of me 😂 my symptoms have been on and off all week so hopefully that reassures you.

@LifeonMarss i completely get it, a bit of a damned if you do damned if you don't situation! Don't underestimate the tiredness though 😴

I completely resonate with this! My symptoms have been coming and going since I was 8+1 and making me so worried. My scan at 10 weeks was perfect though so please try not to fret, it’s completely normal for things to vary, especially more towards the end of the first trimester

@TiffanyBlythe Thanks lovely! You’re just ahead of me aren’t you — 11 weeks tomorrow? Is your next stop 12 weeks right and when’s that scan? Have you done the private NIPT test, or has anyone? I have booked one for Wednesday. And will find the gender out with it too!

Yes well when I went to my scan I was one day ahead of where I thought I was so I’m 11 weeks today! My 12 week scan is booked for 18th December so I’ll be 12+4 then! Is a private NIPT test any different from the one they do at the 12 week scan with the NHS?

Hi ladies,

i had my first scan last wk at 6+6, the baby was tiny, measuring 6+4 and the she couldn’t see much there. There was an obvious heartbeat though .
initially my first scan was planned for next week when I would be 7+6, but due to brown spotting my doctor advised me to do one sooner (I had IVF)

but the spotting has not stopped- it has been almost a week with spotting on daily basis..
I have my booking appt on Tuesday and another scan on Wednesday. I can’t help but worry about the spotting… i had nothing like that during my previous pregnancy.
any advice at all?

@TiffanyBlythe ahh that’s why I dated you tomorrow as know you had it on the Sunday. Exciting that your 12 week scan is only in 11 days!! I’ve not got my date through yet but they said it will be this year. Said it will be on badger notes by Monday so hopefully will find out soon!

and similar — Screens for genetic abnormality and chromosome issues and chance of healthy baby etc, but gives a nearly 100% accuracy on results. Think for my anxiety and PTSD from last time, it will help me enjoy the pregnancy and relax hopefully! I just so WANT to enjoy this pregnancy and relax I want piece of mind. Added bonus is we find the gender too.

Ah okay that makes sense. Just had a look and they’re quite expensive so I’ll probably just do the NHS one, that’ll be enough for me. I would love to know the gender though!

@MiniMaisy hey! Fellow IVF’er over here so o feel your anxious pain! So the spotting and bleeding — my clinic (along with my 2 x friends clinics who also had IVF) told me that for IVF pregnancies, there is a 40% chance of bleeding due to the fact the embryo goes ‘up’ into the uterus rather than down, and the implantation so hopefully that will reassure you!

I had spotting around 6 weeks and it was brown like you. My clinic said it was good it was brown and it is likely implantation blood coming out. Or a hematoma. I had a scan after and no sing of blood. They said providing not getting heavier (more than a pad an hour) with cramping, it’s relatively normal and said pregnancy is like trying to re-plumb a house with the water still on.

My anxiety is currently through the roof again (as I think it is for a lot of us!) I’m 6+4 so quite far behind most of you but my nausea is still there but has started to fade a bit and my HCG tests keep getting lighter.

They were ‘dye stealers’ for a while but the one in the pic below where I’m holding it is 6 weeks and then the one on the countertop is today at 6+4 and they keep getting lighter 😢 I know about the hook affect but I thought that was normally later on? Even looked at booking an early scan but all my local ones are booked up right until after Christmas. This anxiety is awful 😣

those easy @ home strips are really not consistent. I did three separate ones from the same pee pot around where you are, 1 was completely negative, 2 was dark ish, 3 was darker. So they’re really not consistent. I got a bit obsessed with FRER as they were more consistent (but ££££). Honestly these test strips are notoriously inconsistent. I really hope that eases your anxiety. Xx
