Joining late but better than never! Got my BFP back in May and just gone 7 weeks. Early scan later today so hoping to hear a heartbeat. I've been so sick since around 5 weeks but just taking it day by day. Thanks so much for the thread and congratulations on all the other BFPs :)

Also joining late! 😊
I am 5 weeks 3 days. I have an early scan next Thursday at EPU. They offered me this as past gyne problems. I had a MMC in January at 10weeks so praying this pregnancy goes well!
I feel quite fine so far, very positive, sore boobs and nausea here & there but nothing major!
Wishing everyone all the happiness 🥰

UrbanSquirrel · 26/06/2024 11:19

Welcome @Kt1704 and wishing you all the best this time round! Good to have you on board x

@alwayellie I am also 7 weeks and going for an early scan after work this evening after joining mumsnet yesterday and others recommended it. Been feeling a lot of cramping and this is my first pregnancy and I'm quite honestly freaking out (lol). So I'm hoping it will be reassuring. Hope yours goes well for you!

T0r11210 · 26/06/2024 11:33

5 weeks exactly today and sore boobs comes and goes and not really much else. With DD I was asleep by 8pm every evening by now 😂
im having a swab and urine sample tomorrow as I’ve had a few bouts of spotting and irritation and Dr wonders if it’s thrush or urine infection.
i had LLETZ last year so wonder if my cervix is more irritated as well. Anyone else has this procedure?

Hope1986 · 26/06/2024 11:35

Hi all, I am 4 weeks + 6 days. I got my positive yesterday. The line doesn’t look any darker today, is that a bad sign? I am super anxious because I suffered a loss in March 2020. My breast pain seems to have eased slightly and I am having occasional cramps in my lower abdomen and I am super tired. I could sleep all day!

@SBelfast Totally same boat! First pregnancy too so feeling nervous but hoping all goes well and it'll be good reassurance. I have cramps on and off but it's the nausea that's been hitting me hard but I keep reminding myself it's a good sign.

elb1504 · 26/06/2024 12:03

@SBelfast I've had a lot of cramps on and off this pregnancy which I don't remember from my last one but I think it's just everything stretching! I think as long as its not severe pain and bleeding it's just everything going on inside!

I had a scan yesterday at 8+2 and all was well.

UrbanSquirrel · 26/06/2024 12:13

Good luck for your scan too @SBelfast! Let us know how it goes. Keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be reassuring for you x

@Hope1986 I wouldn't put too much store in line darkening as, from what others have said, it isn't always reliable. I would suggest the next step would be to double check with a ClearBlue digital, which will give you a date indicator as well, and might help to put your mind at rest.

After that, I'm afraid it's just a bit of a waiting game ☹️ I am anxious too and went for a scan at 7 weeks which was reassuring as we could see a heartbeat, and now I'm waiting for a follow up (another private scan) next week at almost 10 weeks, which will hopefully give me more reassurance as we approach the NHS scans.

Private scans aren't for everyone, and it's true that they only give you reassurance in that particular moment - but if you're anxious, and especially if you aren't experiencing many symptoms (which I'm not) it can be a comforting way to check in x

Thank you - I am pleased your 7 week scan was reassuring and best wishes for your 10 week one 💕 I did the Clear Blue digital yesterday but it only said 2-3 weeks but could this be because the dating is different to how my app does it?

UrbanSquirrel · 26/06/2024 12:37

@Hope1986 That sounds spot on. Bear in mind that your app (and the NHS, and most of the time we're talking on here) will give gestational dates, which is from the first day of your last period.

But the digital tests measure the amount of hcg on your urine so they will give you the actual age of your pregnancy, which is usually gestational age minus two weeks (because most people ovulate two weeks after their period).

Thus, to give an example, my app says I'm 8+5 today. But actually I'm only 6+5 weeks past conception (and perhaps less because I think I ovulated late). So if your app is telling you 4 weeks, it's exactly right that the digital test is saying 2-4"3, because it's measuring time since conception, not since your period.

Does that make any sense? I'm not sure! 😂 But just remember, unless people specify otherwise, they're always talking about gestational age.

@Hope1986 Sorry, I've just seen I typo'd and I can't edit on the app - I meant 'the digital test is saying 2-3...' Sorry for all the random extra symbols!

Hello all, just creating a new thread to lead on from the existing Feb 2025 thread - which is speedily filling up!

7+2 due feb 10th! Rocky start with spotting here and there at 4 weeks and 5 weeks but nothing since as was told it's just a bleed in my cervix and saw a heartbeat 4 days ago 🥰 my symptoms are sickness here and there, sore boobs and naps here and there! partner would say mood swings too😂 vomited some blood today though which hasn't made me feel good, rang drs and they suspect from retching I may have burst a vessel or teared something so fingers crossed nothing bad!! this happened a couple weeks back and was fine 🥺

UrbanSquirrel · 26/06/2024 12:58

@apple67cherry I'm so sorry to hear about the blood but the doctor's explanation sounds reassuring (as much as anything can be!). Take good care of yourself and sending hugs x

I hate the waiting I wish there was a way to not find out until at least 8 or 9 weeks I'm 4+5 today and anxious but also feeling very sick

@alwayellie good luck at your scan my sister in law is also pregnant and had her 7 week scan Saturday which showed a healthy blob with a heartbeat

I'm not too worried after the time before it happened (at 5 weeks pregnant) it was a lot worse and couldn't keep anything down and was fine and this time around it was a one off and drinking and eating fine now 😊 I'm going to book a scan for 2 weeks time when I'm 9 weeks x

WildFinch · 26/06/2024 14:00

Does anyone else suffer with sciatica? I've had it since early March, it gets better then gets worse then gets better, then worse. I can't drive or really sit down at the moment. Osteopath won't treat me in first trimester and said physio is unlikely to either even though I have an appointment with physio on Friday. Anyone else experienced this? I'm worried pregnancy will only make it worse. Being in pain all the time is very draining.

i had LLETZ last year so wonder if my cervix is more irritated as well. Anyone else has this procedure?

I haven't had a Lletz but I had a cone biopsy last year to treat severe pre cancerous cells.
As yet I haven't had any spotting but I have been experience quite a bit of cramping but that could be because I'm on Progesterone suppositories and that will also irritate the cervix.
I'm guessing after either of these procedures we will have cervix length closely monitored

Thanks for the new thread! Having a big wobble today about the third baby joining the family. How will we manage?! I just wish I could see into the future and know everything will be okay. Anyone else feel similar?

I only have one DC but also wonder how a new baby will change they dynamic, DC will nearly be 5 when baby arrives and we've spent 5 years just 3 of us. I think change is always scary and definitely apprehensive of that!
